I grabbed a Dubai mini bite size chocolate which I've been hearing was delicious. My friend was like hey might as well try it. $8 for a mini bite size bar was definitely not worth it and the taste was lacking. Even my friend was like nope this has no flavor and it's gross. Found this place on yelp while I was looking for a brunch spot in Solvang. I LOVE avocado toast and this place has the best avocado toast I've ever tried! I think they infuse lemon or lime juice with the mashed avocado. It also has some sprouts, sliced radishes, cherry tomatoes, sea salt, and cracked black pepper. It's really a treat! I also had turkish coffee which I didn't care for. It tasted really grainy. But the next day, I came back and ordered a Mexican cocoa latte. That was creamy and delicious. The outdoor eating area is also really cute and relaxing. They have a grassy area with an awning, tables, and benches. It's a perfect breakfast/brunch spot! They have a huge menu and they also serve smoothies, shakes, sandwiches, acai bowls, and gelato. My husband got the Gibraltar toast 2 days in a row. It's toast with almond butter, banana slices, black chia seeds, and a drizzle of honey. I tried his too and it's amazing! You can't go wrong with either toast. I really wanted to try the acai bowls, but I really can't say no to the Solvang toast. read more

Second attempt, the owner made sure I would never come back. I'm a local. My son wanted boba after we went to Paninos (never a bad time THERE). Went in, looked at the boba menu and went to order but the owner was on his phone. Waited. Ordered. Paid $8. Received NOT boba (see picture). Owner was so rude and ignored us after I paid so we just left. Would not have complained if the messed up drink was even halfway decent but it definitely was disgusting. So I left a review on Facebook where he ANGRILY responded within half an hour (attached to his phone, I'm not surprised) and told me not to come back because he can "tell what kind of people" we are before we even walk in, and he's been in business for 15 years. This is a town where people visit and leave after a day or two. Of course the tourists aren't going to know better. Hopefully some tourists read this review before trying them. (1) Way too overpriced . Even for a touristy place like Solvang. The baked good are okay and you can get them pretty much anywhere . nothing special. (2) Owner was way too rude, snobby and disrespectful. ( Not surprised to see at least 5 different reviews very similar to mine about this cafe ). Yelp has a way of sorting the reviews ( by default ) in a way that it might not show the recent bad reviews first. Wondering if this is deliberately done. The bacon is a joke, we got a side of bacon and we honestly don't know what it was. I ordered a veggie sandwich and it was very poorly made, they are busy that's for sure. The coffee was big but with the snacks there, it really does balance out everything. I asked the owner what is most popular and he said the Dubai Chocolate Baklawa. We bought 2 to share, and I myself bought 8 more to go. It was super delicious. Baklawa itself is sweet for me, but with the Turkish coffee, best combo. The ladies in my family have been going to Solvang every year for a dozen years, for a "girls' weekend." Six years ago we tried Cafe Dolce for the first time and fell in love! When we're there, we usually go in twice a day for the excellent coffee. We're huge fans of the baklava and it's very fun how they have new varieties every year for us to try. I also love the turkey panini sandwich, and the vegan gelato (I have a dairy allergy, so it's nice they have options). We've gotten very friendly with Miriam and Samir, a married couple who work there. They are both so sweet and Samir somehow always remembers our coffee orders year after year. We've all gotten so close to Miriam, we've sort of adopted her. She's so sweet and has always been so respectful to our mom. On the last day of our visit every year, after we check out of our hotel, we all got to Cafe Dolce, sit at the tables inside, and play card games together for a few hours. It's very nice. read more

We came here yesterday morning and had breakfast here for the first time and the food was also great. The place is rich in history with all the celebrity photos. First time coming here and most definitely my last. Stopped by to get a sandwich. I ordered the BLTA sandwich which is made of Bacon Lettuce Tomato Avocado and Mayo according to the menu. I asked for no Mayo and the owner (older gentleman) even repeated and acknowledged I asked for no mayo. The sandwich took quite some time to be made but when it was made I opened it up and of course it was covered in mayo. I went back to return it and remind the owner that I asked for no mayo and he then yelled at the lady in the back for making it wrong. The owner didn't seem to be in a good mood at all. After waiting again for quite some time a younger man brought me my new sandwich and said BLTA no mayo. I said thank you and went back to my table. When I opened my bag to check my sandwich it wasn't even the sandwich I ordered. It was a completely different sandwich. At this point I got tired of waiting for more of their mistakes but I knew asking for a refund would not go over well with the grumpy owner so I went back again and an even younger employee helped me. When I told him I got the wrong sandwich again the owner got mad again at everyone and had them remake the sandwich to the correct one. Finally I got my sandwich and went back to my table again only to find cheese in my sandwich this time. I'm severely lactose intolerant which is why I asked for no mayo and ordered this specific sandwich because there was no cheese in the ingredients. So they just decided to throw in cheese into it. The owner walked by my table and made a joke of "check the sandwich maybe the gave you a cheeseburger this time" Overall, very horrible service and the sandwich was nothing special not worth the wait.
