The lamb souvlaki gyros are not lamb. The "lamb" is nothing more than cubes cut right off the beef cones. I've seen them do it. And the fries are soggy. read more

They say that they're authentic...LOL. There is NOTHING authentic about this place. The owner is from Nebraska, and has never been anywhere. The food is the typical shopping mall fare, with the prices jacked up. Don't waste your time. read more

Went in for lunch and the service was fantastic!! Wait staff and hostess were very accommodating when asked for a specific table. They were very busy but made every effort to accommodate our group. The food was great as usual and comes out so fast... food was out in about 5 minutes even though they were busy. Had the tilapia and shrimp with a salad. Food was delicious and if you've never had it it is well worth the price. I would highly recommend the Fort Collins location. Very pleased!!! read more

This is hands down one of my favorite place to eat! The service is outstanding and the food is so amazing. I have never once gone in and had a bad experience. When I go in it is always a very clean environment and the staff is all veryyyyy friendly. 5 stars to this restaurant for fooling most everyone into thinking this is good Greek food. Very disappointed. Lacked atmosphere and quality. The gyros were the only thing I could stomach. Olive hummus was more like a tapenade. I strongly suggest you take a visit to Taverna Greek Grill on College in Ft. Collins or if your ever in Michigan take a trip to Greektown, now that's what I'm talking about. read more

Quite disgusting food. Very, very overseasoned, mostly with cheap garlic powder. Gyros was stale and cold. Salad was very wilted and tired. Side dishes were fried in stale oil, the odor of which permiated the place, so we all had to shower when we got home. Food was good, service was ok. All was fine... Until within a couple of hours after eating there (and no other food or beverages in between) ALL 4 of us became very ill. None of us were together prior to dinner, so nothing else would have gotten us sick. Food poisoning? I won't be going back to find out. read more

I have to be honest, I did not expect such great tasting food when I first walked in...the restaurant did not have the "authentic" ambience. However, their Gyro sandwich is one of the best I've ever tasted, so I'm back to this place for lunch every time I'm in the area. It has become my absolute go-to lunch spot. Me, my husband, and three year old daughter went here for lunch the other day! We got there right when they opened at 11:00 and the staff was very friendly! The place was clean, and welcoming. We started out with the feisty feta appetizer which was amazing! My daughter enjoyed a cheese pizza, I got the Greek quesadilla, and my husband got a euro! This was a spur of the moment stop. We sure were glad we did. Service was superb. The food delicious. We even took home some of the gyro meat to enjoy later. If this place was closer I would eat here once a week at least. I was glad that I had seen someone else order the gyro salad because that way we knew to split it between 2 of us. Then the size was perfect. They had a few dishes on their menu that I had not tried previously. Tiropita was a very good appetizer and not to much but enough to share. If you are a dessert person you have to try the Bougatsa. Light, delicious and enough to share. read more

I think this is the best Greek food in northern Colorado. Although I haven't tried a lot of places, they seem to be few and far between. I had the gryo here and really enjoyed it. I've been to both the Fort Collins and the Loveland locations, I think that I like the atmosphere at the Loveland location better. Why is good Greek so hard to find in this area? Recently visited here with Greek friends who absolutely love it. We do, too. Atmosphere is unassuming but we've never had a meal we didn't enjoy. Great gyros and hamburgers, delicious avgolemeno and hummus, but the pastitsio is what really keeps me coming back. Portions are ample...plan for leftovers. My only complaint is the TVs. Why does every restaurant feel the need for televisions? Nobody is watching at Cafe Athens and they really detract from the rest of the experience. read more

I must be getting too old for this. When I go out to eat, the last thing I'm looking for is ambience and atmosphere. I go with good people, and I'm looking for FOOD. This place rocks. The food is authetic and good, and there's plenty of it. I can't believe anyone complains about fries-don't order them! Get a greek salad as your side and you won't have anything to complain about. (although I love their fries-dipped in tzaziki) My favorite item is the falafel, but I have yet to have anything I didn't like. Consistently delicious, good service, never have any complaints. We went to Cafe Athens for years, though we thought it a bit overpriced. The service got so bad that we stopped going. We actually had a server argue over giving us pita bread. I just wanted to let you know you should check your order before you leave!! I ordered a Falafal Gyro with feta and a Falafel gyro meal. I even asked before I left but didn't visually inspect it because I never had problems with the Loveland store. I got home and found out both sandwiches were lamb. I wont eat lamb. We started ordering their food when they first opened and were pleased with the quality and time to get your order. However, the longer they were open the saltier their food became. The last time we ordered food there we were so disappointed by the over seasoning that we have not gone back since. If you do order, you need to ask them to lighten up on the salt for fries, and other seasoned items. read more

This has been an establishment my mom and I have enjoyed eating at on our few and far between get-togethers since they opened. Unfortunately our most recent experience was horrid. We came in a solid hour before close. The server was clearly in a hurry to get us in and out. There were other staff members surrounding us with stacked chairs, sweeping 2 ft from our table, maybe once did our server check on us after we got our room temp, pre made food. We felt incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome. The cherry on top was the DISGUSTING kitchen staff. I've been a server for quite some time and have never encountered such a rude and unprofessional group of boys old enough to know better. We were sitting across from the area open between the kitchen and dining area. We heard kitchen employees shouting vulgar things to each other, laughing loudly, burping even louder, and when we thought things couldn't get any worse, one of them decided to make a loud retching noise for 15+ seconds. Around the same time, I made direct eye contact with one laughing kitchen employee, when he saw me looking his way he began laughing louder and joining in with his fellow employee. My mother and I were both disgusted and neither of us finished our meal. We've both been long time patrons of the restaurant but will not be returning due to the revolting way the staff decided to conduct themselves. It's sad to see a place go down hill like this. read more

Food was good (but extremely simple), and service was horrible. Waiter looked stoned (huge pupils, blank stare, forever to get a response, not even looking interested while we ordered.) Thought he could bring us a bill for three times the charges (wasn't even our table's bill) then asked if we "trusted him" to run the correct one without proving us the real bill and argued with us when we asked for the real bill. This is a scam and he knows it. Won't be back because of the lack of ethics the waiter showed trying to get a better tip and overcharge us. Service took forever (but food was out in 3 minutes flat...) The manager lady (tall woman with black spikey mohawk hair) has a major chip on her shoulder too. Used to like this place but something happened to their waitstaff's attitude and needs corrected before I ever consider going back especially with family. Just because people order water to drink, and have a coupon shouldn't mean you get treated like dirt. read more

Eh, I've had better and more authentic Greek food than what this place offers. I go here every now and again, but the last time I was here I was highly disappointed in the staff. I was shopping over at Super Target and thought I'd call in my order so that I could just run in and out. Well when I called I was put on hold......................and was forgotten about! I stayed on the line for as long as possible and even shouted into the phone for someone to hear me but to no avail. As I stayed on the phone I could hear all sorts of "private" conversations, so I finally hung up and I tried to call at least 5 more times after that and could not get through because the line was busy - with the ghost me still on the other line. When I walked in to place my order I told the hostess what had happened and she stared at me like a deer in the headlights. When she came to she apologized and went to go and look for the cordless phone. There was another customer waiting at the bar for her order and she mentioned that she had tried calling in too to place her order and kept getting a busy message. This young hostess failed miserably and had no other offerings except expedite my order. read more
