They gestured to somewhere to sit but I couldn't tell where they pointed so I asked again and they did the exact same thing before finally saying to just sit anywhere. We are so glad we stopped in. The food was as amazing. The portions were HUGE and the service was great for a spur of the moment group walking through the door. I had the "build your own" breakfast burrito with bacon, sausage, cheese and two types of salsa on side. Great flavor and one I will be going back for again. J likes "good" chili and wanted to have a specially made inlet with chili, IF she could try some chili first. Our server, Jose was happy to supply a small portion and the rest is history. The combination of chili and egg omelet was great. We also had coffee, which was ok... Place was nearly full and the service was good. We recommend going here and trying it out. On a little overnight in Sedona and needed a basic but good breakfast place. We stumbled across Cafe Jose by driving around looking. We stumbled across a gem! The menu is huge. They have breakfast all day, burgers, Mexican influenced breakfasts, and dinner plates. My better half got a basic breakfast that came with eggs, toast (tons of bread choices including rye and sourdough), sausage, and home fries. I got the basic and added a corn beef hash combo. The scrambled eggs were fluffy, the hash browns I chose were not greedy or overcooked (but crispy), and the corn beef hash was tasty and not greedy at all. The food was fantastic! The price point for breakfast averaged $10. It was an excellent value for the great portion sizes and excellent quality of food! We will definitely eat here on our next visit and recommend Cafe Jose for everyone in Sedona! read more

While spending a few nights in Sedona my wife and I were looking for a nice place to get a late lunch. Cafe Jose popped up in a search and had tons of photos of delicious looking food. When we arrived there were not many people there and the place didn't look very nice. we sat down anyway and ordered a Philly steak sandwich. It was disgusting. when I took a bite I nearly vomited. the meat was grey and was like several day old sliced roast beef. My husband & I came to Cafe Jose after a morning hike. We got seated right away and served a hot coffee right away! Armando G was our server, very attentive to his tables and very friendly. He recommended the huevos rancheros & huevos con chorizo - my husband chose the Huevos Rancheros and they were delicious ! I ordered the Sweet Potato Pancake - Armando said they were a favorite - THEY WERE EXTREMELY DELICIOUS ! I shared a couple of slices with my husband and he said they were delicious too - he's not a pancake type of guy . This place was open on Thanksgiving morning! First they do take credit cards. I read another review saying they are cash only, no longer the case. Second I kick myself we didn't find this place sooner. It was so good. The Denver scrambler was amazing amd the cheese was so fresh and creamy. I had the ranch breakfast which gave me a little of everything with gluten free pancakes, which were only a $1 more. Super yummy! I wish I had put that cheese on my eggs otherwise everything was awesome. When back in the area we will go back here. Tip it is warm in there so dress accordingly . read more
