A great service and great food opens at 6:30 in the morning yay

Best pastries!!! I love it all and best of all it's across the street from Carlsbad beach. Let's grab some food enjoy the fire pit ambience or Walk down to the beach share some dessert. Hats off chef. I want to take you home to Arizona, but that would be wrong. I tried the raspberry macaroons the heart truffles. Everything here is just worth it. My friend got the chocolate croissant!! I did enjoy omelette with salad- very good it made my Trainor happy and it balanced the calories.

For a great beach location I was expecting better food. It was good, but plain. Whenever I eat at a restaurant, my hope is that the food is better than I can cook at home. This just tasted like homemade basic food. No complaints about the food at all, it just didn't impress me. Only ONE restroom in the whole place was unrealistic with so many tables packed into a tight space. It would be difficult to manage a wheelchair or walker through this place. I will say that the service was friendly and kind. It is a more relaxed less fancy environment than some of the other places but I wasn't super impressed.

Very kind workers, fast, and the pastries all looked really good. I'd come back earlier in the day next time to try out some of their breakfast. I came closer to closing and they still served my friend and I with a smile on their face. Nice outdoor seating and they have their own parking on the side of the building. A great spot to pop in and take a walk down to the beach with your coffee. Public restroom, and their delicious almond horse shoe, marzipan dipped in chocolate was very delicious. It was wheat free but not celiac friendly because it is cross contaminated with the other pastries which I am happy they informed me about. Had a very delicious berry iced tea with my sweet treat.

Came on a Sunday morning around 10am for breakfast. You order at the counter and find a seat, it's a fast paced environment (line moved fast) with slow cooked food (took some time for the food to come out), just like eating at home! Everything was fresh and great pricing for portion sizes. Got the veggie scramble with a side of fruit and there was a great size fruit serving. Also got the veggie omelet which I will get cheese in next time and the hash browns which were toasted! A wild berry smoothie and a frozen blended chai will def keep me coming back to this cute little neighborhood spot. Next time I'd love to try to grab some beach sandwiches to go!

Came here for a casual family breakfast. It was packed on a Saturday morning, but service was still quick and friendly! It is a counter-order spot with casual self-seating. I noticed they have a very large menu with decent prices, covering breakfast, lunch, coffee, and various other beverages, snacks, and a huge pastry display. Opting for the Adi's plate and a Banana-Rama mocha, I found the food to be quite plain, though I suppose that's on me for my order choice. The mocha was tasty but nothing spectacular. Overall I enjoyed the environment and would return to try a different meal!

Cafe Elysa blew us away. We were trying hard to find both a breakfast place and a place that has good coffee. Luckily for us, both happened to be at Cafe Elysa. The snickers latte was one of the best lattes I've ever had. It is definitely a vacation treat, but very worth it. They do not cut any corners, these breakfast sandwiches were full to the brim. I don't eat much meat so I asked for avocado instead of sausage in my Spicy Breakfast Sandwich. It is really rare to not be charged for subbing a protein for avocado (even though it makes sense). These sandwiches were so quality, and you can't beat the location!

You order at the counter then they give you a number that you display on your table. I ordered the Egg Plate breakfast with my eggs scrambled, crispy bacon and half fruit and half hash browns. The eggs were cooked nicely. The quantity appears less than normal. The bacon was 70% crispy. The hash browns were cooked perfectly but needs some seasoning. The fruit was hit and miss. Most of the strawberry pieces had brown spots and the honeydew pieces were a little slimy. They brought my breakfast quickly and they have a beautiful patio to enjoy it.

Service was fast and friendly even on a busy day. You have to find your own table but the patio area was beautiful. We ordered for different dishes with mixed reviews. My daughter loves her spinach and egg croissant sandwich. My wife and I were underwhelmed by the breakfast burrito and veggie scramble. Just lacked flavor and mine was heavy on red onions. Peppermint mocha was perfect according to the kid.

Lived in Carlsbad my entire life and have never been here before. Took my mom here for a little birthday breakfast after a beautiful beach walk on the sea wall. Got Carlsbad Benedit and my mom got the two egged breakfast with bacon. The bacon looked a little under cooked and the meal took over 35 minutes to come out. I will definitely be back though to try some different items on the menu! Overall a reasonable price point, was $35 for the both of us.

A local Cafe that brings you a great selection for breakfast and lunch, especially as a vegetarian. I was here to order a chocolate croissant, early bird breakfast sandwich, and a coffee, but they have cold and hot veggie sandwiches that I totally want to try. They also have pancakes, waffles, crepes, and smoothies. Their croissants are taken fresh, a young lady was seen buttering them up and popping them in the oven. There's plenty of tables to eat outside and only one bathroom. The service was friendly and kind. The chocolate croissant was great! Still warm chocolate inside. The breakfast sandwich was absolutely perfectly made. The egg was SO fluffy and the sourdough was perfectly toasted. We will be back!

She even checked on me while I was waiting and brought my drink without any issue. The salad? Honestly, really good. I asked for extra feta (and didn't mind paying for it), and they didn't disappoint. No complaints about the food. Now the not-so-great part... The service was slow. Like... noticeably slow. I sat there waiting long enough to start debating if I should just pay for my drink and go somewhere else. Eventually the server showed up, I ordered, and yeah--the food was good, but the wait kind of killed the vibe. What really didn't sit right with me was waiting forever just to get my check. Someone who came in after me got theirs first, and I'm just sitting there like... I have to get to work. Then when I finally get my bill, the server tells me I can go pay at the counter--as if I didn't already know how that works. Overall, the food was good, but the experience? Just... meh. Not terrible, not great. I'm honestly not sure if I'll be back.

Everything tasted very good, I enjoyed my side of hash browns, however I prefer them to be a little crunchier. They tasted great regardless. I will say they were superrrr busy, so do expect to wait if you go on a weekend morning. I think they might use bleach to clean the tables, which I'm glad they disinfect between patrons but the table smelled like bleach the whole time, so if that's something that bothers you, maybe ask to sit inside? The pastries are definitely on the higher-priced side and we weren't too hungry, so we opted for the strawberry croissant since it was the last one left. I was hoping to try their cinnamon roll, as it looked amazing and had a selection of flavors to pick from. The lady who helped us was friendly and packed the croissant for me, and we took it to go. The strawberry croissant had some vanilla cream along with strawberry slices in the center cut of the croissant. The cream was nice, light, and not overly sweet, which tasted great with the strawberry. The croissant was a little disappointing, as it wasn't flaky, very dense, and on the softer side. It still had a good buttery flavor but overall it was mid. As we continued eating, I ended up chewing on something plasticky, and I believe it might have been the front cut of a plastic piping bag. I'm glad it was a fairly small piece or else I probably would have swallowed it...It is disappointing that a big piece of plastic ended up in the cream where no one had caught it during the process of making it.

It's tough to get a table for a weekend noon. I booked our reservation a few weeks ahead of time. Parking is either near the train tracks across the street or on the curb. We got the egg dish and salad bowl. The yogurt for the eggs was deliciously spiced; dipping in the toasted bread into the gooey poached egg, creamy yogurt, and herbs was delicious! My issue with this dish were the herbs that were too large. Was I expected to stick a big piece of herb on my toast? The dish is saucy with the chili oil so my clothes were dirty with the oil covered herbs. Chop the herbs smaller for practicality! Another dish suffered from the execution. We got the bowl which I thought was going to be a grain bowl. Rather, it was a ridiculously-sized salad--as much leaves as a pack from the grocery store! There were toppings within like slices of avocado, pieces of orange, farro, and nuts. I felt like I was trying to treasure hunt to look for these pieces. The salad was comically oversized. It was dressed fine but suffered from the portion size. You could see this theme with the French toast too where you get 1/3 of a baked bread. I'm honestly confused by this chef who has amazing experience. Why do you construct dishes that are difficult and impractical to eat? Less is more. These dishes need extensive edits. How this place got Bib Gourmand is honestly surprising to me.
