I was so excited to eat at Cafe Americano but terribly disappointed when we got there. They advertise that they serve brunch all day. There is even an "all day brunch" section on the menu. When we were ready to order our server let us know that they actually don't offer breakfast/brunch items at night. He said he wished they'd take it off the menu. That was the only reason we wanted to go so we didn't eat. We ordered two drinks which were overpriced and mediocre at best. Lastly they finessed my husband out of an additional tip. The tip is already included (20%.)They don't give you a paper check they just hand you the handheld machine with a total price on it. He asked for a tip (who does that) and once the transaction was over he wasn't going to give us a receipt. I asked for one and ended up seeing we spent over $40 for two crappy drinks. Absolutely my mistake. I'm a local and I know this place is a tourist trap. However, it was Art Basil (traffic insane) and I was cruising around on my bicycle. I wanted breakfast.. There was absolutely nothing edible that we ordered. The eggs like rubber. The fish tacos smelled like bait. We returned them. They begrudgingly made us new orders. They were just as bad or worse.... on top of that they added 20% gratuity automatically. read more

It gets busy, so keep that in mind, but staff was friendly, basically efficient, food was good, but nothing "oh wow". I guess fair priced for the meal and the area. This was the first place we got brunch on our trip and we were all highly disappointed. My food was decent but the salmon had grey spots and the avocado had brown spots. My friends omelette were over cooked. And one of my friends bread had mold on it. Overpriced in my opinion. read more

Coming here for the first time, we didn't know what to expect. Always had bad experiences with breakfast places in the past, but this one was clearly different. Upon walking over there, the restaurant's vibe immediately stuck out to us. The greenery, lighting, and seats outside seemed inviting, although we decided to sit inside for some AC. The service was pretty good, as our waiter gave us his own suggestions and helped us make our choices for what to get. However, we did end up waiting a very long time (~15 minutes) for an espresso at the end of the meal, which was eventually forgotten. The food itself was definitely the highlight of the experience as it was genuinely some of the best breakfast food I've ever had. The burrito was a hit, the omelets were tasty, the sandwiches had good bread, and everything was hot. However, for my fellow chocolate milk enjoyers, I wouldn't suggest getting it here. Most breakfast places don't do it right anyways, but here it just tasted like sugar water. Not worth it. Overall though, the food was amazing and we will definitely be back another time! 9.2/10. Sneaky and dishonest. Adding a service charge then asking for a tip Very dishonest and very backhanded. The food wasnt even that good. Don't go. They actually told me I was rude for questioning them adding an extra charge! Imagine spending well over $100 then being called rude for not wanting to be fleeced. Then! They screwed over their employee by erasing my tip from the bill for my "satisfaction". Imagine punishing your employees for your terrible business ethics. Avoid this place there's so many better places in Miami than this hole. I wish I could give a lower rating. read more

We were visiting from out of town. Wait staff was very friendly and the food was amazing!!! The avocado toast was so yummy. I ended up using the toppings from one slice and putting it in my arugula. Tasty. Hubby loved his omelet as well. read more

The name of the restaurant is Caffe Restaurant 1. We asked for a French press caffe and no option they don't have it 2. We asked for a ice caffe with honey melt already in the moment of preparation but they can't do this, they gave us a small cup off hit water to melt the honey in and then to put it in the coffee.. no words! 3. Omg I can't rave about this place we ate here for the days we stayed at the hotel around the area! This place is very nice and the food was great! We got the steak and eggs omg it was delicious! Our waitress Veronica was so sweet and her service was great! She knew exactly how I liked my latte and that made my morning! Thanks Veronica we will definitely be back to eat here again! The food here is yummy! Happened to walk by and sat down to eat. The manager forcefully grabbed the hostess by the arm, pulled her a few feet and told her to seat us. The food was good but pricey. I knew this though. However, they charge $10 for the strawberry lemonade my friend and I and the waiter refilled my friend's drink numerous times when she didn't asked and she ending up paying over $30 for refills when she never asked for a refill in the first place! The waiter was nice but he could've asked whether she wanted her drink refilled or not, she sipped on her water for the majority of our stay. The area was nice and it wasn't busy for a Monday night. But the parking is bad, after roads get filled you'll have to park in a parking lot that charges like $20 which is alot for me. Nice for taking pictures but overall wouldn't recommend for a fancy outing maybe just casual brunch. The cake I received on my birthday was free and delicious though. read more

I was nicely greeted and quickly seated by the host. Unfortunately, that's where the service ended. For the next 10 minutes nobody came to our table, then finally the server came over and asked if we wanted something to drink. We ordered 2 mocktails and asked for water. The server (I think her name was Veronica, but she never introduced herself) then asked if we were also ready to order food, which by this time we were. I ordered a hot appetizer to share with my wife, then we both ordered entrees and 2 sides. After about 15 more minutes of no water or drinks, I was about to get up and ask for our server, but just then a large tray of food arrived, complete with our appetizer, entrees and sides. The food runner put our food in front of us and I asked him if our server was coming with our water and drinks. I was upset because not only did I not get my beverages, but I would now have to decide if I should eat my appetizer while it is still hot or go for the entrée and sides first. I didn't want to complain and sour the afternoon, so I just started eating. Within a few minutes, the food runner returned with our drinks and quickly disappeared, so we didn't get water. We continued our meal, but never saw our server or a manager so by the table. When we finished our meal completely, I asked the host to get our check and she tracked down our server. The server magically showed up and quickly put a tablet showing our total in front of me. I signed her tablet, not putting a tip, as I only intended to tip according to the service given. I asked for an actual check with a breakdown, because the price looked a little higher than I expected. The server quickly returned and dropped the print out on my table then walked away. Wouldn't you know it, there was a 20% automatic gratuity, so I had to pay for service not given. In South Beach, I agree there should be an automatic gratuity, but it should come with service. I always tip according to service given and it's usually more than 20%. I gave one star for the food, it was above average. The other star for the warm greeting at the front. read more

Food was good but like other people said BE AWARE: they won't tell you the 20% tip is included in your bill!! They just bring the credit card machine and says the total WITHOUT saying tip was included. I asked my server if he can bring me a actual bills then he brought it up and looked very disappointed. I paid with my credit card and it also shows tip lines not saying additional tips? So if people don't ask for real bill they ended up paying 40% what a SCAM!!
