Nice open spacious ambiance. It's self seating / first come first serve, which i personally think is hard for this kind of establishment, especially on weekends. I've seen multiple groups of people having to wait around for a table to clear or there's groups of 4+ but only a table that can seat 2 available. I hope they change their seating system, or at least have something in place for the weekend. The staff here are nice. You can order with a staff at the counter or order through the QR code at your table. Here's everything that we tried and what I think of them: Ube Latte 8/10 It was good. When ordering through the QR code, the sweeteness options are extra sweet, half sweet, and less sweet, in that order. I wish they had a percentage option instead. Ube French Toast 8.5/10 Delicious, I think they fry it. Steak & Fried Rice 6.5/10 Rice was room temp/almost cold and the steak was a little too salty for my liking. Steak Longevity Noodles 7/10 Steak had the same taste like the steak and fried rice dish, and was salty. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but the sauce was on the salty end as well. Silk Egg 6.5/10 Interesting dish. Not what we expected. It's a poached egg over what almost tastes like a tzatziki sauce. Comes with a Chinese fried donut to eat it. Side of Fries 10/10 Perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The white sauce (assuming aioli?) we dipped it with was good. It's nice they rotate their menu. Meter parking along the streets. The reason why this is not a full 5 stars was because the coffees, although good just not robust enough. Good though here was exceptional. 18 grams is one of my favorite local spots in Sac. I have been to all the locations and I used to frequent the Arden often when I worked down the street. This location is the one I prefer meeting up with friends because of the size and ambience. And I especially love Frankie Gamez' mural at this location (so beautiful!). Street parking is all around so it is fairly easy to find parking depending on the time of day. My go to meal here is the longanisa rice bowl with extra jalapeños, but I tried the Peach Phuzz pancakes on my last visit and loved them (especially the coconut whip on top). Granted, no pancake will be as good as the now defunct Harry's (still mourning over that closure but hope he's enjoying his retirement!) But if you're a pancake fan I recommend this one. The 1987 and Vietnamese Hazelnut are delicious, and their tea lattes are good too. For sweet items, I like their mochi muffins, and their ube & pandan cookies. Came in with my girlfriend during the weekend, after learning that her friend had a new location downtown. We've been to the original location in Elk Grove several times, and the one off Arden several times as well. And now the newest location located right behind the ice blooks. Space wise this is definitely their largest location to date, and includes a bar where you can actually get alcoholic drinks if that suits you. Because it was late morning and we'd just come from Jiu Jitsu class. We stopped in to grab ourselves some breakfast burritos for us and our boys. Decor was really nice and carried on the notable mural theme from the other 2 locations. Just slightly different like the other two, to make ir unique to this location. Breakfast burrito, bacon (2x) Breakfast burritos, sausage Overall: The burritos were bomb, and we'll definitely have to stop back in when in the area. I first heard about Forever from one of the foodie YouTubers I watch (Feed MeiMei) and of course I had to check it out shortly after watching her episode! I've had 18 Grams at their other location by Arden before and loved their coffee, so I was excited to try out their food. This location is in midtown, so finding parking is as expected for being centrally located. We came on a Sunday and it was bustling. The ube latte was a no-brainer to order, and I told my husband to order the Vietnamese hazelnut latte. To go with my ube latte, I promptly ordered the ube HK French toast, while my husband ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon, since he wanted something lighter. It ended up being the perfect choice for him since my toast was ginormous. We took a number and headed to find a table. Thankfully, there was a cozy corner spot, but man was the rest of the cafe packed. When my toast arrived, I honestly wasn't expecting it to be huge, but wow I definitely got my money's worth. It was the perfect amount of sweetness as well, since ube itself isn't too sweet. I've never been a fan of anything too sweet, so this was excellent. The toast itself was pillowy on the inside and crispy on the outside for a lovely crunch. I loved the amount of ube my French toast came with, and shared a few slices with my husband. The fruit was fresh as well. He enjoyed his breakfast burrito, and stated that it was filling without being heavy, and that the salsa was correctly done. As a native Mexican, he is picky about his salsas, and he said this was authentic. The coffees were delightfully strong yet well-balanced. The ube in my latte shone through nicely, and so did the hazelnut in my husband's latte. I loved that they served the lattes in glass cups when you dine in. We enjoyed some of our drinks while eating our brunch and then got the rest to go. While they bring your food and drinks to your table, you're expected to bus your own tables after you finish your meal, which was fine with us, as it streamlines the tasks for the workers. We rarely have brunch, but this place was delicious, and we will definitely be back to try some other dishes Forever has to offer! I absolutely adoreee this spot! I've tried a few things from them and found the Ube Latte to be my favorite! As a Filipina, I definitely feel like ube is misunderstood to be this overly sweet-tasting flavor, when in reality, it's much milder and nuttier. This place gets it right. Their food is also amazing! I love the Filipino influence in their dishes, and particular the longanisa sando is my favorite. Parking is tricky because it's metered and the infamous Sac parking folks are really on it in this neighborhood. There is usually plenty of space whenever I come, good for catching up with friends or for studying, which I've done both! The baristas and servers are always super kind and welcoming. I love their coffee shops so we were excited to try this spot. I was looking forward to try their custard filled French toast. Maybe in my head I thought the custard was going to be creamy and thick but it was dry and a very thin layer. Couldn't really taste it as it wasn't a creamy custard. Loved our visit here! Staff were friendly and accommodating, and patient as we took a bit to figure out what to order. You have to order first, pay, then grab a seat. They have pastries and sweet treats, entrees you can order, as well as a ton of different coffees, teas, and beverages. Seating was comfortable, though it was crowded when we arrived so we had to wait a few and jump on a table when one opened up. They also have a cute outdoor patio. It was hard to decide so we ordered a bunch! We got the steak and fried rice bowl, silk egg, avocado toast w/smoked salmon, a breakfast bowl (forget the name) and a breakfast sandwich with a side of fries. I forgot to photograph the last 2. We enjoyed our drinks, food and a few pastries. They also have plugs for you to plug in and work. I thought it was a regular sit-down restaurant, but it's actually self-service. You scan a QR code and order online. If that's the case, there really should be a bigger and clearer sign explaining that. Also, if customers are ordering online, there needs to be a visible WiFi sign posted. Service can be spotty depending on your carrier, and I had to walk up to ask for the WiFi password. That could've easily been avoided with better signage. I ordered the Loco Moco. The flavors were good, but my food came out cold. If the food is prepped ahead of time, it should at least be heated properly before serving. I upgraded to fried rice for an additional $3 charge. The staff was okay - the lady I spoke with wasn't snobby, which I appreciated. And I will say, they have really good iced coffee. Overall, it was a bittersweet experience. I was soooo excited to hear that 18 Grams has a new location right in downtown! It's part of the Ice Blocks that had been under construction for a few years facing S St. Even though it's a busy area, it wasn't hard to find street parking nearby. I got lucky with a paid meter spot right around the corner! We had a party of 3 at 11am on a Saturday and was able find a table easily. You're immediately greeted by the staff members behind the counter as you walk in. I ordered a longanisa sando and then sat out on the patio with my friends. There's a lot of seating outside, most bar height, with some guests bringing their pups! The interior is also a whole vibe, so I had to take a picture :) The longanisa sando was DELICIOUS. I love a brioche bun and theirs was so soft. The longanisa patty was just the right amount of sweet and savory. The egg was perfectly runny and the fries were crispy and extremely addicting. My friends ordered the loco moco which they didn't really enjoy. They said the gravy wasn't too flavorful, but I didn't try it so make of that what you will. Came back after a week to have brunch, same items ordered except for the grilled chicken rice bowl; flavorful marinade and tender sliced thigh meat. But the star of the day...Jumbo Joong! Sticky rice, red beans and pork for $18 bucks...heck looks like it's 18 lbs.! Only bummer was even though it's cooked, the won't heat it for you and you have to take it home to heat and eat, so had to order another lunch item, which was the chicken rice bowl. *joong only offered through the Lunar New Year Great service, good vibes and food here as usual today! Fast forward 6 hours...got home , opened up the Joong to slice for pan frying, and OMG it was sooo good. I normally just microwave the normal sized ones, but they insisted I try it pan fried. The light crisp created on each side was heavenly, and the pork tasted like it was roast pork. Even though it didn't have the traditional fillers (dried shrimp, Chinese sausage, salted egg yolk, dried scallops, fatty pork), this monstrosity of a joong was the best I've had. One of my go to coffee places. Forever seems to have all the things on the menu when it comes to matcha or any special coffees. I have gone to their other two locations (which is hit or miss for the drinks I want) and found that their downtown location is usually the best stocked on ingredients. They have a good breakfast menu selection (Filipino style). They have special events on certain weekends. It looks like people like to hang out there to work or just hang out. Love the decor, it is a vibe inside with the beautiful artwork. The amount of detail they put into the materials used and the tables and chairs make it a fun place to hang out; I even love the bathroom decor. Pros: one of my favorite drinks is the strawberry matcha. Sometimes I make it a dirty strawberry matcha (add an espresso) which helps me with focusing my attention for intense work days (it's a neuroscience hack; look up Em on the Brain). My other favorite drinks which is only during the holidays is Xmas in '87. I love their steak and fried rice dish. Full of flavor and their sauce is spicy. Another favorite is the loco moco. The staff are super friendly and they recognize me since I go pretty regularly. One time I forgot to get my drink hot and they made it cold. The staff member said it was no big deal and that he was willing to make it again even though I tried to pay for another one since it was my mistake. Happy to have an 18 Grams in midtown! I especially love their 1987 -- always my go-to. We also got their bfast sando, matcha latte and potato wedges, both very good. I would like to come back and dine in, as I love their food menu at their Arden location. Plenty of indoor seating and we found parking right away out front. read more

Came in not really expecting anything to be honest and never heard of the place until we looked up brunch spots. Honestly good on them for self seating and finding your own pace to sit down. We were able to wait a short 2-3 minutes and 2 tables happen to get up so our large party could sit together. The food and drink items came in good time not too long but not super quick. Ended up getting multiple mimosa crafts and a couple beers. Super chill and great playlist. read more
