I'm usually not the person to complain, but I think after 3 incidents back to back, customers should know the truth about this cafe. I first started coming here for lunch a few weeks ago and I was happy because the food was good and because there were a variety of choices. Cafe Alexander became my new favorite spot. However, over the course of the last week I've been observing the flow of the business and realized that, either they are understaffed or the empires have lack of training and poor manners. I went there for lunch 2 times this week and all 3 times, the cashier and manager were running around with no organization. Anyway, I proceeded to order my food. One day I ordered the special salmon and chicken teriyaki. I specifically asked for little rice and extra vegetables. When my food arrived, not only was it full with rice, but it was cold. I told the staff and the manager came over and apologized. She took the food to reheat and also brought me the extra vegetables. I appreciated that. Today, I ordered a large tomato basil soup. When I received my soup, it was cold as if it was just taken from a can and put in a bowl. At this point I was livid, because this was 3 times in the week where my order was not appealing. I got up and asked to desk to the manager. Which was not the best customer service. As I was talking to her, she was rushing over to the table to get the soup to put in the pot to reheat it. Before I could get a full sentence out, she took the soup and walked away. When she returned, I said to her that I was trying to tell her that I did not want the soup anymore and would like a refund, but she walked away so fast and did not take the time to listen to me as the customer. Anyway, she then said, do you don't want the soup?! Still rushing if course. I said no and requested my money back. She just said okay, no formal apology and walked away. Shortly after. One of the other employees wAlked over (short, Hispanic woman), she demonstrated unprofessional magnetism as she gave me back my money, which by the way she miscalculated. She made it seem like it was a bother to her to provide customer service. Anyway, I walked up to the register and returned the coins and asked for the bill that I gave her initially. That was my fault for going they, because it seems like, again, I was being a bother to her. This has not been the first time that I've encountered they with her, but like I said, I was excited to find this cafe with a variety of options at reasonable prices. After I received my refund, I send to them that it's a shame that as a business, when they are wrong, they do not try to accommodate the customer. All this being said, I work with the public on a daily bas. I am a registered nurse that works in quality management and the service that I received was less than quality status. I u deters day that we l have bad days, busy days, but guess what, when you're working with the public, you have to be able to put your problems aside and accommodate your customers. I think I've given this cafe a fair chance. I'm sad to say that they will no longer get my business. I hope whomever reads this does not have the same experience I had. read more

Very good chicken quesadilla~ came with pico de gallo, sour cream, and guac...they skimped on the guac though~barely a teaspoonful.

My coworkers and I order from here pretty frequently because it's the only place close enough for food near our office. This place is lucky to not have another cafe near by, they have horrible service. They constantly get our orders wrong and all we get is a " oh sorry" no refund SOMETIMES they'll redeliver the right order but for the most part they always get your order wrong. Also be prepared to wait awhile for your order even if you order ahead. The quality of food is pretty bad and overpriced. read more

This cute neighborhood cafe s a little treasure chest. Everything is fresh. You can see from the photos it's not fancy but it's simple and clean tasting food. I feel nourished after I eat there. Plus they brew a good cup of coffee. read more

if you work in the area of this place.....seriously hit it up on your lunch break. they are only open until 3:30 on weekdays. it's one of the only places that you feel like you get what you pay for. the food is really good, and well priced. they also deliver to the area, and are extremely prompt. they have coffee and espresso drinks too. it's tough not to go there everyday! the people behind the counter are very nice. you order at the counter, get a number, and they bring it to your table. simple and good. read more

Bad experience staff looks overwhelmed. Greeted with the smell of Lysol as we walked in sat down. Had to ask for a menu . Ordered the Beverly Hills breakfast and offered toast. When it came out was told no toast with this dish. Wife ordered sesame seed bagel, got poppy seed bagel. My eggs and potatoes were under cook and bacon over cooked. Good luck if you dare. read more

I worked in the building where Cafe Alexander is located so I ate there almost every day. Their food is fresh and their portions are good. Their breakfast omelettes are delicious. For lunch, you really can't go wrong. Burgers are great, salads are very satisfying. Jenny is the owner and she is there all the time. She always takes care of her customers and makes sure they are happy. I still go back to Cafe Alexander every once in a while and I am never disappointed. read more

I cannot understand why on earth they have a solid english speaking crew there but the only person with a very strong accent who has trouble understanding names answer the phone and take orders. How many times can you screw up the name Gretchen? Plenty! Aside from initial phone in order placement this place is a great place to go. The pesto chicken sandwich is deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelish! I like to switch between rosemary and sourdough, either way it's yummylishous. My co worker loves their pasta dish and they have all assortment of please everyone foods. They also have all manner of Naked juices and smiles abound when you enter (at least for the staff). There is a quaint little outdoor seating area that tries to be secluded by placing bushes around it, and it seems to work! Prices are fine...the pesto chicken sandwich with either salad or french fries (OMG THESE THINGS ARE GREAT!!!) runs about $10 with a buck tip. Enjoy!! read more

The service here is always poor. I keep giving them another chance, because they are close to my work and sometimes the food is pretty good, but the service never ceases to disappoint. I used to work at the school nearby and would come here frequently for lunch. Food is consistently good (get the seasoned fries!), the staff is friendly and know you by name, and they have a cute little courtyard in front where you can scarf down your meal before heading back to the grind. A couple times the service was kinda slow, but overall they are quick and speedy with the lunch crowd in mind. Good lunch spot! read more

Love this place! Daily specials are always good and the soups are amazing. Never boring here. Staff is friendly and nice...they mixed up my order and gave me a free dessert for the trouble. LOVE Cafe Alexander! My coworkers and I order from them nearly every day, and multiple times within a day. Every time we order, the food is good quality and the order is always correct. The delivery guys are super nice and really fast too! Always ask what specials they have, those are usually the best. We tend to always order the Spicy Tuna Salad special, their Chicken Tostada Salad special, their sandwiches, or anything with chicken, their chicken is so good!! read more

By far the WORST service ever!! We ordered delivery, as it is one of the closest places to order from. It took over an hour to get our food, and even when it was delivered, the order was incorrect, and our food was cold!! I love this place. I order from here ALL the time because I work down the street. The club sandwich is my favorite. It could be a tiny bit cheaper but it's great food and I love everything I've tried. I love the warm goat cheese salad, cobb salad and the quesadillas too! This will be my last order with Cafe Alexander. The owner IVAN DOES NOT know how to solve issues when it comes to "making customers happy" with their order that they have already paid for. She only gave me EXCUSES!!!! I ordered a simple breakfast with an ICE americano coffee. When I received my order I called IVAN & questioned her about not having ice in my coffee & the paper bag my sandwich was in, was wet & soggy as if it has been sitting around for it to be delivered. Ivan said fine I will send "a cup of ice". 45 mins later I called again & ask IVAN where was my ICE that I've been waiting for? Ivan of course had another EXCUSE they only have 1 delivery guy (who is nice) & that I had to wait until another order comes in for my building (2 blocks away) . I then told IVAN that was not mentioned to me when I 1st called. Ivan's responses was "SHE IS VERY BUSY HERE & SHE HAS TO GO" So at this point I have been sitting here 55 mins since my order was delivered still wait for ice so I can drink my coffee. Usually great food but on this occasion my bacon burger was not cooked properly. The bacon was not done. I called to inform the owner who then proceeds to tell me it was cooked in a authortive tone. This place isn't as good as you would presume for the Beverly Hills area. They ALWAYS get my orders wrong and when I ask for a refund they always refuse so if you plan to order please note that you will get your order late...... about an hour and a half late to almost 2 hours !!!!! And on top of that cold food.. be prepared for that as well. The times they are on time you will get a wrong order and they send the driver to bring your correct order so it will be late ... and they WILL NOT accommodate the customer so if you assume you will get credit or a discount as a respectable restaurant be prepared for the NO and be stuck with overpriced cold food with no customer appreciation I would NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO ORDER FOR DELIVERY OR TO EAT HERE because so unless if they are willing to let me pack my order and I pick it up then I might be reluctant to think about eating or placing an order there ... and also beware of the owner she is a Korean lady who is not only rude and incompetent but also because she is the owner she will let you know that in her establishment the customer is never right... read more

Extremely disappointed on how the owner Jeannie the Korean lady conducts her business. Our office was in the same building and would order from this place all the time. So when the orders would be wrong we would just go down stairs and have them correct it. We have moved & we continued to order from this place but now every time we call & Jeannie answers the phone our order are wrong every single time. We do not have the convenience of going downstairs and getting our orders corrected. When we call to complain the last time we placed the order not only was the order wrong it was one hour and a half late. We called and asked for a refund. Jeannie said let me give you a credit of $30.00 instead of the refund. We called the next day to place an order to redeem our credit and Jeannie in broken English is saying that how could we do this to her. We order from her all the time how could we do this to her. She knows nothing about a $30 credit. & That her delivery guy was not that late. We explained to her that our lunch is only 30 minutes only part of the order was delivered and guys had to go back and get the rest of the order. We called to cancel the remaining order and asked for a refund. She said she would give us a $30 credit for our next order. Not only did Jeannie not honor the credit she blankly lied and said she wasn't the owner. and is trying to give us the guilt trip to ask for what we were promised. This is about the principle of the matter. Not only did she keep our money when we requested a refund she made false promises knowing dam well she wasn't going to keep it. I am really unhappy with this business, I work at a local office near Café Alexander and we consistently order food from them delivered every single week. I'm not kidding this was so convenient we would order every day. Today we ordered breakfast for our whole office and we ordered a breakfast avocado sandwich and it came with no avocado on it. We called the restaurant to tell them they forgot and they offered to send over just avocado, we told them we wanted a new sandwich because it would be cold by then. When they showed up to deliver the new sandwich they asked for the old one back because they said "They are positive we put avocado on the sandwich." We had never heard of a business asking for the food back and we had given the sandwich to another employee to eat so we could not show them. They wanted proof. I am insulted they would even assume we would try to scam them out of $6.99 sandwich especially when we order so often. We order so much we know the delivery guy. I will never order food from them again, its a shame they are so cheap and worth risking a customer who orders so much food from them. If I could leave zero stars I would. read more

We called at 12:07pm to order the Buffalo chicken wrap, which is actually really good! I asked how long it would take and the man told me 15 min. At 1:15pm I called and mentioned it had been an hour and asked what was the problem? The lady said that the order had been out and assured me it would be there any minute. At 1:30pm I called back to cancel the order, we have had cold food delivered in the past and did not want to deal with that again. The woman asked me what I ordered and the address, then told me she could not find the order and if I was sure it was placed! They didn't even offer to fix the order and get it to us! I order from this cafe very often. Very good food and great service. Their food always seems very fresh and tastes good everytime. Their delivery person Diego always greets me with a positive attitude and has been very nice with every interaction and makes me feel that I am appreciated as a person and not just a random delivery order.
