The Coffee here was average for Wedgwood (which translates to a really good Latte, but not in the top three for the neighborhood). The Crepes were average, period. We tried one Savory and one Sweet crepe and they were good; But I would rather save my money and make my own next time. The selection of crepes was limited. Conclusion: Decent neighborhood cafe, ideal place to wait for laundry next door. Good ambiance and customer service. Great coffee and delicious pastries but noisy and dirty. As the Wedgwood neighborhood keeps growing, Javasti also needs to up its game. Here are the problems. *Too many tables. *Change those ugly arm chairs *Have your staff clean the floor every 30 minutes and check the restroom every hour *Get a hood for making the crepes if not your wall and floor get really greasy *Play better music like classical or Jazz and turn the volume down a little. Cafe javasti is one of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle. It has a great atmosphere with a cross between modern and retro, and it all of the staff are really friendly. I was excited to discover this little coffee and crepe shop near my area after living here for 5 years. We stopped in on Sunday late morning and it was bustling. We waited in line for about 8 minutes, and the pastries in the case all looked amazing. When we placed our TO-GO orders, the girl told us it would be about 15 minute wait. We had places to go, but 15 minutes? Sure, the reviews seemed to be good and I had gotten my crepes hopes up. Well.... 45 minutes later (and you bet I was watching the clock) we FINALLY got our crepes. Which we still had to then wait and get someone's attention for silverware. (Why would you not hand this over WITH the order if you're going to keep them behind the counter??) By now we were way behind schedule and a bit irritated, and rushed out. The crepes? Not bad, decent. HOWEVER.... I bit into mine and it was cold. Not lukewarm... cold. I figured they had made mine first and since they only had one crepe machine going, mine say while they made my husbands...until he loooked up and said " why does it taste like these came out of a refrigerator?" We had walked from the shop to the car... there's no way the crepes should be cold! All in all I was super disappointed. I get you may be busy, but underestimating your service time 3x over when the customer clearly says "to-go" is unacceptable. We clearly aren't planning on chatting at a table for a while where this might not be as big of a deal. And cold crepes? I don't know that I'm willing to risk the $9 per crepe again, even on a slow day. read more

I prefer this location to the one on Roosevelt. It feels a bit less cramped,has better air flow, and there's plenty of street parking. Perhaps it's a bit quieter too. Service has always been nice and efficient. They offer all the standard caffeine fixes and food too. Small, good food, good drinks excellent coffee, good customer service. Usually crowded, sometimes with kids under 6 yrs old--mostly well behaved! There is always parking nearby somewhere. There are only 2 crepe "grills" so your order may take awhile. Nice place to hang with a friend or be alone too. This place is outstanding. In a world where I have MANY choices for coffee I keep coming back here because the coffee is AWESOME and I've since fallen in love with the place. I come here at least every morning for almost 2 years and I can honestly say they're truly amazing. There all really really nice people and my order is never messed up. I dont understand how they can get it right every time without fail. Thats pretty much unheard of. I LOVE the crapes the have on the menu so I order those quite often. They have awesome salads, sandwiches, and baked goods that they change up on a regular basis. If I had one gripe it would be more toppings w the salads. But I'm telling you, thats it! Delicious food! I took my friends kids there and there was such a variety of food! Our youngest got a black bean burrito and a walnut brownie. He loved them! I got a monte cristo crepe with goat cheese instead of Swiss and our oldest got the traditional. Those were super amazing and giant, definitely amazingness quality for their price, I'd say they were inexpensive for how big and delicious they are. B******* G********, Wedgwood1 Not feeling safe at Cafe Javasti I'm in a vulnerable group and try to limit my excursions to businesses I trust will protect me from infection in this weird time. Just went to Javasti for their delicious latte. As I waited for my order, an employee entered from the kitchen area, wearing her outdoor coat and no mask. Coughed into her hand and then started preparing an espresso. Hope it was for herself, but still, she contaminated the espresso equipment. Never saw her wash her hands. I asked the barista who made my drink why there was someone without a mask breathing (and worse) on the food prep area. She said it was an individual choice. I've been impressed so far with the care Javasti employees seem to have taken to reduce risk of infection. I'd like to be supporting small local businesses, but if it's up to the whim of individual employees to take the trouble to maintain a hygienic atmosphere, I can't go there any more. Like others have written, it gets VERY busy on the weekends for a breakfast or early lunch. The crepes are about $6.25-$7ish. I have not tried their sweet crepes since I am trying to cut down on sweet things. I had the chicken,pesto and tomato crepe-it took awhile for them to make(which is usual for something warm and fresh right??) so order coffee or an espresso drink first. It was served hot to my little table. It is on my way to the bank, so a nice treat! I would not give them all 5 stars because sometimes the staff is a little unfriendly. I told the guy that the trash was overflowing and he could have cared less if the roof caved in. OMG. read more

Cafe Javasti is our local restaurant for Breakfast and coffee and collectively we have gone there 6-7 times, but we have yet to be impressed. Usually, we have to wait a long time to get a simple coffee order and the last time we were there, they lost our food order and we ended up waiting for nearly an hour. They were busy, so we understood there would be a wait, but they lost our order! The table next to ours got served cold crepes and the another couple walked out with a refund after waiting around for their food. Perhaps the cafe needs to have a more efficient system with numbers on the tables/orders, or some system behind the counter for keeping track of orders. Overall, the food is good, but not great, and I don't know how they would fare if there were any other breakfast place nearby. I really love this place for the pumpkin bread. I LOVE that stuff but this past weekend (Sunday the 20th of May to be exact) they screwed up with my credit card. The person behind the counter was checking the price of a couple of items before they opened up and then charged me for those items. She told me that the charge was voided so she asked for my card again to charge me for my real order. Today I checked with the bank and guess what? The finalized BOTH charges onto my debit card and I filed a dispute with my bank for the unauthorized charge. My coworkers and I have a coffee day every week and we rotate between Javasti and a few other shops. One of our favorite treats is their zucchini chocolate cake. Its always so amazing!!! Its super moist and fresh. Mmmmm... I know they're known for their crepes but I haven't tried them out yet. They offer soy and rice milk options for the lactose challenged. Love this place! I freaking love this place! I started going here when I moved to the neighborhood about a year ago. They have the best coffee. I love that they used Batdorf beans since I always go to their Olympia coffee shop when I am down south. Much better than charbucks. The staff are super nice but when it's busy things tend to get a bit slow since there's rarely more than 3 people working at any one time. I found Javasti in Maple Leaf when I was on maternity leave with my son. I planned my second pregnancy around the opening of the Wedgwood shop :-). I have tried the crepes, the combinations look great on the menu, look wonderful being made but somehow they just don't seem to translate to great when eating them. The baking is fantastic. I have never been disapointed by any item. They are fresh, beautiful and creative. I love taking my kids hot chocolate and treat. Very kid friendly. Hot chocolate comes with whip and mini marshmellows. Also a great selection of Italian sodas. OK - so heart of the matter. I love, love, love the cofee. The lattes are perfection. The foam is as good as Uptown. The coffee has a rich, nutty chocolat flavor. I like to purchase the Omar's blend. Oh, and did I mention it's all fair trade coffee? Lastly, the service is wonderful. Cafe Javasti is the perfect neighborhood hangout for adults (and children). We love both locations, though the Wedgwood one is closer to our home. Cafe Javasti makes amazing crepes. My wife and daughter prefer the strawberry and whipped creme crepe, while I prefer either the banana and nutella (sweet) or the pesto and mushroom (savory) crepes. The pastries can be hit or miss, but I highly recommend the coffee cake (one of the best I've found in the city). Coffees are excellent, the staff are friendly and welcoming. And both locations are filled with regulars who greet each other, and are magnets for families with young children on weekends. While I highly recommend both locations, the Wedgwood cafe is a bit too warm throughout the day, and especially on sunny mornings. read more

Javasti fulfilled all of my requirements for a coffee shop, including: 1. Well-made drinks and delicious food - I had a chai which was perfectly prepared and not too sweet, just like I like it. Also my strawberries-and-whipped-crepe was to die for. 2. Friendly service - I've been to Grateful Bread down the street a few times, but their employees are so obnoxious and/or oblivious to customers that I can't stand it. Everyone at Javasti was friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. 3. It's nice and warm inside - isn't the point of a coffee shop to be cozy? Can't study if I'm shivering. 4. Finally and most importantly, Javasti has the requisite cute grad students trickling in periodically so there's something to look at when you get bored with your textbook. Cafe Javasti is my go-to neighborhood coffee shop. It would definitely get five stars for everything except more often than not it's slow as molasses to get a crepe in the joint. Even with the languid attitude of the baristas, I still am drawn back. Oh chicken, pesto and tomato crepe, you are so delicious. Also, the sweet selections are just as yummy. As for the coffee, I'm equally as impressed. It's one of the few shops in Seattle where I can get cold drip. Before you coffee snobs turn up your nose at the thought of iced drip, let me tell it's ten times better than any iced latte you have had. If done correctly, like most cafes in New Orleans, it's perfection in a cold cup. The seating is small and most often full. Javasti is a family magnet. So go at off times or, like me, dash in hungover, order everything to go and get home. read more
