i like this place, but its too expensive for a neighborhood joint. each time i go i order paninis or wraps. I dont get much else. I kinda.... well, i'll just say it: I'm biased over their sushi! its a nice kosher place for the neighborhood, but seriously needs a price reality check: ~$12 for a panini and a few leaves of lettuce? k'mon.... get real! i mean, its tasty, but where the heck did these midtown prices come from? Used to be the go to place but they've been slacking lately. I went there about 4 months ago and was disappointed in the service and the food that I received. Fast forward 4 months later I decide to give it another shot. I ordered the shakshuka which was subpar (didn't really enjoy it), something was off about it. As others had said, the prices were high for what you get. French onion soup came in a style I'm not used to with just a block of cheese floating in it. It was still tasty, though doubtfully wasn't "authentic." Falafel was made with some unusual spices I detected, but pretty good still for a wrap. bulgarian salad wasvery good, lots of fresh cheeses. The israeli salad was made nice and authentic as well. The fettucini alfredo wasn't impressive, nothing spectacular. Inside was clean, service was fine. read more

One of my coworkers only eats kosher food and it was her birthday, so we ordered here. And I've never had kosher food before, so I was curious what kosher pad thai would taste like. I expected it to be meatless and it was; I think you need to ask for meat and it probably costs extra. I was surprised to see Chinese lo mein noodles rather than vermicelli rice noodles. It didn't taste like traditional pad thai more like stir fry noodles, but was delicious nonetheless. And the portion was pretty big because I almost couldn't finish the whole thing. read more

This place is great. The service is pretty good. It can get busy. The muscat salad is delicious, I love the fried halumi cheese. My favorite appetizer is the Bulgarian eggplant, it is amazing. I came here on a Saturday night at around 9:30pm. Literally the worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I understand that the restaurant was crowded but it would be nice if someone would have payed attention to us. We ordered our food and the waited 20 minuets for bread and water. We had a party of 6 and they only brought one bottle of water. When we asked for more water no one brought it and we had to get up to get it. Adding an automatic gratuity of 18%? I rarely leave reviews buy I felt the need this time. Absolutely horrible meal. I ordered the Homestyle Chips, what came was undercooked potato wedges. I ordered French Onion soup and Tomato soup. French Onion had a weird undesrieable taste and Tomato was over seasoned, both unfinishable. Fried Oreos were soggy, understandable though because I got delivery. Grilled cheese had zero flavor. I ordered my mother the pesto salad. She picked at it and said she just couldn't finish it, it was that bad. The mango smoothie was good though. The prices are a little high which is typical for a kosher restaurant of this sort but definitely not worth it here. The 1st time I went I ordered baked ziti and it came out extremely overcooked. The 2nd time I went I spent $14 on penne a la vodka that tasted like they took vodka sauce from a jar that you get at the super market and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes. My assistant and I are both new to Queens and were looking for a cafe for lunch. We found Muskat because of its proximity to SJU. I realized it was Kosher after the amazing meal. I had the open face lox panini (the salmon was not cooked) and it was the best I've ever tasted. She had the tuna wrap and said it was "lovely". I'll be back there, for sure. I'm not Kosher nor am I Jewish but I order from this restaurant often because they have the most insanely fresh and most delicious fish and ice cream that I've come across. The prices are a bit steep but I have yet to feeI as if I've overpaid for anything that I've ordered. The staff are polite, they offer fast delivery, and generous portions, making the prices well worth it. And the desserts are so delicious that it doesn't even make sense. The food is not good at all. The sandwiches are always dry, the salads have no taste, and the main dishes are boring with no sides. The service is terrible as the waitress took our order and didn't put it in until she saw us glaring at her and she kept pushing us to order appetizers and then dessert. She saw us as "Americans" and probably wanted more in tip. One waiter even went to the wrong table with our order. Today was 86 degrees and they didn't even turn on the A/C so it was very warm inside. Very disappointing. Didn't come here for almost 6 years and thought I'd give this place a chance again. Ive broken it down into categories for you: Sushi: Fire Roll Dancing Salmon Roll Guido Roll (try this it is interesting! no guarantees that you'll like it but I doubt youve ever had sushi that tasted this way) Pasta: Ravioli in Pesto Sauce Penne in Vodka Sauce (note: there vodka sauce is a little more tomato'ey than other places. If you are more a non-healthy cream person like me, make sure you ask for them to go heavier on the cream) Soup: Average Panini: Italian Sandwich Appetizers: Avocado Roll (this is not sushi). It is really awesome and comes with a great fresh salad.
