What I dislike most about "Cafe Fina" is that you are required to get up from your seat and walk 2 rooms away to get napkins, knives, spoons, forks, or condiments. That may work for McDonald's selling $4.00 burgers but, to require that I leave my seat in order to enjoy a $12.00 burger is presumptuous. You can't have it both ways. We've always had exceptional service here...even with COVID around, they never cease to amaze me. The food is always fresh and so tasty! I can order online, which I've done mostly these days, drive up to their drive-thru and get a safe hand off of some of the most delicious food around! If I don't want to wait in a long drive-thru line (because they are usually so very popular and busy) I can park our front and they deliver our food curbside! Most mornings I order the Green Chile Breakfast burrito add beans and it's on point! For lunches, we get their Green Chile Burger, you can do half fries and half salad which I always like. We went at about 11 or 12, I'd say (?), and it was not packed. We order, sat, and got our food in about 15 minutes max. Oh, dear lord. The Cloud Cakes. They were LITERALLY the best pancakes I've ever had, and I'm just waiting for Wednesday so I can go get them again... I ordered a "green" breakfast burrito which had no green chili sauce, just some canned green chili scattered around. Definite not New Mexico style, and I've lived here 40 years. But my main complaint was that the food was so salty as to be practically inedible. And a couple of hours after eating I had bad diarrhea. Needless to say, I won't eat there again. my partner had a grilled chicken sandwich was also too salty, but it didn't make him sick. read more

We were camping near by and wanted to get a good meal we could carry out. Cafe Fina did not disappoint We ordered at the drive up window, pulled around and waited maybe 15 minutes and drove back to our campsite. So I can't say enough good about this place! The food is absolutely superb, all of it. That includes the pies, pastries, and the main dishes. The staff are friendly attentive, and even when the place is packed you get your food quickly, and with a smile!! We travel a great deal, and after the Covid pandemic, many restaurants, unfortunately have fallen by the wayside or altogether closed. Where once we enjoyed driving through particular states just to get to a location and eat at our favorite restaurant, we find now either it doesn't exist anymore or isn't what it used to be.... certainly not the case for Cafe Fina. Cafe Fina was recommended to us by our air bnb host as a great place to relax and stop for breakfast and she was 100% correct. Its a little cafe on the side of the road and when you walk in your are greeted by a friendly staff and the smell of delicious food cooking. We ordered a breakfast burrito to share as we weren't too hungry and it was the perfect amount for both of us. It came with nice crispy hashbrowns and the green and red chili sauce was excellent. I found this place to be very relaxing and could see myself spending hours here drinking coffee and reading a book or getting some work done. I would highly recommend getting the coffee here as it was some of the best we had in Santa Fe. read more

Stop #9 of 12 of New Mexico Food Trip Extravaganza 2015 I LOVED my ricotta pancakes, which they call cloud cakes. They were the best pancakes of the trip, which is saying a lot since I really enjoyed my blue corn pinon pancakes at the Plaza Cafe in Santa Fe. The cloud cakes were perfectly fluffy - fluffier than the Bisquick ones at home - and served with bluebs, strawbs, and raspbs and real maple syrup. The husband got huevos motulenos which consists of beans, tortillas, egg, New Mexico feta cheese, peas, banana, and green chile. The combination was not as good as chilaquiles, and overall they were just okay. My husband gave his dish three stars; I give mine five, so I guess Cafe Fina gets four overall. (If only my husband had ordered correctly - a.k.a. gotten what I did.) We took some oatmeal raisin and wedding cookies to go. I REALLY wanted to like this place - it's local, cute-sounding and I've heard locals rave about it. But don't drive out here from Santa Fe, not worth it. Go to Harry's if you need to eat outside of town. Here's how it went down. We order a burger and fish sandwich. First, the cashier took it upon herself to add 'split' fries/salad on both our orders when I specifically asked for fries on one sandwich, and salad on the other. Even when I corrected her when she read the order back, she wouldn't change it. Fine, that's an extra dollar upcharge and she slipped that in there. Second, we get short changed with our gift certificate. Cashier subtracted the certificate wrong. Ok, mistakes happen. Then she counts out the change and keeps another dollar. At that point, my boyfriend and I look at each other, like seriously?! Oh, and I also asked for hot water and never got it. Tap water tastes really gross here unfortunately, it's not filtered. We sit at an unwiped down table. Food average at best. Fries seemed like they were out of a frozen package. Burger was good, so was the fish sandwich. Lots of older people eat here and perhaps that's how this place stays in business. Maybe El Dorado has very few options. We won't be going back here, Santa Fe is a foodie town with LOTS of other options. read more

We've been in Santa Fe is about a week and have dined at many of the best regarded restaurants in town. Some local friends steered us to Cafe Fina and we are so glad that they did. Great service, great food, bright friendly environment. Don't leave Sante Fe without checking out this lovely restaurant. This little place right off of HWY 25 10-15 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. They specialize in breakfast, lunch and terrific baked goods. Open for dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I ordered the Huevos Motulenos. This is a dish of over easy organic eggs on a corn tortilla with black beans, nm feta cheese, peas, sautéed bananas and red or green chile. I ordered it Christmas style which mean some of both chiles. It was AWESOME. Finally, creative New Mexican cuisine that had it all. High quality ingredients, flavors that work so well together. This place isn't hyped like so many other restaurants in town and maybe that's why it shines so bright. Oh, the Migas were really good too. Corn cakes with Chipotle Marinated Shrimp was delicious! Great (but strong) coffee of course. We came back in the afternoon because we just knew we had to try one of their desserts. Now, about the pie. Pick a flavor you like. Order it and get ready to smile. They make great pie, from filling to crust. In fact, all of the baked goods looked great. We had the meyer lemon and strawberry rhubarb pies. Too good to describe. I'm had good food at this place, but after a year they haven't figured out how to manage to go orders. We got a green chili cheeseburger and a chicken sandwich. It was all pretty bad. The burger was rare, not medium. The salad had fresh greens, but no dressing. The chicken sandwich was soggy and the bacon on it was tough. Worst of all, the fries were terrible. I've seriously had better fries at Macdonalds. They were obviously made hours earlier and then sat and got tough and dried out. In addition, the takeout boxes are a single compartment and they just sort of dump the food in. The sandwiches slide around and come apart. You could, you know, WRAP the sandwiches in paper, like say, Burger King(!) does. I'm trying to support local businesses during the pandemic, but I will not be getting take out from Cafe Fina again. Ten months is long enough to figure out how to do this. The food and my impression of it is that CF is just not trying very hard to get this right. read more

This is a truly wonderful café, we came twice on our vacation, it is very modern with contemporary art, and a sleek design. There is a counter full of delicious goodies quiches, pies, baked goods. The menu has lots of different things on it, and I ordered the most delicious corn cakes with shrimp. When it came out, it had two large corn cakes topped with caramelized onion, spinach, sautéed zucchini, and yummy spiced shrimp. Topped with a fresh salsa. Flavors worked and I was extremely satisfied. My four-year-old had the kids bean quesadilla which came with guacamole and sour cream, he loved it. On the second visit I had chopped salad with grilled chicken breast friend it was very good. My four-year-old had the kids cheeseburger with fries this time and he enjoyed it. We sat outside which has a little kids play house with a slide, a bocce court and lots of outdoor seating. And to top it all off the prices are quite affordable with entrées around the $10 mark. Coffee is also very good with a drive-through option. I couldn't recommend this café more. read more
