Iced tea 3.25, chocolate chip cookie 2.99

Still the best cafe in PDR according to me. Prices services vibe everything checks out. Got the iced tea and giant cookie today. Can't go wrong with giant cookie. Especially when it's chocolate chip. It is a lil crispy if I'm honest, the pastries aren't the star here like the food probably is. Til next time I guess

My husband and I love to take a staycation and explore places around Los Angeles. We always pass in Playa Del Rey but never stop. This time we walked, see the beach, and stopped at this cafe for lunch. The food is fresh and delicious, very nice service, we forgot the water bottle of our dog, and they keep safely. The ambiance is super casual. You can have your dog on tables outside. $good price!

$4 (hot mexican chocolate w/ almond milk) Cafe Milan Monologue: It was one of those days where I had no plans; nothing specific to do but just be out of the house. I filled up my gas tank and drove the streets of LA. I decided to go Playa del Rey and while in route, if I saw a place for a latte, I would go. I cruised on in to PDR and saw the "Cafe Milan: Restaurant, Coffee House" sign. Perfect! On this cold and windy day, I pulled into the parking lot. Walked inside to a cute little coffee shop. Far from busy, plenty of seats, cozy and clean. For whatever reason, I decided against the latte and got a hot mexican chocolate with almond milk. The fella behind that counter, with beautiful long hair, made a really delicious, comforting, hot chocolate beverage for me. I sat there, at the establishment, and took in the atmosphere; the colors, the simple decor and the other patrons that came in to order their favorite item on the menu. Take yourself to this cute coffee shop and support this local business. P.S. - Conversation with the handsome son of the owner was fun too.

Great little spot by the beach to grab some food or even just a coffee. Great service and hospitality. Definitely recommended for everyone.

Some places, for whatever reason, really have me connected to the universe in a way that is profound. Cafe Milan is one of those places. I always find myself more introspective here. I feel like I am most myself here. And when you are most yourself you are more creative, more loving, more forgiving, etc. Just the best you you can be at that specific moment and time. When I am writing outside in what is essentially a parking lot that borders a small highway, I find the words just pour out of me. When I am thinking, I find the thoughts flow clearly. When I have a hard life decision to make, I come here to think on it while demolishing my plate filled with sausage, eggs, potatoes, and sourdough toast. The energy here is just so calm and restoring. You will likely read this and think this dude is absolutely nuts for writing this in a Yelp review lol. That's completely fair. But, my dear reader, I will respond with this: "The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do" -Me Their breakfast burrito SLAPS too. IG: @jnov_

Owners of Cafe discriminate and old fashioned. They don't think women under the age of 50 should visit their cafe. They do not want single women who are between the ages of 20-45 there alone. Unprofessional owners son flirts with customers giving his number to them then puts a ban on the same female customers. You will be banned if you do not sleep with them. It doesn't matter if you pay and are well behaved. They ban beautiful women.

Whenever we have a chance, we would come back to have breakfast no matter the whether is, chilly or raining.

I had amazing avocado toast and a delicious cappuccino! I just happened to be walking in the neighborhood and found this cute and cozy place with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was amazing!

We got two burritos, took a few bites, looked at each other in disgust, then threw them out. I've never been more disappointed in a burrito... this is LA, where you can throw a rock and hit a great burrito - whether it's from a stand, cart, truck, hole in the wall, or nice restaurant. The steak was gristly a greasy - so much so that the burritos had grease pools inside and were slick with grease on the outside. Grease was the only flavor - the steak was inedibly gross. That's not. No redeeming qualities. Bummer. Also it was very expensive - actually a few dollars more per burrito than what they had listed online - but whatever it's Westside LA in 2026. Go to Senor G's or literally anywhere else.

OCEAN CAFE & GRILL is a casual American cafe in Playa del Rey, California. It is known for its ocean views, fresh air, outdoor patio, and all-day breakfast/lunch menu featuring items like breakfast burritos, avocado toast, french toasts, and sandwiches. All of their food and drink items are modest in taste, flavor and appearance just enough to satisfy your hunger and/or thirst. This cafe that is popular amongst cyclists, beach volleyball players and beachgoers. We arrived to grab a Sunday brunch. It's my first time here and was impress the unobtrusive view of the beach front ocean view. I had a Chicken x French toasts and Peet's coffee. And it was simple enough to have a decent brunch. Service was spot on. And their female servers were affable, assiduous and professional. Thus, I tipped them well. Parking lot is massive. Overall, I enjoyed the beach front ocean view and coffee but not so much on the food.

There's a huge lot and it's $8 to park (as of March 2026), and once parked, to get there you do have to cross a bike path and it was pretty busy so be very careful! He had "The Cure" which was a croissant with ham, bacon and egg and looked divine. He really liked it and I had the shrimp and fries, boring I know, but the shrimp hot & fresh, even though breaded, the cocktail sauce was amazing and there's a Fry's sauce that comes with the tater tots we ordered, and it was absolutely delicious, mustardy just so flavorful! Service was quick and l there were about six maybe (7/8?)outdoor tables, they also offer blankets, which I think is a really nice thing and water for dogs, but the refills are $2 apiece and they are smaller on the drink side so be forewarned. And in saying that, I will definitely come back even though they don't serve alcohol, lol.

I was excited to see that this place had a biscuits and gravy and one with fried chicken bits nonetheless, but I guess they... lied? My biscuits and gravy came without fried chicken bits. Unless by "bits of fried chicken gravy" they meant fried chicken emulsified into a gravy- but I thought that "bits" implied that I would be receiving actual *bits* of fried chicken. The biscuits were nice and buttery enough but paired with the proteinless gravy, it kind of just tasted like butter overload. This place is also pretty inflexible. Wanted to replace my potatoes with turkey sausage, but it would've been an upcharge despite these two sides being of equal value a la carte on the menu. Alright. Then, I ordered a chocolate crepe, sat for a minute, and then changed my mind and wanted to switch to the cinnamon and sugar crepe. Problem is is that they only have one cashier at all times, and the bald cashier was pretty busy ranting about this serial grubhub scammer to his line of customers, so by the time I got to the front, the crepe had already been made; and they were unwilling to switch it for me at that point. Cool. The ambiance itself seemed nice-ish; they had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for the space and the indoor was nicely decorated, but the clientele that day made it a miserable dine-in experience (at least two screaming toddlers and a man who refused to hand over the bathroom key until I explained to him that if they gave the bathroom key to another customer, someone would walk in on me in the bathroom). So yeah. I think I won't come back.

DELICIOUS food (kudos to the chef). Good portions for the price. Food takes time cause it's bomb. #DontRushGreatness. Wonderful staff! Would love if open more hours to resume fun events ex: wine tasting open mic??? more chargers needed, clean bathroom. Parking lot small and tricky. Please be careful on that intersection. Traffic lights are meaningless to some. Beautiful decor ! And they change the menu :-) Go there it's lovely. Tell your crew but keep it classy. THATS IT! Phew. NOW GET COZY AND READ ON IF YOU HAVE THE TIME: The owner and her staff are so kind warm and welcoming! I've been coming here for what feels like a year? You walk in and feel instantly relaxed from the decor. Think ; vacation spot , "White Lotus" season 1 and 2 vibes. TIMING: The morning time is really popular from what I hear and there is sometimes a line. However go between 11-2:30 (closing time) and very calm 90% of the time. If/When there is a line people are so nice! No joke! Maybe because it's not a place you rush things. Everything is made fresh so some dishes take a bit of time. So I suggest going when you are not in a hurry. Or order to go. AMBIANCE: If you are a music lover, and enjoy international grooves, a French radio station or playlist is always on. Plus it's different styles of French music! There was rap, hip-hop, jazz, alternative. So while in line you'll probably find yourself tapping your feet. I really like the booths for the privacy. When it's busy those go QUICK. The basket chairs look glorious but I haven't tried them yet. Not sure if they are still up. But one day I'll nest in there...one day. NOW THE FOOD! The menu changes every so often which is exciting ! If you are minding your dollars and cents it's a bit pricey. HOWEVER, the food is great quality and from the dishes I've ordered the portions are a good size #WorthIt. I like their coffee and that they have milk alternatives. And I appreciate the menu is not overwhelming. If there are condiments they don't carry (due to the authenticity of the restaurant) they always recommend something comparable as a substitute. RECOMMENDATIONS: I dislike eating breakfast when it's not time for it. But when I come here? It's on! The goat cheese omelette is fluffy and delicious!! I add chicken to it que magnifique! (Hope that's right as I'm not using Ai in this moment . Apologies if it's wrong corrections welcome #respect) They had a juicy burger and it was so good they run out of it pretty often. The lox bagel has a decent amount of lox! The home fries aren't greasy (great with avocado for some reason) Bannana Bread is so tastes and moist! It feels more like a cake. I'd buy the whole basket but that would be unfair to "the OTHERS..." Just kidding lol. The lemon squares are about to be my new addiction too. But they keep it real sometimes popular dishes run out. And that's ok, it's a boutique spot. It's also a mini-rush when you order a dish that's finally available lol. ADVICE: PURPOSE: I'd come here for a smoothy after a workout. Breakfast with peers or a more relaxed business mtg. if you're in an ASL (Or any group/team) club like I was this is a great place to meet. The light is fantastic! They have their own wiFii. CLEANLINESS/KIDS? Their bathroom is clean. Place is spotless. You might see a table with dishes to be cleared but it's never overwhelming or a bunch of tables in that state so, chill! I'm not sure I've seen a lot of families with kids in there. And I'm not sure if I saw a changing table. I have a 4 year old so I look at things like that but I know they'd be very accommodating. DRAWBACKS?: I've only seen one outlet over a booth in the middle? So make sure you are charged up or have a looong chord. They also close pretty early when I'm there at 2:30pm. CREATIVE PLANS FROM STAFF: However, one of the baristas shared with me they used to be open longer. But due to Covid it's been slow. So they adjusted the hours. They have lots of ideas if things pick up. And I think in the past they did wine tasting with selections directly from France! I think they could have a fabulous open mic poetry night. Maybe even a small live band every so often. Game night classy style? hehe. If they allowed the tables to be moved I'd do an art premiere there! No joke #Ideas. YOU, yes you: Step one? Get more awesome people to adore this place like I do. So check it out! Enjoy the food and ambiance and the kindness. I'll see you at the open mic wish I could add a pic but maybe next time!

The last time we were here, it was during a busy lunch and both the service and the food were below par. But tonight, it wasn't as busy and our server, Geovani, was excellent. First, we were quickly greeted and asked to select our table (since they were not that busy). Since there was only two of us, we picked a table for two. But, after we decided that we would split an appetizer and an entree, the table for two became way to small way too quickly. Geovani jumped right on this, suggesting we move to a larger table. He helped us move everything over and, voila, we were able to stretch out and relax and enjoy our meal. We started with the pear and blue cheese salad and, wow, we could have just ordered this, split it, and we would have been full. Very flavorful, generous portion that is definitely big enough to share. We also ordered the Sausage & Leek Fettuccine and I was definitely not thinking. Totally forgetting that leeks are part of the onion family (and I have a sensativity to onions). Once the dish arrive, I immediately noticed the similarity and was slowly trying to pick them away from my portion. Once again, Geovani came to our rescue. He asked how everything was and I told him I made a mistake (noted above). He quickly volunteered to have the kitchen make it again without the leeks. I asked, "Are you sure?", and he immediately said yes and removed the dish. Very shortly after, he returned with the "onion sterile" dish and it was wonderful. Both of us were so full you could have rolled us out the door. Good thing the parking garage is so close so we could just hop in our car and go home. Time to loosen the belt! ;) In a week where we have had some personal issues, it was so nice to be treated so well and received such a great tasting meal. Hope you get the time to stop in and I hope you get Giovani to answer all your questions and issues. Enjoy!!!

Came to sit down and despite the place having many tables, the person by the door insisted that we have all of party present to seat us, which is understandable if they are busy but they were not even 50% full, when I said my brother was right there walking down the street, he insisted to hold his ground. Then literally 30 seconds later my brother is here, then I tell him he is right right there, he goes "ok, I will let you know when a table is ready", why not use stove common sense & say that a table is not even ready? Sounds like steering maybe because of the 4 kids ? Maybe something else? Very rude and I'm acceptable behavior. Then to add to it, turns out I was talking to the manager "Ello", who is acting in your face and challenging you more like a night club bouncer than a "manager" at a cafe....
