Now for the main course... You have a special ... Eggplant parmesan with salad for $10.00 will fit the budget to a T! This is far and away our favorite restaurant in Cayucos, or anywhere for that matter. I have never in my life had Italian food that even comes close to comparing to the food here. We always start with the bruschetta- delicious garlic bread covered in fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic. It is absolutely incredible. The chicken parmigiana is a favorite main course- the chicken is tender and perfectly breaded and covered with more tomatoes and garlic and basil. All set over creamy Alfredo (and I don't even generally like Alfredo). Discovering a restaurant of this caliber in our tiny town was a true joy and we go back as often as possible. The employees and owners are super nice and attentive and every time we go, we have had an incredible all around experience. The desserts are amazing too. An interesting mix of casual dining, very elegant food, and moderate prices, topped with quick, efficient and polite service make this a pleasurable experience. We had the Shrimp Carbonara and the Chicken Marsala. Both entrees were outstanding. In addition, the bread was nice and fresh, and was served with a nice garlic butter and balsamic vinegar. I absolutely love Cafe Della Via. I love Italian food! I keep coming back to cafe for several reasons, first, they never disappoint. They are consistent, and this is so important to me. I eat out a lot, so to get great food, excellent service, and to have an ever changing wine list, is such a gift to restaurant diners in this community, and to those touring the Central Coast. I love that the staff is knowledgeable about the wine list. I appreciate the wide range of wines being sold, as well as the variety. Cafe Della Via also offers some of the best local brews on tap! The dessert choices are wonderful, absolutely fitting after an amazing bowl of pasta, and wonderful with a dessert wine, coffee, or espresso! I love the copper bar, the girls are the kindest company. Their whole group were so loud and rude, we wanted to leave, but we were starving and stayed. I gave 4 starts because the people working there were not friendly and were pretty rude. We eat there every time we are in town so to be treated the way we were was a bummer.. Not Friendly at all. We live in Morro Bay and have been here at least a half a dozen times. I don't recall the food being extraordinary but our adult son is visiting and we thought we go out later tonight. I just called to ask to make a reservation, and the person who answered said I had to talk to the owner, and then after being on hold for some time, I was hung up on. I called back and got "the owner" who said "we don't take reservations that aren't at least 24 hours in advance." I was offered to "come and and put your name on the list and see." No thanks. The food is good, the service has been mediocre, and because the place is large with nothing to absorb the sound it gets very loud. In summary, it's okay but not that great, and their reservation policy is a big turn off. read more
