Horrible service. We repeated our order twice after the cashier forgot one of our items while reading back our order. Other customers came after us and and got their food before we did. When our food finally arrived we were missing a plate. Asked the server about it, he said he forgot to charge us for it so we would have to pay first. Admitted his fault, but accused us of trying to hustle a free meal from him. Took our card and charged us for a hamburger (we were missing a cheaper plate of spaghetti). We located our original receipt which showed we did pay for all items ordered, so had to be refunded the overcharge. Finally after all of that the missing plate of food arrived. No apologies from anyone for the error in order, overcharging and accusations of trying to get a free meal. read more

Today, I found the most delicious omelet I've ever had. I ordered an off-menu curry chicken egg white omelet, a variation of the curry chicken crepe. The flavors were just incredible and unexpected. I love the nutella crepe. It's simple but real good. I also had the shrimp crepe. The sauce in the shrimp crepe was amazing and I dipped my potatos in it. I do think if you have this you should add a lil more to it and realize that the tomato pieces are pretty large. read more

Usually I don't make Yelp reviews but this one was needed. A new gal was taking my order and she had input my food incorrectly Which is fine, she was new. As one of the servers (a bigger set Hispanic older woman) came out with my food i processed to tell her my order was wrong. the sever then tell me that I'm wrong and didn't order that. I said "i come here all the time I know what I said and ordered. I do not mind pay for extra side of chicken. She then STILL continues to get razzled with me, gets really close to my face and is trying to argue about nothing! I state my statement Again, "I know what I ordered and I don't mind pay for the extra side of chicken" she was insane. she was really loud and made a fuzz out of anything. Also, finally when the Side of chicken came out it took 25 mins and I made sure to look at the time. I'm sure she did it on purpose. Not only was I understanding, but I also said I would pay. I really hope she find another job that is more suitable. she doesn't represent this restaurant well, because the food really is good! read more

I seriously love this place. The people that work there are super friendly and helpful. I come here pretty regularly so I get lots of friendly smiles from all the staff. Now I have tried a few different things from here, but the Turkey Burger has become my usual. I was a little skeptical when I ordered it for the first time since turkey burgers are pretty easy to mess up, but it turned out great. PLUS their Chipotle Mayo is to die for. Overall an amazing place that I love going too. My only little complaint is that they switched from using steak fries to shoestring fries which I don't really prefer... Im very impressed with Cafe Dantorels. This is my first time coming to a restaurant in two consecutive days! First of all the location is great and the interior is very nice inside. The menu is huge and they have a wide variety of choices. I got the San Francisco benedict and thr banana chocolate crepe and they were both amazing. The benedict was just delicious and filling and on top of that, the banana chocolate crepe was big and worth the price. The outdoor seating is very nice and the employees have excellent customer service. I definitely intend on coming back more often to try everything on their menu! read more

Really love the staff and ambience of this place but the food is lacking. They have turned over management and ownership several times the past few years and it seems they have a nice culture going now. It's a great meeting spot and they have free wifi, good coffee and an excellent selection of teas. The menu makes your mouth water and based on the looks and location of the place it shocks me that they don't take more pride in the food quality. Even their breads and pastries are stale and hard to chew. I still enjoy frequenting the place for meetings and writing and reading over coffee or tea but I make sure to eat beforehand. read more

Food is hit or miss here. Either will be delicious or cold. I've been many times to give it a chance but more often disappointed than not. Also, don't forget to ask for your extra sauces etc at the counter when you order because the servers that bring your food out seem very annoyed to have to make another trip. My wife and I stopped in for a Saturday brunch and came away extremely pleased. We sat on the sidewalk and thoroughly enjoyed every bite and every second. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Its always a plus when you see the managers on the floor paying attention to the guests and helping out whenever they can. To start, Cortado looked beautiful (masterpiece!) and tasted delicious. My eggs Benedict, were the best I have ever had, the eggs were poached to perfection and the homemade English muffins where amazing. I am having a hard time with this place now. I used to come to Dantorel's way back before when it was Crepeville. I have been a solid patron but the last two times were nothing to cheer. A week ago I tried calling in an order, a man answered the phone and asked if I would hold. I said yes. He continued to not put the phone on hold and just laid it down on the counter, then he took others' orders and I could hear each and every one. I stayed on the line for 12 minutes while I listened to him take orders from 6 groups, or at least I heard him greet people six times. I realized that I called at a bad time and hung up. I called at 11:40 am and hung up at 11:53. Today I called in an order at 11:15 and it was taken well. The last time I walked in and ordered a Greek Delight without tomatoes and a caprese salad on the side in place of potatoes. They took it that I didn't want tomatoes on the whole order and I realized my caprese was without tomatoes when I got back to work. This time, today, I requested on the phone that the crepe be without tomatoes but put tomatoes on the salad. She read it back to me as I explained it. I went and picked it up and I decided on a crispy cinnamon roll for a sweet afternoon snack. I spent $18 on my lunch and when I got back to my desk, there were double the tomatoes in my crepe which made it largely inedible and the crispy cinnamon roll was handled with a normal napkin which stick to it and made a majority of that inedible. I couldn't clean all the napkin off of it. Warm tomatoes in a crepe make my stomach turn and thatnis why I order it without tomatoes. Never going back, super disappointed and I feel robbed. read more

Upon pulling up in front I didn't expect much. Seems a bit trendy. Kinda the type of place that if you don't know somebody that knows about this place you wouldn't have come. Here for a Fathers Day celebration I decided what the heck. Place my order, fettuccine chicken with pasta sauce, and when it came out I was pleasantly surprised. Looked top shelf. Should be 4 stars bc the food and the ambiance is great, but the price is just out of control. They kill your wallet with every little thing such as tacking on and extra $2.50 for substituting potatoes for fruit.. The fruit isn't even worth $0.50. Also, the service is slow when it's busy and they often bring out one plate WAY before another plate, leaving half of the party with the predicament of either waiting until their food is cold or being finished before the last member gets their plate. Beers are great but again, at $6-$7 you will feel like you are at a baseball game. Place is great, and fine if you go once in a while to have a nice meal, but if they would just lower the prices on the extras a bit, I would eat here much more. read more

We recently visited this cafe and never going back. My gf orders a steak sandwich and after a lengthy wait of 25 minutes (not busy at 2:00pm) it arrives. She bites into it and it's not a steak sandwich, it's a greasy fat sandwich. The whole cut of cheap meat that was advertised as rib eye (not even close) was 80% FAT. She walks it back and they said they would redo it. No thanks, especially after the cook (don't ever confuse with a chef) served that cheap cut of low end fat. Ugg, never seen anything like it. I got eggs and while they were ok, I went back TWICE to get coffee I ordered and they did not make any. Sorry, we will never go back as the fat sandwich was just to gross. read more

I had a California burger at Dantorel's. It was fabulous ! The garlic fries tasted awesome and apparently better than anywhere ive ever had it. I also had a Pranqster on tap beer which tastes great with lunch and I got a "you killed the keg" card which let me get my next beer of any kind for only 1$ ! Great! read more

My bf & I came here because he was really craving a well made burger...SO! We get there to order and my bf asks the cashier (a young blonde girl with LONG eye lashes) if the Dantorels burger came with coleslaw inside of it and she said she thinks it comes with it inside and on the side, so he ordered it & he asked for it rare. I then ordered the Portabella Mushroom burger and she replies, "you know that's a vegetarian burger, right?" which was kind of odd of her to ask, as if I wasn't aware of that.. My bf was looking at what beers they have on tap and she rudely said, "we have a menu & pointed at it. OK, so we get our food and my not so surprisingly vegetarian burger was delicious! Now my bf's burger on the other hand was not only NOT rare like he asked, it was well, burnt on the outside and bland.. He added ketchup, salt & Tabasco and still not enough flavor! I know because I tried it. He didn't want to ask or let me ask for another burger because he's worked in restaurants and he knows how cooks and staff deal with "difficult" customers. I've been coming here with my husband for almost 3 years. I really want to like this place, great location and atmosphere, but we won't be coming here anymore. Their food quality is pretty subpar considering the prices. The last few times we've gone I am unhappy with the way the food is cooked and the quality of the ingredients and never finish my meal. On our last visit, we moved tables twice due to flies (outside and inside), and both tables weren't cleaned with not an employee in sight to assist us. Such a shame because with a little effort and care this place could be a gem. read more

Except they weren't busy when we arrived -- half full. And the manager then blamed the kitchen for the screw-ups with our order. And I had to ask twice for a refund of a tip that they hadn't earned. Worst. Service. Ever. Slow, inaccurate, and combative is no way to run a restaurant. Service at this restaurant has been going downhill over the past year or so. It went off a cliff today. I love this place for its food but the most frustrating part is ordering. To start they never seemed staffed or have a protocol of when to open the second register when the line is out the door. And the next frustrating is not with the staff or establishment put the people who are in line to order. They always get to the front and never seem to know what they want!
