Turkish coffee and kanafeh (pls excuse my spelling)
    Hilary N.

10/10!! Sooo good and such great service! Saw some comments mentioning some staff being rude and I didn't see that at all. The family that owns it was so welcoming and fast with their service. They do a great job keeping the tables clean and presenting each item beautifully with nice plates and cups. Food look delicious so definitely trying that next time. My daughter was running all around and the staff was so sweet interacting making us feel comfortable so thanks again!

Tried the Arabic coffee. Get something sweet because it's real strong. Make sure you swirl the pot before you pour to get full flavor

Great baklava and smoothie but it was pretty overpriced ($20+ for both). Would return again if I was craving baklava and if I'm in the area though

Hot espresso served directly in a cold plastic cup. Tasted like chemicals.

Pros: Great ice cream for kids (McConnell's), accepts Apple Pay. Cons: Chaotic layout, rude service, and unsafe serving practices. I ordered an affogato and they poured hot espresso directly into a thin plastic cold drink cup. It tasted like melted plastic and chemicals, didn't finish it. When I offered to pay for a paper coffee cup to fix it, the staff was confrontational, made excuses they were low in stock, and argued with me. They also charged steeply for the coffee, punching in the $7 Americano versus the $5/$6 Drip. Overall, hits the spot for a kid's treat, but I would avoid ordering coffee or espresso here until they figure out their inventory and safety standards.

Cafe Dolce *December 13th, 2025 *2pm- Saturday *2 Stars Environment: *Located in Middle of Danish Town, Solvang *Indoor and Outdoor Seating *Forceful Staff Food/Drink: *Turkish Coffee *Baklava Dessert Assortment (4 pieces) I was really excited to try Cafe Dolce after seeing so many photos and videos online highlighting their Turkish coffee. I stopped in with my mom and sister, and we took our time looking over the menu and trying to understand the different coffee options available. Unfortunately, the experience felt rushed. The barista came off a bit abrasive and pushy, making us feel pressured to order before we had fully decided what we wanted. We ended up ordering a Turkish coffee and a four-piece baklava assortment, though I'm not even sure it was exactly what we wanted since the interaction felt so rushed. The baklava was good but nothing particularly memorable compared to others we've had before. The Turkish coffee was very grainy for my taste, which I know can be typical, but it wasn't something I personally enjoyed. While Turkish coffee is traditionally served in a small portion (around 2-4 oz), the $15 price felt steep. That said, watching the coffee being prepared was definitely the highlight of the visit. I'm glad I finally got to try Turkish coffee here, but overall, the experience didn't quite live up to my expectations, and I don't see myself returning anytime soon.

Walking in you are greeted by the BRIGHT atmosphere which is warm, cheery, and boastful of Turkish coffee aromas. An absolutely gorgeous assortment of baked goods includes stunning pistachio treats which - in all transparency I did not try - must be astoundingly delicious. The man who took our order welcomed us before we even made our order and the food came out FAST. The smoked salmon toast was beautifully crafted and the avocado toast presented a citrusy take which worked out just SO well. The flurona latte (espresso + turmeric + oat milk) is AMAZING AMAZING and so is the "Cut The Drama" fresh-made juice. The COVERED outdoor patio area has ample seating, is perfect for families/kids, and provided a chic ambience complete with string lighting. Would recommend a million times over and cannot wait to come back. Make Cafe Dolce your breakfast/brunch/coffee spot on Solvang!

Stopped by Café Dolce in Solvang and really enjoyed it! My wife ordered a macchiato, and I went with a double shot of espresso - both were smooth, rich, and well made. We also tried a few different assortments of baklava, and they were delicious. There are so many varieties to choose from, which made it fun to sample a few. The guy working behind the counter was friendly, quick, and efficient, which made the whole experience even better. Found out his name the next day when we returned again - Sam! He remembered us which felt great because you know he sees tons of customers in a day. The café has a nice, relaxed vibe and plenty of tempting options on the menu. I noticed they also offer breakfast bagel sandwiches, which looked great. So, my wife and I went back a second day and got breakfast. She got a bacon and egg panini and I got the Sam bagel. The Sam bagel was no lie, life changing! I would come back to Solvang just for this meal and the coffee!! Overall, a great little spot for coffee, breakfast, and sweets in Solvang. Sam is the man! Highly recommend for a mid-morning stop or afternoon pick-me-up!

I like everything related to Middle East. The sweet here is delicious with arabic coffee made on hot sand . Looking for something special and tasty come and visit Cafe Dolce.

    Danish Waffle & Sausage

The service is so friendly and welcoming. The Turkish coffee is made in the traditional way. The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My husband had their kunafeh and it was gooey, cheesy goodness. We are coming here every time we visit Solvang. Their panini sandwiches are delicious and the mocha boba is so chocolatey! You don't want to miss this special place on your trip to Solvang!!

Cafe Dolce is located inside the Solvang Village area conveniently located near all the shops. It's tucked back in the middle a bit hidden, but well worth the find as you uncover the gem of a shaded patio with tables for dining. The cafe has a good sized breakfast and lunch menu. After shopping all morning I was ready for a good panini and Cafe Dolce did not disappoint. I ordered a turkey/bacon and an Anthony Bourdain Mortadella sandwich. Service was very friendly and nice. My wife and I found a great spot in the pain with our small dog. The sandwiches arrived quickly and were still hot, with a wonderful aroma. Both were thick with their choice of meat. My turkey and bacon sandwich was delicious with ample amounts of bacon and avocado. My wife absolutely loved her mortadella sandwich. Portions were good-sized as I barely was able to eat all of my sandwich and my wife had to get a to go box. There are lots of good choices for Danish food in the area, but if you want a fantastic sandwich, go to Cafe Dolce

    Baklava and hot chocolate

We had an awesome treat this evening. A gentleman was very kind and he waited on us promptly. We had a baklava, hot chocolate, and some gelato. We ate outside in a very nice place. They have a very nice setting inside as well, but we preferred to eat outside tonight. The baklava was perfect, and we had a very pleasant time at this place.

Although nowadays spices are much more easier to come by (just drive down to your nearest supermarket!); many spices are still on the scarcer side and represent luxury. Have no fear, though, because you no longer have to board a ship and find the passage to the Middle East but can simply head to the Solvang Spice Merchant. Solvang Spice Merchant is a female-owned (shout out to girl bosses!) spice boutique located in the central hub of the famous Danish tourist city of Solvang near Santa Barbara. Opening its doors a couple years before the Covid pandemic in 2018; Solvang Spice Merchant not only survived but thrived with a brick and mortar storefront and an online shipping option (flat rate of $10 shipping no matter the size of purchase!). The business features hand-crafted spices and seasonings, teas, and foodie gift sets serving both tourists and Solvang residents, alike. My boyfriend and I ventured into the Solvang Spice Merchant when visiting Solvang from Los Angeles for the city's Christmas-time Julefest and gazed our eyes on a shop that would make any King or emperor proud. The store is filled with floor to ceiling shelves of spices/seasoning mixes categorized by country/region and then further sub-categorized by ingredients, styles (BBQ, Pickling, etc) available in various bottle sizes (plus some can be purchased at the counter in bulk, as well). If you can conceive a certain spice or seasoning, trust me that Solvang Spice Merchant has it! Even if you are not in the market for spices; the store is fun to browse and discover all of the spices from around the world. My personal spice journey has endlessly been looking for Garam Masala (an Indian spice) which I could have purchased at the Indian shop by my apartment in Los Angeles - but what fun is that?! It is much better to come across Garam Masala at Solvang Spice Merchant where the spices are combined by hand and with love while enjoying the world of spices! We purchased a 2.3 oz bottle (the smallest) of Garam Masala for $10.25 which isn't cheap: but expected from a boutique spice store. I have since used the spice mix on chicken, Steelhead trout and steamed veggies and it is absolute perfection and makes my apartment smell delightful with its warm spices. The only complaint? None of the two young females behind the counter welcomed us into the store, offered any samples (which I learned the store does indeed do), ask if we needed help, etc. Solvang's main gimmick is being a welcoming tourist city ESPECIALLY during Christmas as it is known as the, "Most Christmas-y City in the Nation". Unfortunately, that Hallmark Christmas movie customer service was absent the night of our visit. Despite this minor qualm; Solvang Spice Merchant is a charming spice shop fit for a King, emperor, sultan or just Averages Joes like you and I visiting Solvang. Not only will you find whatever spice your heart desires but you will have an enjoyable time simply scanning the shelves.
