I'm frustrated. When they were in Kenwood, they had great portions and very reasonable prices... Since they've been at the new location, I've been there once and not sure I will be back. I ordered the Caesar salad (famous) and I was sad that it was more expensive and the portion was cut in half from the last time I was at their old location. We also ordered the half chicken and a salad. While the chicken was as good as ever, this was also much more expensive and not such a great deal as it once was. They also don't have their deli salads anymore...I just feel bad since we enjoyed them for years..maybe this will be read and taken to heart. Also, delivery capabilities are important these days (Uber eats, Door dash, Grub hub, etc.). Just an idea :) read more

We stumbled upon Cafe Citti as a happy accident! One of the girls who worked at En Guard actually recommended it to us and we would love to thank her if we could! It was everything we needed and more. The trick to surviving wine country is stuffing yourself with CARBS intermittently and boy did this not disappoint! My husband ordered a roast beef sandwich and I ordered the tuna and egg sandwich. We both chose the Fusilli and Feta pasta salad as our side. WOW! Just a perfect, yet so simple lunch. I ate the Calamari sandwich, per a recommendation by a friend even though it wasn't an official menu item. It was very filling and I had to take the other 1/2 home for later, so it was great to have leftovers! The sandwich was tasty, but I could have passed on the Artichoke salad. I was expecting it to be pickled, but the taste didn't pair well or sit with me well after here on a wine tasting. The bread we got beforehand was a good starter, especially to carb up between wine tastings in the area! The ambiance didn't add anything to my experience. Outside the restaurant is really cute, but the inside seemed very dark and somewhat run down. It seemed like a small mom and pop shop, so I appreciated that aspect. However, the low ceilings, carpet and tables/chairs didn't add to my experience-- hence only 4 stars. Would definitely recommend this place and glad to have stopped here on my trip! read more

I was recommended by a friend to try this place out, so I walked in and my first impression was not that great. Given that the person who greeted us didn't seem too friendly. Once we got seated to the back it was a very small but beautiful, the atmosphere was nice mind you it was cold but they had overhead heaters to keep us cozy. The waitress was okay better than the greeter. The food was not what I had expected the Alfredo sauce of good, the pesto not too good to my taste. Overall glad I tried this place for myself, most hole in the wall places are amazing. I would not go back here just did it for the experience and recommendation. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon after hiking sugarloaf with my dad. I'm on keto so options were limited given this is a delicious italian carb hub. Their roasted chicken was delicious! Side salad was abundant and the creamy Italian dressing went well. I hear their ceasar salad is delicious so I'll get that next time. My father really enjoyed his sandwich and potato salad, but the side was so big he couldn't finish it Service was very friendly and the staff is used to flipping tables quickly since it's such an intimate dining room. Lunch at the wine country... Came here after an event at the Lasseter Family Winery. This place was recommended to me by a co-worker and we just happened to be in the area of beautiful Sonoma Valley. Nice little Italian trattoria that served great family style food. It was hard to choose from a variety of choices on their menu. The menu is located right above the counter, handwritten on a whiteboard, and you place your order there, you don't pay yet (unless you're ordering take out). If dining in you find a table and your order will be served to you. You pay after your meal, your server will give you your bill. To go orders welcome and they also cater. The menu included soup, specialty pastas, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and specialty Italian desserts including Tiramisu, Crème Brûlée, cheesecake, cannoli, plus more. So we ordered a bowl of soupe du jour (soup of the day) which was minestrone and we shared a lasagne, Tuscan-style lasagna layered with bolognese, béchamel sauce and parmigiano reggiano cheese. Our server came with our food and we saw that the bowl of soup was huge! Hubby and I shared the soup (well, he had most of it). The lasagne was delicious and tasty too! Our server opened the lid of the grated cheese shaker (already on our table) and she said to feel free to use up all the cheese... they grate them fresh daily. Having said that we piled on the cheese. I love cheese! Also, if you want water you have to request it. Food was satisfying and we enjoyed our lunch. Got so full we didn't have room for dessert :( Interesting to know too that Cafe Citti was featured on the Food Network. I loved this place - I might classify it as one $ sign, not cheap but the same price for a sandwich anywhere you go in Sonoma County which is from $9 to $12. They have an abundant amount of side dishes to choose from - by no means typical of anywhere else I've 'ever' been - and I've been to many. Just a beautiful atmosphere, nice table set up with tablecloths. You go up to the front to order and the manager/owner - I'm guessing it's Dariat (sorry if I'm wrong about that - close) Super nice and friendly guy, very engaging. The place smells like when I was growing up at my friend's place, the Donitelli's or the Battaglia's, homemade Italian food. Delizioso! I always thought this place was more expensive, like tourist pricing, and pleased to find out that it's more locals driven with a delicious array of entree's, sandwiches, specialties of the house. I thought this restaurant would suffice a great Italian meal. But honestly I was disappointed. I had the linguine alle Scampi and honestly it was Acidy and too creamy. I usually don't eat Italian food when my wife and I go out because I cook it at home and sometimes I like to see and taste food from Italian restaurants. The servers were great but the quality of the food could of been much better. We were 6 of us and everyone had something negative to say about their meals. I'm not comparing this to Olive Garden which I think is a Disgrace to the Italian Cuisine, but it was close! Please improve on your Quality and it will get better. read more

I really liked this place so much better when it was situated in a crumbling roadhouse on the side of 12. What made it great were solid meals, nothing fancy or fussy, for a reasonable price. The food is the same now but the prices increased drastically. It's no longer the good deal it was. For example, the entrees that used to cost $16.95 they raised to $26.95. Is it me or is that a drastic increase? I'm effectively priced out of this place now, which is a bummer, as it was almost a real red sauce joint. read more

We were a big group of 16...I don't think this little eatery was equipped for us. Very tiny kitchen. It was really hard from the very beginning...We ordered at the counter, so our group stretched through the length on the inside, from door to counter! Not too practical. The menu was on these chalkboards that felt really overwhelming, under pressure to choose something quickly. Under "meat", I saw leek frittata only later to find out it's a sandwich...That's weird. And that I get a side with it, so I randomly chose something, so as not to hold up the enormous line. It felt like a long time until the food finally came. They plied us with bread and kalamata olives. Smart! We had our fill before our food arrived. I didn't care for the sandwich. It was impossible to eat without the egg sliding right off with every bite. I gave up and forego eating the focaccia and just ate the frittata. Meh, not a lot flavor. The stringbean was pickled. I wasn't too fond of that either. The artichoke pizza was okay. They do make excellent biscotti...nice and moist...At least, I think it was baked in house. Still as good as it used to be. The 1/2 and whole chicken are still popular. The pesto gnocchi is okay. The gnocchi had a nice consistency but the dish was a little salty. The smoked chicken I requested to be added was really good. It was like white meat bacon good. The seared yellow tuna ahi was okay. I expected it to be seared on the outside, medium rare or rare on the inside but it is full on pan-seared well done. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. There aren't sandwiches available for dinner (which I forgot about; it's too bad because their tuna and egg salad on focaccia is amazing). The tiramisu and Creme brûlée are really good. Tiramisu is flavorful and moist. The creme brûlée has a silky smooth consistency. Both are just sweet enough. Lastly, the waitstaff are all friendly and pleasant. read more

Family owned Italian restaurant across from Kenwood and Kunde vineyards off of Highway 12. The pasta was extremely fresh, the bread was delicious, we really enjoyed our dinner here. We topped dinner off with a chocolate mousse. Of course we each ordered a glass of wine and it was excellent. They also have quite and extensive take-out menu consisting of all their fresh sauces and pasta's and some salads. So if you're looking for a nice picnic, you can get everything to go. I've been a fan of Café Citti for 20 years. I used to have lunch there every day when I first moved to Kenwood. I'm sure I have eaten there at least 100 times. I tried the new location in Santa Rosa for the first time recently. The food is still as good as ever. It has personality. You can drive right past this cafe, but you definitely want to stop in for a wonderful freshly made lunch. The menu is large and it may take you a bit to select your choice. We decided to share a pizza. Home made from the crust to the marinara to the mozzarella. Once you place your order at the register you find a table and they bring your meal to you. While we waited, they brought out bread and butter- we enjoyed the olive oil and balsamic on the table with our bread. The kitchen staff had our meal out to us quickly and the service staff were friendly and refilled our drinks often (something I always appreciate). Oh my goodness. This is the place you want to eat. Order at the front and they serve you at your table. Everyone is super friendly as I was lost when I walked in. I ordered the ravioli. I really am crazy about this dish. Pasta that you can seriously taste that it's hand made. Cooked perfectly. Filled simply, but perfect. The SAUCE. Buttery, flavorful, smooth. I'm telling you, you want to be eating this, now. Five ravioli to a plate and it will get you satisfied, as they give you bread, olive oil and balsamic. I also got to eat some of the polenta. VERY good as well. Deep fried into a triangle, this was sneaky flavorful. Perfectly crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside. Went perfectly with the meat sauce which was simple and still very much had that good tomato flavor. I can't say enough about this place. I would be here all the time if I lived closer.
