What came out had a nice subtle creamy mushroom sauce instead of the truffle oil. That would have been okay, but without the unctuousness of the truffle oil the crust was too dry and lacking in flavor. Unfortunately, also the cheese has been changed as well. The cheese is no longer the tasty flavorful buttery semi-soft and creamy shredded scamorrza. It now has a pedestrian, flavorless, stretchy and stringy run-of-the-mill mozzarella. Sorry to say that Oste is no longer the 5 star pinsa of choice for me....unless they can revert or figure out how to change to a more delectable funghi pie. For those of us in the know...we can request and still order the original super delicious Funghi Pizza. After dessert, they brought the flowers out for us and my mother-in-law was so surprised and happy It honestly made the whole celebration feel extra special. There are other locations but this I think was the first one and since it was the one I frequented it's the one I will miss. I have so many fond memories of this restaurant. I came here as a little girl with my family because it was casual enough for a well mannered child but fancy enough to please the adults. One time I decided to get into shape. Every time someone asked me out for lunch or dinner I said I wanted to go to Il Fornaio. I would order a bowl of the vegetable soup or vegetarian soup of the day and the Regina Salad. The salad did wild arugula, couscous, avocado, red onions, capers, raisins, and lemon oil dressing. It was a fabulous and filling meal that also kept me skinny. I could honestly eat it every day and never get bored. During Covid I came here and we ate outside on the sidewalk. We enjoyed watching the pedestrian scene and "staying safe" while being able to eat out again. I really missed going out and I felt comfortable here which was important during Covid time. Every Halloween Il Fornaio would have 1/2 price pizza. My family made a tradition to order it. I LOVED this tradition and I'm going to miss it this Halloween. Their pizza was delicious. One time I came here with a boyfriend because they had a cooking class in the back. They had a huge entertainment room in the back of the restaurant. I wish I had a chance to have a special event here to rent it out. We had so much fun as we watched the chef talk about how to prepare each dish and what was even better is that we got to taste it in the end. We ate seabass with golden raisins, baked pasta with eggplant, and a cannoli for dessert. They even had a party souvenir which was an Il Fornaio plate to hang on the wall. Last time I came here was on the Fourth of July last year. It was also dine-la and they had the best deal of any of the dine-la restaurants. Not all the dine-la deals are good but this one truly was one of the best in terms of value for money. It was a three course meal with the most delicious fish entree. Who doesn't love a good deal? We had a fabulous time! Lastly, in recent years they added a happy hour menu to the restaurant and it was fabulous. I did another review on that so I'll keep it short here but the food and drinks were just wonderful. I will miss the friendly waiters who have been there forever. They don't make them like that anymore. Arrivederci to a true "classic"!

There are a lot of pretentious cocktail bars these days with "technique" and interesting ingredients, but falls short in flavor and execution. Dante is not one of those bars. It's the opposite. The servers including our waiter were attentive and helpful. Sadly, the food was a bit of hit and miss for me. The Frutti De Mare (seafood pasta) was disappointing. While it had beautiful presentation and large prawns, I didn't like the flavor of this dish. I wanted a fresh taste made of fresh aromatics such as tomatoes, basil, garlic, or shallots. The sauce was made of some kind of cream and the flavor was just lacking freshness. The shrimp was overcooked, and tasted previously frozen. This dish missed the mark on flavor and texture. My sister got the pan-seared halibut and that was better. The texture of the fish was good although I didn't particularly like the flavor. The bread service was my favorite part of the meal. The bread was made in-house according to our server and it did have the perfect balance of Japanese milk bread and a sourdough. That was a WINNER! The broccolini while generous in portion was just ok both in texture, flavor and creativity. I expected higher quality in the cooking and more creativity in the flavor profile for this type of restaurant. All in all, the sunset, ambiance and service were worth the visit!

The flavor profiles of corn, crème fraiche, and old bay were delicious. My only wish -- larger serving of this (smallest pasta serving on the menu). To complete it, banana pudding tiramisu -- delicious too with a firm center and oozy outside. Atala was wonderful and very sweet. Recommendation: come with a group of at least 4 to try more on the menu -- the large plates (branzino and ribeye) looked excellent! Definitely a worthwhile visit.

Light, refreshing, and tangy, a great way to start the meal. For pasta, we ordered the Spicy Pomodoro, Sweet Corn Agnolotti, Broccoli Bucatini, and the Cavatelli Finocchio. Honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite because every single one was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauces were flavorful, and each dish felt unique. My only complaint is that the portions are a little small. I understand they're meant for sharing, but to be honest I probably could have eaten all four by myself. At around $30 per plate, this definitely isn't a cheap meal. One thing that was a little disappointing was that it was my fiancée's birthday and I had noted it on the reservation. We noticed another table receiving what looked like a special birthday dessert, but nothing was mentioned for us. My fiancée didn't want me to ask about it, so we just let it go and ended up getting dessert elsewhere. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit of a letdown. Less influencer-driven, more elegant, loyal, repeat-customer kind of feel. I probably come to Spago twice a year, and it always feels special. This time, I brought friends visiting from Shanghai, and the evening became even more memorable when Chef Wolfgang Puck happened to chat with us and talked about his restaurant in Shanghai on the Bund. I just kept waiting for it to surprise me, and it never quite did. Then my Strascinati alle Ortiche arrived. Twisted pasta with lamb ragù, stinging nettles, and pecorino isn't exactly what I picture when I'm craving Italian food, but holy hell was it good. I even added sea salt to try to enhance the flavor, but it was still only average. The pizza wasn't bad, but it's not something I would order again. The drinks were fine and looked cute, but nothing particularly memorable. My favorite item was the beet salad. It was delicious and well balanced, with mixed greens, goat cheese, hazelnuts, and a balsamic vinaigrette. That was definitely the standout dish of the meal. Overall, the ambiance, decor, and presentation were better than the food itself. While it's a nice place to visit and enjoy the atmosphere, I probably wouldn't return for the food.
