My family and I were constantly being ignored by employees... it took them like 30 minutes just to bring me a cup of ice for my soda bottle that was not even cold. There was a nice Hispanic waitress who treated us kindly even though she was busy. One waitress got me SO shocked and angry...the Hispanic lady was speaking to one of her coworkers when the coworker told the Hispanic lady "Speak English, no Spanish" so she switched to English obviously but I just thought it was absolutely RIDICULOUS how most of their customers here today were Hispanic yet they were all having to be spoken to in English. What a racist rule. However, the other waitresses and waiters had an unwelcoming attitude. The restaurant has a sign upfront that reads "Please seat yourself" so, many customers started seating themselves but then the other waitresses started sort of yelling at them saying "Please wait outside do not come seat yourself" or "wait your turn" despite the sign. IN ADDITION: you have to pay $7 for limited spaced valet parking if not, you have to park along the side of the mountains. There is also only ONE bathroom and it is all gender. Just past that is where you are greeted. On this particular day it was cold raining a little and kinda hazy. So we opted to sit and dine inside. If you have the chance sit outside on the perch that overlooks the valley filled with trees and beauty... It feels like a tree house, those were the vibes I were feeling. They had heaters outside in the dining area. Ok so inside it's cozy and very decorative. They have a coffee bar where they make amazing coffee drinks, along with a showcase of a couple cheesecakes. If you have a chance grab a slice of the Nutella cheesecake, to die for!!! I ordered the Holy Benedict it was amazing. Easy egg, bacon goodness on top a huge bagel. At normal prices this is a 3 star restaurant, at these prices it's early 2 stars. Food was exactly "fine." Nothing special at all, not great, just fine. A side of potatoes (which are literally just fried potatoes, no other ingredients) is $9. Half an avocado is $6. 2 small waffles (easily the best thing we got, which was "good" but nothing special) was $24. Service was fine, no complaints but nothing special. The location is beautiful, which is entirely what you're paying for. It was 103 in neighboring Woodland Hills, but it was comfy here, thanks to great shade, proximity to the ocean, and a strong sustained breeze. Really pretty, too. The website and menu says they will "take steps" for safety of food allergies like Celiac's, but someone I went with has Celiac's disease and asked, and the server checked with the kitchen who said they have no equipment to separate allergy orders (like only a single toaster and fryer) and they had no ability to take ANY steps to avoid contamination. They have gluten free toast, but it is cooked in the same toaster which can defeat the purpose for the worst cases. I will definitely not be coming here again. read more

What a nice group of people. I like this spot. It still retains a bit of the Topanga Table feel and the tasty food to boot. Admittedly when we received our dishes my husband commented at his disappointment to the presentation. He felt as though the omelette wasn't substantial. I reserved judgement, took a bite and LOVED the flavor. Wow, perfect amount of cheese, hint of cream in the egg, a bit of mushroom... simply a delicious omelette. The side fruit was super yummy. I really enjoyed our high top seat along the ledge overlooking a pretty Mountain View. It did become hot to the touch, as did our flatware buy it was fine. Perhaps not for kids but fine for us. Used to come here alot, quality in service has gone down. We asked our waitress if something that was previously on menu was still avail and was rudely told no. Waitress never bothered to check on us after taking order except to give us the check. We noticed after the fact that she took the liberty of giving herself a 20% tip which was aggervating once we noticed as she did not deserve even 5%. First off, my family and I selected this restaurant because we were coming from a visit at the Getty Villa museum and hungry for something new that day. We noticed that this cafe was not too far away so we thought we would take a drive up. After parking with the friendly valet, we were completely blown away by the ambiance. It was like eating up in a treehouse overlooking the Pacific Ocean (keep in mind the ocean is a few miles away). On this hot day the breeze felt nice. We did make a reservation for 2 PM, but they seated us when we arrived at 1:30 PM and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The menu has options for vegans and animal-based eaters. I ordered the Zizulini pasta, and it was delicious! My daughter enjoyed her Rasta pasta, and my wife enjoyed her Tuna Melt. My daughter also enjoyed her cucumber mint lemonade. Again staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is breathtaking. This could be a really great place for brunch or an intimate dinner date. My friend and I visited over the July 4th holiday weekend and our experience was absolutely drool worthy. From the beautiful space, to the delicious entrees we chose (the tagine and the chicken pesto sandwich), to the friendliness and over-and-above service of our waiters. I already can't wait to take another friend or my family there. Very tasty lunch, with a beautiful ambiance, and fantastic customer service. We ordered the kofta tagine, zizulini pasta, and French toast. The kofta tagine was honestly a perfect dish, it was fantastic. It was the definition of flavor. It's the uniqueness of taste and balance was done absolutely perfectly. The flavors were so complex, yet so well put together. You have the savory meatballs, that were juicy and seasoned well. There was some sweetness, coming from either the white sauce or the tomato sauce. It paired with the savoriness perfectly. Then you have the richness from the eggs. Dip the baguette in the egg yolk, and you have yourself a treat. The little microgreens on the dish added a nice touch of freshness to the dish. The potatoes were perfect. Probably some of the best house potatoes I've ever had. They were crispy on the outside, but soft and fluffy on the inside. They were cooked perfectly and the sauces paired well with it. The zizulini pasta was another dish with interesting and complex flavors. The flavor was unique to me but was very tasty. The consistency was very creamy. One thing to note is how the pasta was cooked to the perfect al dente. The crushed nuts on top added a nice contrast of texture. The sauce itself was a little cheesy and was seasoned very well. The micro greens on top added some nice freshness. The French toast on the other hand sucked. Like really sucked. It reminded me of high school French toast. It was incredibly basic. It confuses me because the other two dishes were flavorful and complex, and the fresh toast was just bland. The bread was not really crispy. The syrup was just alright. The berries are just berries, and the whipped cream is just whipped cream. It was like they put a minimal amount of effort into making this dish. The quality was good. The ingredients tasted very fresh. the presentation is really nice. The kofta tagine came in this nice bowl with a nice lid. The pasta looks very appealing to the eye. It was garnished well. The french toast was also presented nicely, with what I believe is mint garnished on top of the dish. The portion to price is semi-fair. The French toast is criminally overcharged. Again some of the worst French toast, so they should not be charging it at that high price. The other two dishes were a little pricy but are understandable because of the location and the flavor. I do wish for the kofta tagine that they added at least one more meatball to the dish. Other than that, I would pay for the kofta tagine and the pasta again. The staff was incredibly nice. They were trained well in their customer service. I could tell they were hustling and working hard. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She demonstrated excellent customer service. The food came out in average time, which I was pleased by. The ambiance is an aspect they excel in. The patio seating is just fantastic, with a beautiful view. The gorgeous view while eating a delicious breakfast was a nice treat. Even the interior is decorated nicely. They have nice decor and props scattered throughout the restaurant. Any seat in the restaurant was honestly a good seat. The place was very clean. The parking is a little difficult because you have to park on the street. I believe they only do by reservations now. Didn't have to wait long to be seated with a reservation. Service was good. Food was very visually pleasing with the natural light sitting outdoors. The omelette with mushroom and truffle oil was yummy I think that was probably my favorite dish from the 3 my brunch friends and I shared. The next was the smoked salmon toast. The toast was a little hard to get through but the salmon and toppings was very well done. The wafferesso was plain, the waffle was hard but the fruits were fresh. The waffle espresso was okay. Very hard waffle. The service was ok, they take forever to check on you and they have no emotion in their voice like they don't care about you. This 27 CAFE o The Tree house cafe like other people call it is a complete unique experience is a must do bucket list the minute we got there after driving 30 o 40 minutes from LA through the canyon it can be less in depends on traffic from the 101 freeway but any way like I was saying this magic 27 cafe inside the woods make feel free surrounding by nature all kind of trees and plants and the shipping of birds is a unique experience like I said in the beginning of my review. Since we walk in the hostess was very pleasant it will be better if you do reservation more opportunity to have a better view we wait for a little while only because we were a party of 5.But it worth it we use the waiting time to take some pictures and to explore the place. When was our turn The hostess came led us to our table and minutes after our waiter came very kindly offering us something to drink, but you know what the wonderful thing was? that our menus were our place mat. The menu is very splendid and a lot of variety to choose from, they also have vegetarian dishes and the prices were decent. While we waited for our food we enjoyed the view around us and notice that they had many little plants like mint, the noise was tolerable and the service was very friendly and quickly and they spoke Spanish much better. Our waiter BELTER I think that was his name and JENNY were very attentive to us. The food came quickly, it looked very fresh and delicious. After eating we were able to continue exploring this wonderful place that makes you feel relaxed, connected with nature. Highly RECOMMENDED for friends and family. Made a reservation here on a Sunday afternoon. Arrived 15 minutes early and they seated us right away. We sat on the patio in a shaded area and it was beautiful out and a very fun vibe. Our views of the valley were limited from our spot but it was still overall gorgeous. The server was very friendly and fairly attentive throughout the meal. The food came out timely. I ordered the veggie club and it was very tasty! I loved all the different veggies, the roasted peppers were great and the cashew sauce was yummy but the avocado was extremely under ripe which made it hard and almost chewy, which threw it off.
