Went here a couple times with friends looking for a nice brunch spot before going back to class in CSUN. This spot is located down Reseda and the parking lot is on the back, which can give limited parking spots. We came in and felt a nice local vibe and ambiance from the place, and you order at the counter before getting seated wherever you'd like. The decor of the place is unique and the furniture gives a very cozy and artsy feel. An interesting thing we saw at the place in September was seeing a lady vendor beside the counter, selling things like crystals, bracelets, and etc. My friend really found the stuff she was selling cool and pretty, but we headed towards our seats that were all facing the window. There was also a guy with a guitar and he started strumming his instrument in the cafe, adding onto the local and laidback ambiance. After a few minutes, they called out our orders and we each grabbed our plates from the counter. Croissant sandwich: The egg was nice and soft, it burst in my mouth when I took a bite and the warm yolk immediately spread its warmth into the soft croissant used for the sandwich. It was so delicious because it tasted like the flavors melted, and it brought smiles to our faces. Bagel sandwich: My friend thoroughly enjoyed the taste of the bagel with the sunny side up egg and bacon and cheese inside. He remarked at the delicious taste of his meal as well. He did agree that the bagel was a more harder and firm texture than the croissant, and added he may have preferred to have gotten that instead but we were all really satisfied with what we got paired with iced lattes. Overall, the prices are really reasonable and great for a quick but filling meal for brunch. It was a great chill hangout spot to kill some time and chat with one another. Went here for the first time, and the place/ambiance is vibin'. Great place to go to especially in the morning to study, socialize, chill with friends or fam. The service was great, they were very prompt and friendly. We ordered iced tres leches latte and iced mocha, and they were yummmy. Third visit at this local spot. Love the laid back vibe. Owner is a sweetheart and greets everyone with a smile. Been craving the breakfast burrito and this time got it with turkey sausage instead Of bacon. I also ordered a chai latte with whole milk it was. I think my next visit I will try a different hot drink. This is the spot you want to go to meet a friend or if your girlfriends and you have time to sit and talk. If you're looking for rushing in and getting quick service because you're late for work, this is not the place to go to. This is a perfect spot to take some time for yourself and may be a good book and a delicious cup of coffee or like I said to meet up with some friends. I wouldn't bring small kids or roll up with a huge crowd. Limited seating. Every Tuesday they have live music by her friend Michael. There are boardgames as well as books that you can borrow and read if you were so inclined. Prices are super reasonable. Drinks are great and food is yummy. Parking on the front of the establishment on the street as well as rear parking. I'm not sure about their policy on pets but I have seen a few dog owners carrying their pets in and out. read more

Cute coffee shop! Employee was friendly. She was very happy to give us service. Cappuccino was ok for me. I couldn't catch any end notes..not much depth...the level of roasting is unsure..maybe it's the beans itself or maybe it tasted like when the shot got pulled from an auto machine! Nothing special but nothing really bad neither. 5 layers avocado was ok. Bacon was a little bit oily for me. Maybe pat it with a paper towel...lol. Eggs were perfectly oozy! Bread was too soft for toast and has a little gummy texture. Maybe it just needed a little longer on the toast. I will be back to try the French toast because it looks delicious. Pastries in the case look nice too. I'll also add that the place was not busy but most of the tables hadn't been wiped. Either we came right after a crazy rush or the staff might need to go around and clean up more often. Parking in the back. Lots of tables. Even a long one for a big meeting if you needed it. read more

This cafe's ambiance was very welcoming with beautiful artwork on the wall, a dim warm lighting, and an excellent amount of plants. I got one of the seasonal drinks, Cayleigh's double mocha latte, and my friend got Ani's iced lavender chai latte. Both of us really enjoyed our drinks and how cute they turned out. We got served by Ani herself, with great customer service and very kind communication. The price of their drinks are very reasonable for the quality of the lattes. My roommate and I have been looking for cute new cafes to visit in our area, and I'm so happy we stumbled upon Cafe Aficionado. As an ube lover, I was SO excited to try the Dirty Ube Latte and it did not disappoint! The cafe owner was in house when we visited, and she was so sweet. One area in the store is a dedicated space where small businesses were able to sell their products (I actually ended up getting strawberry nail decals and they look amazing!!) and I loved the support between local businesses Board games were available to play during your visit as well! I just recently tried Cafe Aficionado and omg so cute! It's a hidden gem in Northridge, CA. I'm new to the area so I've been looking for new coffee shops. I will definitely be coming back. The barista was very nice and attentive. I found them on instagram like I do most of places nowadays lol. And I'm so glad I did! Because I follow them on instagram I seen they have a spring seasonal menu! I ordered the beignet latte. I got it iced with oat milk. OMG, sooo good! I could smell how good it was before even tasting and I knew it was going to be delicious! The honey, cinnamon and vanilla all blended so well together. Just heavenly! And that espresso, honey she woke me right on up for work lol! I can't wait to go back to try more off of their seasonal spring menu. read more

I came in to thus coffee shop with my wife and it's delicious, the coffee is perfect, the food is awesome, customer service is on point really friendly and the owner is super beyond friendly she is such a great example of how a business owner should run a business very, very friendly and kind makes sure everything is OK . Got the cookie butter and French toast lattes. Both were yummy and quality.Service was great. The girls working were very nice. We actually ordered our drinks hot and received them iced but we didn't mind so we didn't say anything and started drinking them. One of them noticed the mistake a couple minutes later and came to let us know that she was going to start preparing our hot drinks. We really didn't mind at all and turned down the offer but the gesture went a long way and left a very good impression. I would definitely come back again! read more

I was really hoping to have a chill cafe vibe but unfortunately the ambiance is severely lacking for me. I went on a Saturday morning and there was plenty of seating however didn't seem very inviting as the heat from the stove and lack of ventilation made it extremely stuffy and uncomfortable. The smoke from whatever they were kicking was also filling the air. However the staff was very friendly and got my order out quickly. I ordered a dirty oat milk chai and it was perfectly made. A little pricey compared to other coffee shops but at least it tasted good. read more

I absolutely the my time here this morning. They are playing lofi Christmas beats. First time here but definitely won't be my last. The man behind the counter has perfect customer service. This review is for their coffee only. Didn't try their food, but the way the coffee went I won't be back to try the food. Got an iced latte. I would be content with their ridiculous price ($6.25 for a small iced latte, compared to places with specialty coffee around the area for $5) if the coffee was worth it. Took my first sip and oh boy! Worst latte I've had! I honestly was surprised of how bad it was. It tasted as home made with drip coffee, instead of espresso. If you can drink any coffee with some sweetener and syrup then I guess this won't be a big deal to you, but if you actually are a coffee lover, and you are looking for specialty coffee this place is definitely not for you. I also waited like 15-20 min for my coffee, but again most things can be overlooked if the coffee was actually good. So my review is mostly for coffee lovers looking for that nice coffee shop. read more

Pros and cons PROS: My latte was so good (a great mocha with the torched marshmallows, i savored every sip), i was in the mood for a SWEET TREAT while in the area having to do some work from home away from home. They had lots of outlets, comfortable seating, and the brownie was a yummy crispy outside gooey inside (a little too much powder sugar for my taste but i know a lot of people that would love it). CONS: it was a bit loud even with my AirPods on, the tables were not very well kept and needed another wipe down even tho there weren't many customers (but i found a clean one), i asked the barista was not very helpful when i asked for recommendations but i understand that that isn't her job to know what i like so that's a personal con for me, the hours I'd definitely go back to try some other menu items, and even have a more social outing here. read more

I came here on their small business Saturday and tried out Cafe Aficionado as well. Lavender Honey Latte - You get a perfect mix of lavender and honey. I had it hot so I love it. Kat's Kookie Butter Latte - The cookie butter flavor was light and it wasn't bad. Sean's Burrito - It was decent. However, burritos are generally a messy type of food. Once I took a bite of it the burrito literally fell apart because there was no foil or parchment paper wrapped around it. I also didn't get utensils that way I could pick at it like a burrito bowl. I asked for bacon and sausage, but they forgot the bacon. Oh well. It was decently sized, but it was okay. A few more things that bothered me about my visit. It's pretty standard to spend $6+ for a cup of coffee nowadays; that I understand. What I do not understand is the price I paid for the coffees with such a small cup. Since I went on a Saturday they were busy (which is understandable) and it took 30 minutes to receive my burrito. Had I known it would be this long I probably would have passed on getting food here and stop somewhere else for a quick bite to eat. I might be willing to give his place another shot if someone else I knew wanted to go. read more

Walked in midday, just to get some coffee -- was not greeted or told they'd be with us shortly. The person I was with and I saw they were a little busy so we thought it was fine but after five minutes of no acknowledgement and no line behind us we decided that wasnt it and decided to go to chit chat, where we were greeted immediately upon entering and even apologized for the short wait to get the drinks (took all of less than five minutes to get after ordering). My wife and I are always looking for different places to stop Caf'e Aficionado is tucked away on the corner of Reseda and Rayen . The people are very friendly and provide all kinds of interesting food plates , coffees and lattes to drink. It has a very cool vibe You feel like you can hang out there and spend quality time with someone you like to have a coffee with. They also allow you to play board games. I've been looking for a cool cafe to frequent now that I live in the valley area. My sil and I checked out this place, I wish I could give different stars for coffee vs. food The coffee I'll give 4 stars, I got the Nutella latte iced (with half the syrup) that was dope. I also ordered their breakfast burrito...that I'll give 1 star, very bland and very eggy. Definitely felt sick after I ate it. We asked for salt and pepper and were told they don't have any. Every time I go the staff is beyond friendly and sweet. I definitely go for the Sean Breakfast Burrito! It is BOMB dot com. Today Abby suggested the croissant waffle and she asked nutella or cookie butter OR both? Ummm yessssss please. I shared both with my beautiful Sis and it was heaven. Croissant waffle (also fresh strawberries) and breakfast burrito. Seriously the best breakfast burrito ever. And I KNOW my burritos. Enjoyed some music and singing by Michael. Came here a year ago while driving through. Would have come sooner but I forgot to save the info and it took that long to remember what it was called. The food is amazing! Dirty ube latte was amazing!! Did not expect the flavors to be as balanced as it tasted. The espresso mixed well with ube latte powder and it was not too sweet either. Is the cafe open on Saturdays or is it only open for specific pickups? I stopped by last Saturday at 9am, door was closed. Stayed in my car until 9:10am, Still was closed.

They are open on Saturday's. They sometimes open a bit late though. Try parking & going in the back.

Yes, Cafe Aficionado has Oat Milk. I believe they replaced their coconut milk substitute they used to carry with Oat Milk, based on demand. Definitely recommend! 👍🏻

My friend had a couple of cocktails which were gorgeous. And the room is lovely and light. I don't love the neighborhood and parking can be tough. I definitely would come early unless you're taking a taxi. Genuinely surprised how much I liked this meal. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself was also literally warm lol. It wasn't unbearably hot, but definitely warmer than comfortable, especially while eating something like curry. Granted, it was 95°F+ outside that day, so maybe the AC was just fighting for its life. We ordered: * Goat liver mousse * Wood-fired broccoli * Pickled pepper blueberry cornbread * Lamb curry Surprisingly, I think the wood-fired broccoli was my favorite dish of the night. It had a really nice char with a slight tanginess that kept me going back for more. The cornbread and goat liver mousse were both just okay for me. I wanted the cornbread to be richer and more buttery, and the blueberry didn't come through nearly as much as I expected. The goat liver mousse was fine, but weirdly I almost wanted it to taste more like goat? For something centered around goat liver, the flavor felt pretty tame. The lamb curry had a nice curry flavor, but it was missing the depth and complexity I've had in really good curries. There also wasn't much actual lamb in the dish, which made it even harder for it to stand out. Overall, nothing we had was particularly bad, but aside from the broccoli, nothing made me think, "I need to eat this again." The space and interior honestly left a stronger impression on me than the food. Maybe we just didn't order the right dishes, because this place is clearly popular; but with so many other restaurants in the Arts District, I don't see myself choosing Girl & the Goat over them for a return visit.

About a month ago, one of the managers here Jason introduced me to these drinks so I bought the Purple Fruit beans and a pour over kit and started drinking it at home in the mornings since we both get up early. My wife tried it and she loved it. She asked me to get a few bags incase they run out so I did! I buy Verve coffee for my team and people in our building all the time. I enjoy buying good coffee for others as much as I enjoy drinking it myself. Their lattes and mochas are really good too. I also bought some beans for my mother in law so she can share it with her friends back home in Seoul and she said they loved it! My coffee game has been elevated and I loveeee it! Bonnie, thank you soo much for the thoughtful birthday message on the cup. She gave me the Wilder leftover on a shot cup and it was the first time I took a "shot" in 4 years. I had a nice chat with Ed about gratitude and counting our blessings. Jason and Brian have a lot of deep knowledge and experience with coffee. The team here really work hard and really know and enjoy their coffee. We are not perfect but they still strive to serve us everyday. Parking is super convenient--just turn onto Rayen St., and you'll find a lot in the back. The service here is amazing! The cashier was so kind and patient, offering thoughtful recommendations when I asked about their most popular drinks. I honestly wanted to try them all! I ended up going with the Dubai Matcha Latte from their seasonal menu and paired it with a Nutella Crepe with Banana. The latte was beautifully presented and had the perfect balance of matcha and pistachio flavors--not too sweet, just right. I haven't tried real Dubai chocolate to compare, but this drink was unique and absolutely delicious. Fingers crossed they keep it on the menu! The crepe took a little longer to arrive, but it was worth the wait--warm, tasty, and a great complement to my drink. Everything looks fresh but when I ordered one of their specialty, I got the breakfast croissant with fried eggs and chicken patty in the picture I changed from croissant to a bagel I asked the guy on the Register if I could get breakfast pork sausage he said he has something similar to a sausage patty, but it's a chicken and it tasted nothing like chicken very salty and sweet, which was a little disgusting. I told him I wanted my bagel warmed by he burned it. Also the I ordered fried egg and he gave me a deep fried egg looks like he was using some dirty oil because it was almost dark. This place is a must!!! I absolutely loved this place! The ambiance is super chill and relaxing, making it the perfect spot to study, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a quiet break. It's instagramy, which is a plus. Super clean too!! You order your food at the cashier, and the customer service was fantastic. Samantha, Annabel, and Kiwy were all so friendly and welcoming. Annabel was actually a new hire, and you would never know it, she did an amazing job and made us feel right at home! Overpriced coffee. Food sucked. Way too loud inside - Nothing special about the coffee. Trying to hard with all the flavors but can't get a simple coffee right. - Food was cold, asked for avocado in the burrito and they forgot it so it was brought on the side. - They have a young gentleman playing the guitar and the flute which was nice but it was also very very loud for a coffee shop.. almost felt as if we were at a concert. Saw a bunch of students studying get up and leave and our group could hardly hear each other. Very hard to relax and unwind. I have been eying this place for a while and finally came by this weekend. From what the other people that have reviewed have mentioned they have such a welcoming and kind staff that greets you when you walk in immediately. Very warm and cozy coffee shop and a hidden gem as they are south of nordhoff. I enjoyed the cookie butter latte, Nutella stuffed French toast and this delicious almond croissant. Maybe she was upset because I had to flag her down because we had been sitting there waiting for someone to ask us if we wanted anything to drink. I asked for two coffees and two waters. She brought us the waters, and I never spoke to her again. Another waitress was kind enough to bring us our coffees after that. We waited a little while to order and yes, it was busy, but there were at least two or three people behind the bar at all times and I know they have other customers in the restaurant to serve so that doesn't bother me at all. So there was a third woman who took our order. We waited and waited and waited for our food. They did refill our coffee. After a while, I finally asked is our food coming? I was told let me go check by a fourth person. That fourth person returned and said that our food would be up soon. 10 minutes later I asked again if our food was coming. I understand certain things that take a long time like any of the pancake soufflés, but we did not order any soufflé pancakes. When I asked the second time when our food was coming, again, that person went to the kitchen to ask. When that person came back, they said oh it's not ready because you ordered the steak. The exact same thing they told me the last time we were here five years ago as to why our food was taking so long. I order my steak, medium rare every time it does not take that long to make a medium rare steak. Regardless, when I got my food, it was delicious. They forgot the side order of potatoes (because God forbid steak and eggs comes with potatoes) but I told them not to worry about it because I didn't wanna have to wait another 30 minutes to get them. My entree also came with a crêpe, and when they asked me what kind of crêpe I wanted, I asked for a Nutella crêpe. You know what they give you? A bone dry crêpe with whipped cream and a few drops of Nutella. I'm pretty sure that Nutella is supposed to go inside the crêpe not just a couple drops on top of it with a big giant dollop of whipped cream. And just because I feel like it, you know what's really low rent for a place with these prices? Tossing a to-go plastic disposable container of A1 on the plate with the steak and eggs. Seriously? You don't have a small little ceramic ramekin that you could at least put the A1in? I feel like that was put there just to fill up the plate because they don't give you any potatoes. Kind of a classless move. So like I said before, the food was very good and I'm sure it always will be. But when the waitress looks at you like you ruined her day, it reminds me why I haven't come back for years. Then when I really WANT to support that local business again, history of repeats itself. I don't like being blamed for my food taking forever because it's what I ordered. That is completely ridiculous and not the customers fault. So just be prepared for dirty looks and even if it's not that busy you're still gonna wait a long time for your food and maybe it'll be worth it but that's up to you.
