Well, for a stop in the desert, they're okay. The scrambled eggs were scrambled so long they looked like popcorn, just how my brother made them...when he was 10! The biscuits and gravy were decent, but not to brag about. The pancakes were straight from McDonald's. (Perhaps GSF foods delivers here also.) The bacon was good, perfectly cooked. The hash browns were from a school cafeteria, not that I mind, but if you're looking for some real hash browns, you'll have to keep looking. read more

On my way back from Victorville I decided to stop and eat at this place which I see every time I go to a soccer tournament every year I got the pulled pork sandwich with the homemade potato chips and it was great the atmosphere inside is really good and the guy waiting on us at the counter was perfect I definitely will be back from the outside it doesn't look like much but inside the atmosphere is fantastic and also the food Is to die for watching the man smoke the meet out front was really interesting I recommend this place to anyone traveling. The BEST ribs this side of the Mississippi! Love the ambience and friendly faces. The reboot we get when my wife and I go. It may be almost 2 hours away but worth the drive. When we show up we see complete normalcy. We see families sitting around laughing. The sign out front has choice words for our newly appointed state dictator Newsom and Trump 2020 on the walls. Second time I asked for a sampler platter so I could decide what extra to buy to take home. $30 I got 3 beef ribs that were 100% fat, 1 sausage link, 3 slices of tri tip that were 50% fat. We were on our way to Cracker Barrel never been to Lucerne before and saw the signs for Cafe 247. At first I thought it meant it was open 24/7 but then noticed it matched the number on the highway I was on. We were very thirsty and slightly hungry but after looking at the menu decided to go ahead and eat here. My wife and I split one of there earth's best cheeseburgers which turned out to be fairly accurate. My daughter had a pulled pork sandwich which turned out to be awesome. The atmosphere inside is friendly, the owner came up to us and gave us a tour of his huge license plate collection from all over the world. All in all it was a great stop highly recommended and if I pass through again I will be back. read more

Found this place on the way home from Big Bear and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. What a great place to stop in for a bite. This is a true roadside cafe and an amazing piece of Americana that you only find during a road trip. The owners (who happened to be there during our visit) were so kind and welcoming that THIS place will be a stopping point on EVERY family trip back to the mountain. This place is all around 100!!! I wish I could give 10STARs!! My family and I were snowed in and stranded on the Hwy over Thanksgiving weekend and this place literally saved our lives. The food was amazing and it was warm and cozy inside. Bathrooms were also sparkling clean. The owner even kept us updated on road conditions and gave my Mom a free slice of pie! This is about the pulled pork that I had on 1.18.19. There is a sign and a radio ad that claims "worlds best bbq" I have to say that it's false advertising at best. The pork had zero bark it was mushy and soaked in bbq sauce. Can't say for sure but it looked a lot like it had been cooked in a crock pot not on a smoker. Not worlds greatest by a long shot, mediocre at best. read more

I had a delicious three egg omelette with onions and avocado. It was cooked perfectly. Only disappointment was that I had to eat it with a plastic fork on a plastic plate. Stopped by on the literal hottest day of my life. Hoping that won't impact my review at all. We sat outside-crazy I know! It was self seating and tables were in the dirt, again it was hotttttt. BBQ area is outside also so any breeze your hoping for basically just blows all the smoke over and makes things worse. I think it would be great if they added misters outside. I might have just gone on the worst day of the year, but I think that would definitely help out. The food came out pretty quick but BBQ was overly salted. Total bummer but beers are available by the bucket so that won me over. Tried the infamous Oreo churros and they really just didn't cut it. They were black like Oreo's but missing something. On the other hand the owner was very personable. I watched her go table to table and make conversation with customers. I though that was awesome, you don't see that often. There were two doors for restrooms inside and they were occupied the entire time I was there. I think it was only 1 stall each so understandable but every time I walked in there was a line of people waiting. The cafe is literally in the middle of nowhere so if you have to go you have to wait. After making a few unsuccessful trips inside I was told there were port o pottys outside. I wasn't overly thrilled but did what I had to given the situation. Literally, the cleanest port o pottys I have even been in. Strange observation, sure! But it worked out. Overall, I think it's awesome an independently owned restaurant has been able to stand the test of time. I love places that are family owned and operated. The owner seemed to be pleasant and very involved so that is definitely something to recognize. They identified a problem with the restrooms situation and found a solution. I think with time this place will continue to make improvements. Overall, I'd be back! read more

I ordered the all meat breakfast burrito and it was amazing one of the best breakfast burritos in California. I recommend this place to everyone if ever passing through the Valley. We live in a very small town with a large population of folks over 60. It's so sad to drive by and see their complete disregard of any safety guidelines while other restaurants in our town are doing it right regardless of what "political" views they hold. The fact is, if we suffer an outbreak from these superspreader events they have every weekend it won't be pretty. Many small businesses are suffering monetary losses in order to keep their customers safe but these people could give 2 f***'s about our lives, as long as their raking in the dough right? Wow! Impressed! We were driving, in need of coffee and dinner. We were confused about our options. We stopped in for some coffee, they made us a fresh pot! We needed some vegetarian options, they had a few so we had dinner too. SOO happy we did. We really enjoyed the wraps, veggie and chicken! The homemade chips were delicious. When we left we realized we had walked in just before they closed. They were all so nice, making a fresh pot of coffee and customizing a chicken wrap.
