Love meeting my friends/family here for brunch. No need to worry about splitting checks because you walk up and order at the counter. Coffee is good, especially their lattes with their cute art! I've enjoyed just about everything I've ordered here. One of my faves is the Lox Bagel that has cream cheese, smoked salmon, spinach, cucumbers, onions, and capers (I omit the onions). So delicious! This is best coffee place in Sacramento. I know that there is a strong Temple following, but I promise you if you try this place, you will not be disappointed. I have tried almost all the coffee shops in Sacramento, looking for the perfect place and I have finally found it. I order the Tiramisu Latte and the flavor was just out of this world good. I am pretty sure that the barista put cinnamon and cocoa powder on the bottom of the drink so when you get to the bottom, it's like just ending the most delicious slice of tiramisu. I will say don't get the muffins because they are extremely dry and unpleasant, which is why I took off one star. This place was pretty good. With breakfast being one of my favorite meals of the day, I randomly came across this place while passing through and wanting to try a new place. The restaurant felt a little bit more like a diner than a restaurant. But, it was spacious, service was fast and if you beat the rush, the line isn't too long. The food was good. I ordered eggs Benedict. They were a solid 4 stars, with salmon. Would definitely order again and recommend to others. Their cream cheese muffin was really good as well. I live close to this spot in Curtis Park and I love this place. It's my go to spot for a breakfast burrito or the Curtis Park Benedict with a cup of refillable coffee. It's not cheap but the outdoor seating and quality generally make it worthwhile. You order and then they bring out to you so generally good timely service. My mom asked Cristina where the bathroom was and she just said "over there" and moved her head, as if we work here too lol not sure if I'm coming back since it seems like all the younger adults that work there could care less if we come back or barely want to help customers. I use to like this place a lot more before they changed some items on the menu and hiked up their prices a lot. Plus I use to be able to order just plain green tea and now all their teas are flavored. I tend to like plain hot green tea with honey. I was also a fan of the variety in bagels and how they were served. I just loved a bagel with tomatoes and cucumber or sometimes I got the lox bagel with salmon. Recently I went with some friends for breakfast and I noticed I couldn't order any bagels, and they removed the chalkboard menu they had above the registers. This was disappointing because it gave it a neighborhood urban feel. Now they have regular menus with less options and it feels more corporate. I'm also not a big fan of tipping high here. You place your order at a register, get your own water or coffee, seat yourself with a number and yes they do bring you your food but that's the last you see of the staff. No one checks on you and you need to go up to the counters if you have any questions like more napkins, to go container or anything really. Which is why I don't feel compelled to give the regular 15 to 20 percent in tips. However the place is cute and the back patio is nice but the food isn't worth it unfortunately. read more

Came for a early breakfast with my husband and another couple. It was around 9am. Not too busy. We browsed the menu, ordered at the counter and sat at a table. Our friends ordered right after us but we were bummed when their food came out WAY after ours. We had to ask the workers if their order was almost ready as were trying to be polite and wait for our friend's food to begin eating ours. About 2-4 parties of customers who ordered AFTER our friends got their meals first. A bit frustrating as my husband and I food was cold by the time our friends came out. Ordered the Curtis Park Benedict $21 and the winter special pear French toast $20, small carrot orange juice $8 and small orange juice $8. Walked out spending about $60 That's a big ticket for breakfast Inside is nice with lots of seating. A bit disappointed with my experience at this Cafe. I've been looking forward to trying it since a lot of my friends like coming here but today was definitely a let down. Came for drinks and ordered an old fashion since they didn't have Baileys. Very disappointed in the Old Fashion but to be fair I should have known not to have high expectations of an old fashion at a Cafe. They brought me my drink and it was like a shot of an old fashion, not even half the glass. I was expecting a bit more for $14. I went in to switch my drink since I felt it was very little drink and really not a good flavor. When explaining to the person at the counter what the issue was I feel like she was rudely questioning me about why I wanted to switch out, she asked me if I was sure because she didn't want me to bring the next drink back. I ordered a White Russian and I understand it's a different Spirit but I know what I want. White Russian came out and it was definitely worth the switch, I will be coming back because I like giving places the benefit of the doubt but today just did not start well. Really great place for breakfast this morning!! My special "go to" was without power, so I decided to try someplace new. So glad that Yelp led me here!! I ordered Breakfast in Tijuana with fruit instead of potatoes. So delicious! I did have to get a refund on my coffee. So I used to love this place. Was my favorite place to go but over the years the more I go to it the more stingy they are on their drinks. They have favoritism towards certain group of people. And treat other groups of people poorly. I used to come here to get mimosas with my friends and they were hardy filled up all the way and then when I come today they didn't do that. I've been coming here for years and it just keeps getting worse! Let's start with the beer selection. It's dreadful! Every single beer on tap has one or more characteristics that completely overwhelm the flavor of beer. The chef has chosen to use experimental brewers who think making something that's just plain weird is a good thing. The idea of a traditional lager or pilsner is completely lost on them. Let's move on to the food. I enjoy a simple breakfast. Steak and eggs for example. The steak comes out with a whole lot of gristle and they just don't understand what "eggs over easy" means. I guess the taters are ok, but it's hard to enjoy something when 2/3 of the meal sucks. Moving on to their Signature Steak Sandwich...more gristle and pretty light on flavor! Obviously a low-grade cut of meat. The only good thing about this place is the outdoor seating, but the menu is such a huge detractor, I have absolutely no reason to go there unless it's to watch one of my friends choke down a crappy meal (while they complain about it). One of my bucket list items. It's been about 6 years since I deemed it necessary to come and visit. Within seconds of entering the staff guides you through the process of the way to order. The ambience of this little jewel is a bit modern yet elegant at the same time. Cool colors decorate the foyer. You may choose the area to your left after you enter or right. We decided to go left. Such a beautiful setting with the layout calmly enticing you to relax and unwind. After deciding what you want from the menu you walk up to the counter to order. We ended up getting a soup and sandwich combo with a generous portion of slice and diced fire potatoes. The turkey sandwich was amazing with large slices of avocado. Within minutes I could have just indulged in the half sandwich just by itself. Even though I ordered the split pea soup I was happy with the sandwich. There's nothing like a steaming hot cup of coffee from Temple coffee. It was such a pleasant surprise to see that they served the coffee here. Coming here in the morning helps you relax. My friend & I stopped in on Saturday for lunch. We chose Cafe Dantorels for their dog friendly outdoor seating and shaded seating. Parking when you arrive is street parking so be prepared for that. It's Midtown, so it is expected. Unsure where the "private lot" was as I didn't see it. Not a problem as my friend & I, although we arrived separate, we parked right behind each other. The setup is a little bit unusual but I can get used to it. Basically, you order first, pay and then seat yourself. I noticed that there is an additional register next to the line for ordering entrees which is the "drinks" line. I think one would only need to side step to the next line if it were busy as the sign suggests. I ordered their signature sandwich which was the Dantorels Grilled Chicken Sandwich which came with a mountain of fries and the lavender latte with oat milk. They serve Temple Coffee so you know it's good. I got my sandwich without cheese. My friend ordered the chicken fettuccine and an iced mocha. The cafe was fairly busy and packed. Looked like everyone decided to eat outdoors because it was beautifully sunny & warm. They do have indoor seating as well and it is seat yourself. Spacious inside. We sat outdoors as my friend brought her dog along and we noticed that there were other patrons who brought their dogs to sit outside too. The great thing about ordering first, paying and seating yourself is that you're not given that side eye look for staying too long after finishing up your meal because we sure stayed long to catch up! My friend said she liked her pasta and it was the only one that didn't have heavy cream in it. There is feta topping but you can ask that to be put on the side. She also enjoyed her iced mocha and had a good amount of the chocolate in it versus other places would leave a thick layer at the bottom. Overall I liked the cafe, the food, and the coffee and my friend did as well. They are open until 10 pm daily. Did we wait long for our food to arrive? Not really, it was an average 20 minute wait time. Our drinks came out first. There is an area where you can get your own water and to-go boxes if needed. My friend also noticed that they have pastries too. We are unsure if they're made in house or if they're from a local bakery. They also have a banana bread latte which sounds interesting in concept if you like banana bread (I don't). Wednesday, 3/16/2022 - Went for dinner at Cafe Dantorels with my very good friends. Been here before for brunch. But had to write another review for dinner. ;) We got different dishes this time. You have to order as soon as you walk in. There are clean menus by the door. Once you order, they give you a number. Pros: 1) Place is still very clean. 2) staffs are very nice. 3) you get your own water. There's a big water jug by the cashier, lots of clean cups next to it, and you pour your own water. Water tasted good. 4) our dinner plates were all very good. 5) I got the chicken pesto crepe. This was ok. Needed a little more salt as it was more on the plain side. But it was still good. 6) carrot cake and fruit cake was very moist and delicious. Tiramisu cake was more on the dry side, but still good. 7) there's a cute little waterfall in the back where we were sitting at. 8) after we ate, we sat and talked to catch up. It's definitely healthy. But nothing stood out. It was 19.50 for the order. . Harbour egg Benny, which is a Slab of Salmon grilled, topped with 2 poached egg, avocado, and breakfast potatoes. Which is 23 bucks. This is a good combo, if I come back that's what I will be ordering. So they messed up the egg with being over cooked. We were disappointed when we try to do out egg porn slow mo video. We did get 2 new eggs on the side to be redone over. . Hot latte, they use temple coffee l, so of course the latte was good. The barista did a great job. I was satisfied but it's on the pricier side like temple, it was about 6 something for the hot latte. No difference than going to the boutique. Just FYI. I'm a big coffee drinker and I'm usually picky too. But it was a good cup. . Overall we thought this place was pricey. The food is good. The coffee drinks was good too. The patio and tables look like they haven't been cleaned since, well ever. The flies and fly traps hanging above our head should have also been a sign to skip this place. Forgot the add vanilla to the coffee, delivered the turkey burger and another 15 minutes for the eggs, after we had to ask where the rest of the meal was. This was the first time I ordered "Smoke Salmon Toast". Which wasn't smoke salmon but was lox (lox is uncooked and brined) . The salt from the lox and capers over powered the taste of every thing else on toast. I would not order this dish again. read more
