Great customer service; this is a mostly Spanish speaking establishment but the wait staff were incredibly patient with us and welcoming. For unbeatable pricing, the food we got as incredibly well-seasoned and well portioned. I recommend any of the ethnic dishes as my group tried about half of what was on display and they all tasted great. We ate two plates there and also took food to go. The oxtail was cooked exactly as it should be where the collagen is nice and chewy, with meat falling off the bone. All the meat we tried was moist and tender. For $4 you can get hefty empanadas and we tried and loved the chicken, beef and cheese filled ones. The tamale was also delicious. The food looked like it was made with wholesome ingredients and care. The cortadito was nice and strong - incredibly efficient for a small shot as we woke up after eating all that food. They serve a variety of drink flavors like guayabano and mamey. I got a mamey smoothie and enjoyed the creamy almost melon-like but novel flavor for me. For novelty, value, and delicious cultural cuisine, this place etched a core memory in that we paid more at whole foods and got more thrill from the flavorful experience at Papazzito Coffee Bar. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Orlando. We literally come here all the time. On this visit I got my customary beef empanadas and passion fruit juice. Be advised that there is sometimes a language barrier so be clear about what you want. I got my order in a timely fashion and it was delicious as usual. I stopped by the restaurant this past Saturday for breakfast. I've patronized the location before but, only for lunch and dinner items. The female server and staff were friendly and accommodating as I did ask questions regarding their menu and Wi-Fi service. I eventually decided to get their combination meal which came with Two Eggs, Sausage, Ham, Bacon, Cheese, French Fries and Cuban Bread. Whew!... Just writing that sentence made me full. The meal itself was good however, the star of the show was the Cuban Bread which was thin and crunchy on the outside and nicely buttered, soft and airy on the inside. The only quibble I had was the cleanliness of the interior as there were a few booths which were not wiped down from the previous customers. They also only serve bottled water which I realized after the server provided me the bottle at my table. The restaurant charged a reasonable $1.25 for the bottle but, the restaurant should make visitors aware they do not serve tap water. read more

No matter where I am in the world, I just want a place like Cafe Pinar to be near me. But if Orlando is where I have to be to enjoy it, so be it. This is my kind of Cuban place: casual, delicious, affordable, and the kind of vibe I want in any neighborhood establishment. Located in the corner of a strip mall, Cafe Pinar is not the most obvious place for first-timers. There is plenty of parking and as I understand it is rarely busy during most days, save for the lunch hour. There's a good amount of seating for all sorts of groups and the takeout process is quite easy. I would highly recommend speaking Spanish if at all possible here and of course, come hungry. I had a number of items but there were a few that stood out. The ropa vieja is everything that it's been advertised to be, succulent and savory all throughout. The carne guisada is also quite nice with chunks of meat and potato, the pernil was wonderfully crispy and extremely abundant, thanks to a very packed box from my Chilean server, Lorena. I give big props to their maduros and the yuca was surprisingly very good. I would recommend any of their rice choices, especially the yellow rice and the mixed moros. It is without a doubt. I would come back here in a heartbeat. There is outdoor seating and so many amazing choices throughout their daily lunch line. Many of the patrons are also Cuban, which is always a good sign. What a pleasant surprise! We popped in here while shopping in the area nearby. It is a modest place with a few indoor seats and an easy to review menu. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I ordered the chicken and rice, which was very tasty! There was more than enough to take leftovers home and they were just as delicious the second time around. They served everything in re-usable, take-home containers, which was super handy and was a nice touch to know that it was all new and safe with COVID. I felt I had driven all over the "Disney area," searching for a SIMPLE carne empanada with no questionable "filling." All I was looking for was a morning snack . They hit my mark. I was shopping at FLorida Mall and wanted to grab lunch and saw this place nearby. This is definitely one of my favorite place in Orlando so far. Service was amazing. The staff was very nice and considerate. While I was ordering my food, the person kept asking me if i want this or that and if i rather have this or that and even let me choose which pieces of protein i wanted! I ordered the daily lunch special which came with a quarter leg of chicken, either potatoes or sweet plantains, and rice with beans. I got the sweet plantains and asked if i can get a salad instead of the rice. All of it was for $6 with high quality food!!! And the portion was very generous. The chicken along was pretty decent in size. and it was so tender (falling off the bone). The quality of the food has been declining for the last year and service is not very good either! *** The thing that really bothers me is the ladies ring you up and speed through the screen that shows you the total order and take you to the tip screen. They wait for you to leave a tip. They put an auto 15% on every order, and don't tell you. They got me the first few times. The last time I was in there with a group and paid. When we got to the tip screen I said you already included a tip. She got annoyed and we waited 35 min for 4 sandwiches, and they were not busy. I've been in to get just one sandwich and they charge the 15% too. I never tip just 15% but if they're going to try to scam extra money then that's what I will leave them. Amazing! I stopped in on the way to the Crayola Experience during a recent family vacation. I was worried the kids wouldn't find anything they like but I was wrong. This was enjoyed by all! Our party ranged in age from 2 years old to 80 years old. In the event your kids are not adventurous, they do have a kids menu with the traditional options of grilled cheese and chicken fingers. We went here for the first time a couple weeks ago, and wow, did this place exceed my expectations! We were doing some shopping nearby and looking for lunch ideas. We love Cuban food, but had never tried Cafe Pinar, so decided to give it a chance. From the outside, it's not much to look at. Once inside, it's a smallish place, and they encouraged us to grab a paper menu (we were there during COVID) and take a seat anywhere. They have the typical offerings you'd expect from a Cuban restaurant in Florida: empanadas, croquettas, medianoche and other Cuban sandwiches, and a variety of beef, chicken and pork dishes. I ordered the Ropa Vieja lunch special with black beans and rice - one of my go-to Cuban dishes. If you haven't had ropa before, it's shredded beef cooked with garlic, onions, bell peppers, wine, and tomato sauce. Delicious! The food was sooooo good! The portions were huge, and the prices were dirt cheap. This may have been pandemic pricing, but we got two lunch specials (my Ropa Vieja and Stacy's Arroz con Pollo a la Cubana) and an order of ham croquettas for ~$20 ... including tax! This place has some of the best Cuban food around; you can tell because the owner is from Cuba and the food is made with love. I've tried a variety of dishes here (from the pork, to the picadillo, to my personal favorite--the medianoche, or midnight, sandwich). The latter dish is simple, but surprisingly easy to screw up. For one, they use the correct bread (a special, sweet-potato-like), as opposed to traditional Cuban or white bread. The pork is always juicy, not dry, and the proportion of meat to cheese to condiments is correct. The sandwich is also pressed properly such that it is crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. And at $6.49, it is a steal. I will always return for good, authentic Cuban food when in the area. read more

As soon as I stepped in I was greeted by the familiar face gentleman (owner) and he himself helped me with my lunch selection. Although I really love their Cuban sandwich, black beans, chicken, etc., I am always interested in trying something new so it was perfect that he helped me. I took his recommendation and chose roast pork for the meat. It had a lot of good flavor and so delicious. With it I had black bean rice, potatos and yucca with garlicky oil. Everything was great. The whole meal with a can of CoCo Rico was only $8.51. Cafe Pinar is a super delicious, super reasonably priced and super nice service Cuban restaurant! I ordered shrimp with garlic. It comes with fried yellow plantains. I asked if I could get the tostones instead (also plantain). I was told I could but I was charged extra and I didn't get the fried yellow plantains. They did not take off for me not getting the fried yellow plantains but charged my extra when I was not told I would be. They do not have red beans. They have black beans and pink beans. I asked for the red beans since I was told the choice was black or red. I got pink beans instead. When I asked for the red beans, as I had originally ordered, I was told they only had those pink beans and not the red ones. When I was going to add a tip, the sever told me that an 18% tip was automatically added. I couldn't change that even though there was no warning for that.
