They weren't busy when we walked up so we were able to be seated really quickly. We chose outside but unfortunately the mist was blasting a bit too loud. My lychee martini was really good and sweet, and my chicken burrito bowl was good but some parts of the meal had a weird temperature. The server was attentive and nice with us. read more

Location is prime as it's right across from the Shelborne hotel, as well as the boardwalk and many other hotels. Seating is nice as you can choose from outside or inside which has a very tropical ambience. Service was slow but our waitress was nice and accommodating. Food was nothing to rave about, and the menu has basic American dishes. The wings were just traditional hot wings and the truffle fries lacked any truffle flavor. We had a few drinks here pre-dinner at another location, Augustina our server was excellent, she made our evening and had a great sense of humour, so much so that I wanted to cancel our reservation and eat at CA. Great location for people watching and drinks, with a decent menu. Tourist trap. Save time (and money) and head to a different spot. We were looking for a spot to grab a drink. I saw they had St. Germain on display so I asked them what kind of drinks they make with it. The bartender proceeded to tell me they don't have any drinks with St. Germaine They I asked why they had a bottle on display, and he said it's just for looks and told me there aren't any drinks. So I settled on a basic, over sugary mojito. After I placed my order for that, I noticed they had an open, almost empty bottle of St. Germain behind the bar. I just don't understand why the bartender would act like they don't make drinks with St. Germain. Just be honest and say you, personally, don't know how to make them. I would have been happy to tell you a recipe. Like I already eluded to, the mojito wasn't good. And the bummer thing about all this is you pay the same price here, for a very mediocre drink, as you would if you went to a cocktail bar. Skip it. read more

Wow...what a gem. Perfect location right on Collins close to our hotel. Ambiance and decor looked really cute so we decided to try. We are so glad we did!! The wedge salad was the most amazing salad I have ever had and the veggie pizza was also so fresh!! CA will NOT disappoint, this cafe has it all - excellent food, cocktails, and service - Ari, our waitress was phenomenal and very attentive, her suggested favorite dessert of Waffle Bread Pudding was delectable! We enjoyed our dinner so much we returned twice during our 3-day stay in Miami from Los Angeles. Risa served us at our second visit and was also magnifico. All ingredients, including the drinks were made from fresh ingredients and extremely tasty - compliments to the chef! We were staying at a hotel a block away and just decided to stop by on our walk. Food was very good and portions were large. We sat outside and people watched while we ate. One thing is, they should really have some kind of mosquito repellent for their outdoor seating. Within 5 minutes of sitting down I was bitten. I had almost 10 bites on my legs by the time we left. I constantly kept feeling them on my legs while I was trying to eat and that really ruined the meal for me. read more

Came in mid-week lunch time. Was greeted nicely and shown to a table in outside patio area which was less than half full. And there I sat. For over 10 minutes no one came by. A server finally came over and commented that he had seen me looking around for a server and now here he was - said with some attitude. He commented that I hadn't been waiting "that long". I wasn't going to say anything about the wait but after that comment I said I'd been waiting over 10 minutes. He said "no you haven't". I actually thought about getting up and walking out right then but didn't. For the rest of lunch he came by once to ask if I wanted another drink and then produced the check. It already had 20% included, if it wasn't I wouldn't have tipped 20%, because there was average service and I didn't expect attitude. I won't name the server but L - maybe less attitude and an upfront apology for the delay in starting service would have sufficed. Telling me I hadn't been waiting 10 Minutes wasn't good. Food- chicken burrito bowl was ok. Had very little chicken in it, but it was ok. I wouldn't recommend this place. Lots of other options so go there. read more

With so many options to chose walking down Miami Beach, this place caught my eye for brunch. It was a party of 3 and we were seated right away, our server approached us after about 15 minutes later. I was craving an iced coffee so I right away ordered an iced late. Drinks took about another 15-20 minutes and we had to ask for water multiple times. Once our drinks arrived we ordered our food in which I ordered the all American breakfast. Our food took a ridiculously long time as well. I ordered the very basics which was eggs potatoes and bacon while my other friends ordered a breakfast sandwich and quinoa bowl. Once we were done we noticed there was a 18% gratuity added which is fine if the service were to be better. I know this a norm for Miami Beach but I feel like because this gratuity is added- service declines. Overall, I would not be coming back here, food was just basic and the service was not good. read more

We received only flats, and they were some of the smallest wings I've ever been served. After bringing this to the staff's attention, we were told the manager would take 50% off the order. However, when the bill arrived, we were informed that the manager had already left and the discount could no longer be honored. Instead, we were given only the $4 happy hour discount, despite being promised otherwise. For our entrées, we ordered the brisket sandwich and the half chicken. Neither was worth ordering. The chicken lacked the crispy texture it was advertised to have, and the brisket was bland and without flavor. The sandwich was also supposed to come with truffle fries, but instead we were served cold, plain fries. After mentioning it, the solution was to bring us a side of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese and ask us to mix it ourselves. The service was equally disappointing. We asked our server twice for drink refills, but she never brought them. We eventually had to flag down another server just to get our beverages refilled. Overall, this was a frustrating dining experience from start to finish. Between the poor-quality food, unfulfilled promises regarding the bill, and inattentive service, this restaurant fell well below the standard I would expect from a Miami establishment. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves one. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues because the current level of food quality and customer service is simply unacceptable. and quality is embarrassing for miami.

What an awesome spot. We stayed at the Uma House connected to the restaurant which made Cafe Americano on Collins Ave. super convenient. In the 6 days of vacation we came here 5 times to eat. Each time the food was great. They obviously have multiple chefs and they each have a bit of a different style as we found out. Example - ordered the Huevos Rancheros two different mornings. They were assembled totally different with different levels of seasoning. Both were very good, although they were very different on flavor. Same with the breakfast potatoes. One chef is very heavy with the seasoning making them amazing, one of the others not so heavy with the seasoning so they were good but not amazing. 3 times we were lucky enough to have Alexandra as our server and she's a hard worker. Made our experience great and no complaints. If there was anything negative I could say is that the service can be a bit spotty as far as how often the server checks on you. Seems as though sometimes we waited a bit for things. Example - Ordered the endless Mimosas. At first I was waiting at least 5 minutes after finishing the drink before I was asked if I wanted another and then it was another 5 minutes to get it. Once Alexandra realized that I was able to drink the drink in literally 3 gulps/sips/ however you say it she then was more frequent with seeing how we were. There were other times as well where we waited but nothing outrageous. In the end we were on vacation so it's not like waiting for your coffee on the way to work, if it took an extra 3 minutes for something we didn't care. Cafe Americano is a gem of a restauran. the menu has great food offerings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. the dessert menu is a bit sparse but we were always full and never wanted to order dessert. The decor has a nice vibe inside and out and is one of the better spots for outdoor dining because of how they have shades and trees that align the outdoor patio. The wait staff is phenomenal. Everyone is friendly and the flow throughout the space with ease and little effort. We found CA because we arrived early for our check-in at a hotel across the street. So, CA was the closest place to and the food did not disappoint. Today Floiz was our waiter and she was very nice and accommodating. My wife didn't see regular coffee on the menu so she ordered an ice coffee. when she saw Floiz walk by with two cups of coffee for another patron, Floiz quickly changed our order. she also checked on all if her patrons and maintained a smile every time. The reviews that I read after my bad experience with this place confirms that while the food is good but overpriced the service sucks because the servers are getting the gratuity anyway. The management ( Marius) should seriously evaluate the attitude and customer service skills of their servers, or at least the one that served us ( Douglas) I asked him politely if it would be possible to add an egg yolk to my tuna tartare, and the server didn't even bother checking with the chef/ manager or at least making an effort to pretend to. The response felt dismissive and uninterested. The food for my party was good, but unfortunately the customer service completely ruined the experience. Because of this, I won't be recommending this place, nor will I be returning. BTW you can ask your server to remove that 20% "automated" gratuity if there is no service. They can't force it on you. Especially if they don't tell you ahead of time.
