Ube Ube Crack Cheesecake and ube tea
    Emily C.

We came here for an open mic night they were hosting and had a blast! It's a cute little shop with a relaxed vibe. We got to meet the manager who is the brother in law of the original founder. All the workers were really nice. There are lots of ube flavored things to choose from as well as options for some other flavors. We got the ube tea and ube cheesecake and both were really good!

I was in the area on Sunday and so glad I was near! This has been on my list. Ruthy (Ruthie?) greeted me and explained the menu. She also let me know what vegan options there are. I got an ube milk tea with boba and soymilk for myself. I got a calamansi jasmine tea with boba for my husband. No pastries were vegan so I had to skip. I bake with ube a lot and I hope they will consider vegan baked goods in the future! For the drinks... they were good. I forgot to ask if it's real Ube or powder or extract. The drink wasn't super purple but that's ok considering it may be real Ube. It was 1.65 charge for alternative milk :( It was I think $2 for boba per drink :( It was about $21 for two drinks with tip. I won't lie, it was not a good amount of boba but the drinks are yummy. It was a clean open environment. I was invited back for a sale later this month. Very happy to visit. Nice staff. Helpful. Just very pricey for the serving of boba.

OG halo halo and Upside Down halo halo

Best Halo Halo I've had in a very long time. I used to go to Island Pacific, Goldilocks and Tambayan, but now I'm coming here for it. I'm glad there are establishments in AZ and CA. I'm not sure if every Cafe86 is set up the same way, but I like the Star Wars deco at the Chandler AZ location. I also like their 3 vertical TVs that display the menu at eye level. They have plenty of drinks to choose from, but I would highly recommend trying the Halo Halo at least once. I didn't have to wait very long for my order which I always appreciate. They gave me boba straws which I found odd because you only need a spoon for Halo Halo. Save your straws!

The Mermaid & Ube Milk TEA

Came here for dessert last night and it was delicious. I came here once before for a Yelp event so I knew it was worth coming. I got the Mermaid Milk Tea (jasmine milk tea with a dash of matcha and sea salt) and my husband got the ube milk tea. Both were delicious and not too sweet. For dessert, we got the ube bar and the ube leche cupcake. They were both delicious! Service was really friendly when we had questions about the menu and they were patient with our wild monkeys running around the area. There's a couch and several tables to sit and enjoy your drinks and treats.

I was told that this business was Filipino inspired. By that, I mean that they make their version of filipino/asian drinks/dessert a bit different. We tried their regular halo halo and the upside down halo halo. Both were great! They used frosted flakes instead of the toasted rice and it was the perfect replacement IMO. It did just the trick that I'm craving one as I'm writing this review.

This cafe as a find through a yelp even that my brother brought me over to try. The must try is the halo halo. To change it up from the prior experience, we tried the upside down halo halo. The halo halo is made up of coconut jellies, jack fruit, boba, frosted flakes, vanilla ice cream and flan on a ube base. Real jack fruit people!! Cute place to come hang out and try some desserts.

This is a nice, clean spot with warm and friendly staff. We're big fans of halo-halo and I have been wanting to try Cafe 86 for a while so we were happy we finally got the chance when we visited Chandler AZ. We decided to try their upside-down version and it did not disappoint! I loved how the frosted cornflakes added a perfect crunch that really complemented the overall taste of the ube halo-halo. It wasn't too sweet. I also appreciate that they honor military members with a discount. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend giving it a try!

If you love Ube desserts and coffee this is the place!! So many yummy pastries I wanted to try them all. The ube brownie was so yummy and the coffee is great. The shop was decked out in Star Wars stuff which was a pleasant surprise! They had good music playing, and overall very chill. The woman who helped me at the counter was so friendly!! Definitely recommend this place!!

I first discovered this place after attending during Yelp Elite week. It was so good, I had to come back for more just a few days later. After a long day of work, I had a sweet tooth craving, and knew exactly what I wanted. Cafe 86 is a fun and vibrant place that specializes in all things Ube. From drinks to baked goods, you'll be sure to find your Ube favorite here. I ordered the Ube Flan Leche Cupcake, which was exactly what I came for. A perfectly moist Ube flavored cupcake (minus the frosting) topped with a delicious piece of flan. Never would I have thought that this would be such an excellent combination. The cake portion is delicious and moist just like a cake should be. The flan is also delicious.. and flan is not an easy thing to make. This dessert really hit the spot and I could eat more & more but the hips don't lie! Service was wonderful just like time before. A really great spot to stop in for a quick treat & also for work or study.

Left ube latte with espresso shot & right is green rose milk tea with lychee jelly

I love ube and so I was recommended by a friend to visit Cafe 86. Right as we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff. There are so many ube options to choose from so we will be back to try out their other ube options. The vibe is very relaxing and cool. You'll see Star Wars figures and art work on the walls. My husband ordered their ube latte with a shot of espresso. Typically this is caffeine free. It was very creamy and not overly sweetened. I ordered their green rose milk tea and although this was on the sweeter side it was still very good, floral, and creamy. For food, my husband and I had their pastrami sandwich along with their ube crinkle cookie. Both the cookie and sandwich were delicious. The cookie in particular was sweet and so soft. I have no complaints. I highly recommend checking this place if you're in the area. Plus they also have car meet nights/promos listed on their chalk board.

Little did I know Cafe 86 was a chain that existed outside of California. I was in town visiting family and was craving for a boba drink. I leveraged good ole trusty Yelp for recommendations and of course, I came across this sweet gem in Arizona of all places. I've tried Cafe 86 before in California so I knew that if I came here, I would definitely get their Upside Down Halo Halo. It's more of a dessert since it has layers of sweetness such as: Their signature ube base halo halo, coconut jellies, jackfruit, boba, Frosted Flakes, one scoop of vanilla ice cream, and flan. The mini size was already more than enough for me so I opted for that size instead of their regular. And, you bet that I inhaled that in the same day with zero remorse. My order was made rather quickly and while I was waiting, I got to see the eclectic wall art and decor throughout (including a Darth Vader painting). This is a place you don't want to sleep on especially if you're a Halo Halo fanatic and a dessert lover to boot!

Drink - I tried the Cali-Mango Slush, which IS a 24oz Blended Mango Puree with Calmansi. Calamansi is a hybrid between kumquat and mandarin orange. It is a citrus hybrid, called a Philippine lime or lemon. The drink tasted like pineapple to me at first. I couldn't taste the mango as much as the citrus flavor. I could taste a hint of mango. Refreshing on a hot day. I didn't get any of their other drinks or desserts today. Atmosphere - Interesting decorations. I did not visit the restroom. Not hot or cold inside. I have been to some places where it's been hot. Not very busy. A small cute cafe. Service - Quick and attentive. Parking - Surface parking lot. No parking meter or parking structures.

I could probably put that on just about anything. The vibes are wonderful too. It's cozy, welcoming, and the kind of coffee shop where you want to linger with a friend for a while. My only critique is the layout of the front room. There always seems to be a line, but there's not really a good place for it to go besides in front of the entrance and the water station. It turns into a lot of "excuse me" and people weaving around each other. It's definitely a good problem to have because they're clearly popular, but I hope as they continue to flourish, they're able to expand into a larger space or rethink the flow a bit. Either way, I'll absolutely be back. Just save me another coconut brown sugar latte.

If they could make just a plain cheese or bacon and cheese that would hit the spot lol We also got their regular cinnamon roll. The breading had a lovely sweet cinnamon flavor and the icing on top had a delicious creamy taste without being overly sweet. The odd part for us was the filling in the inside. I couldn't decide if I cared for it or not, I was almost feeling it was pushing the sweetness over just a bit so l may or may not get that again. Even tho they have seating inside, it feels more like a grab and go. You can def enjoy your item there. But I wouldn't say a spot where you can sit and catch up with a Friend or read a book.
