I'm probably here 3-5x a week? They are literally my office, because my actual office (I work in Little Tokyo) is a windowless cave. The owner and staff are all amazing, community-minded people who care deeply about the Little Tokyo community, and do everything they can to support the neighborhood. They've also been like this since day 1, which is how I became a dulce stan from the get. I could talk forever about how amazing they all are, but this is yelp, here are the favorite foods (as a heads up - I don't have a sweet tooth!!! Most people talk about the dulce latte, or donuts - which are definitely all delicious. But for me, I get sugar-fatigued, so I stick to the following): COLD BREW. aka liquid gold!! this is my life blood, and main fuel source. because it's an 18-hour brew, it's naturally sweet and doesn't have the acidity you find in other coffee, so doesn't need anythiiing. KALE SALAD: this is my favorite salad in all of Little Tokyo!! if you wanna be decadent, add tuna, or chicken+avocado. as a warning - it has peanuts?? i've definitely almost killed two people (not a joke - someone had to use an EpiPen OOPS) BFAST BURRITO: it's delicious and also very good for the morning after a night of drinking. STEAK BURRITO ... as a bowl. I lub it so much. with the tortilla it felt like too much with the rice and beans ... but as a bowl, it's perfection. When I feel like breaking out of my norm (which is rare, but does happen) - I like to do the pesto chicken, or the portobello burger. but honestly all their food is delicious, you can't really go wrong. read more

This review is for lunch. It's about my 3rd time here and today my coworkers and I shared a few different menu items. The Spicy Korean Cheesesteak is so good (5/5) and the small side of Mango Jicama Salad that comes with the sandwich is a nice, light, and tasty addition. The Spicy Chicken Cheesesteak was also good (4/5 because the kimchi and sweet chili sauce tastes better with beef than chicken to me). The Peanut Kale Salad was definitely missing ingredients. I saw maybe 2 pieces of tomato and a few peanuts with the dressing (2/5 good peanut dressing but definitely lacking ingredients). Have yet to try and baked good or drinks! read more

As a donut aficionado, I have to say, these were the BEST I have ever had in the US. So much so that I had to research where my clients got them. Thank goodness I now work part time downtown so I can go and grab some to stare at and offer to friends since I really am not supposed to eat them. These were light, airy and bursting with flavor. After finishing my class in General Assembly (new office location opened in the heart of little Tokyo!!) I was lurking around the area around 9:00pm. Many shops were closing and I decided to go check this donut/cafe shop - that I've always "pass" by-and OMYGAWD. It was amazing!!!!!!! Hands down the best hongkong style milktea I've tasted- they really know how to make the tea with strainin actual tea and everything!!! It wasn't overwhelming strong tea flavor (or too sweet), the warm milk consistency was real smooth and well balanced, it was definitely not a pre-mix milk tea, it was just so fresh and pleasant. Anddd The donut. The DONUT. I usually hate donuts but this place had amazing donut. I had small donut with bacon (I almost cried because the flavor was soooo satisfying). It sounds funny, but I gave the benefit of doubts and tried- and it was soooo worth it!!! Sweet and salty!!! I also had maple donut with Macedonian nuts (amazing!!!), and the tapioca ball shaped bread. I will definitely definitely recommend this place and will come back to try rest of donuts!!!! -they have wacky donuts like donut with fruity pebbles and cinnamon captain crunch..etc.. We ordered Janbon de Paris sandwich and Caprese Salad but it seemed like it was taking longer than it should take so checked with the cashier again. She said she forgot to place an order to the kitchen. She was very apologetic and offered some donut. We decided to get it to go at that point and got them. We found out later she gave us another free bread together. Food was high quality and yummy! Service was not perfect in the beginning because she was so busy but in the end it was not a problem at all because we could feel that she does care about the customers! read more

Café Dulce is one of the liveliest locales in LA, especially on the weekends when the area can be a little dead during the day. I'm really impressed by their wide assortment of brunch specialties on their menu, and so far everything I've tried has been delicious. My friend recommended I'd come here, definitely glad I listened. It has the best pastries ever! I tried the Vietnamese Styled Iced Coffee but, it was too sweet for my likings. I bought a fruity pebble donut hole and had to go back to buy more for my trip back home. The cinnamon toast crunch and hazelnut crumble are amazing too! It is really cheap too which is great. The quality of the bread is probably the best I've ever had. Its so fluffy and full of flavor. Definitely recommend for a nice morning stroll in Little Tokyo. read more

Waited 15 minutes for a pair of Iced Vietnamese Coffees, only to have to sit through a thinly veiled lecture on caffeine and sugar from a very pretentious barista as he attempted to make a show, somehow, of pouring the coffee into the plastic cups. He then did not bother to finish the job, walking away leaving the cups sitting there with no lids or straws, which were right next to him. After completing his job for him, one sip proved the concoction far inferior to the caliber of Lee's Sandwiches, who charges less than half what this little spiffy place does. Perhaps they have tasty pastries and such, but I won't know because I won't be going back. Customer experience does count as much as quality, and Cafe Dulce did not pass either test. We looked around and saw all the pastries and then this guy named EZ asked us if we had any questions. We asked about the dinosaur egg and the green tea round bun (roti?) and he was so helpful! We had our minds set on the dinosaur egg and the green bun BUT EZ was like wait guys... "Do you like sweets?" And we were like, "Yeah, we like sweets" so then he was like, "have you guys tried the strawberry donut?" And at first I was like mmmm I was really feeling a donut at the time but then he said he liked it so much they even had a pin for it. SO, then we were like okay! I really wanted to love the pastries, but I found them to be just okay. I've tried the matcha donut, pumpkin roti, and matcha brick toast here, they all tasted pretty boring tbh. The matcha donut and brick toast lacked the strong matcha flavor that I desired; instead, the matcha flavor was pretty subtle. The pumpkin roti had a really good filling, but there wasn't enough of it. I found it to be too bread-y. If it had more filling though, it would be perfect. Overall, I don't think I'd come here again, but I'm glad I tried it. read more

I first stopped over to Cafe Dulce with a group of friends and they got some strawberry donuts and left. I didn't get the chance to try it at the time but I went back today to get two for myself, today! If you're walking around Little Tokyo and you want a fruity sweet snack that isn't mochi, I definitely recommend getting the Strawberry Donut! Its cute and pink with some chocolate drizzled on top. The inside is filled with cut strawberries and strawberry jam/jelly, so you're getting a mouth full of sugar with every bite (almost too much sugar, definately don't recommend to people who don't have a sweet tooth!). With the chocolate its like you're getting a goo-y chocolate strawberry, I honestly wish I bought some more! A quick note though, the cafe only takes card for purchases over 5 dollars! It also serves as an excuse to get two donuts instead of one. ; P Definitely coming back again when I make another trip down to LT. read more

I am a fan of Cafe Dulce. I am not a frequent coffee drinker, but I came here with my grandpa because he is a huge fan of coffee. The place itself is quite small, but there are stools inside and tables outside for you. I ordered a cappuccino and straight up black coffee for my grandpa. The place was super busy, and you could tell that they get a LOT of customers. We also ordered a green tea donut - which was tasty. The orders all came out in cute little containers, and looked like something you'd put on instagram! Drinks were great, the dessert was good as well. Environment was nice, the place looks exceptionally clean and ¨in.¨ Also, don't forget to tip your barista!! The guy who made my drink was extremely kind and helped me pick out a dessert.
