Really delicious Korean bar food!!!! The food was very affordable, we ordered corn cheese, steamed egg, popcorn chicken, Korean fried rice, and honey soy wings. Came here with a party of 6 for our friends birthday. Food was delicious, I highly recommend the corn cheese and spicy rice cakes. We also got the army stew which had generous servings, the garlic chicken, and the fried rice. However, service was quite bad and slow. They didn't offer us any water, we had to ask for it, and we didn't even get real cups (they gave us the white plastic ones). It was hard to flag down any servers and we didn't get checked up on. We could only ask for things when they brought our food out but they would often forget what we asked for (if we asked for more water and napkins, they would only bring the water). My friends and I came on a Thursday night and ordered some soy garlic chicken. Wings were alright, although upon eating, we noticed that all the drums were raw. When we told the server and SHOWED HIM THE MEAT (pic below), mans had the audacity to say it was "cooked hemoglobin". He then brought the manager/chef/lady over who then confirmed that the meat was indeed raw. Without any explanation, she took the whole dish away and never came back (not even with new meat, nothing). Those nights were wild, but now with a kid I needed a spot where I could still feel the ambiance of a suljip, but not crazy and expose my 6yo to drunk teenagers not being able to handle thie liquor... The service from calling for the reservation to the end of the night was perfect. The servers were extra friendly and attentive which is not the norm at a drinking establishment. We even received "service" which to me is an amazing honor and show of respect. Came here on a Saturday around 7:55pm with a group of 4 in total. The vibe of this spot is super chill and casual. There were two arcades set up by the entrance, not sure what the exact games were but one may have been pac man? As we were getting seated, I noticed there were several tables needing clearing up...and realized in flipping through the menu that this place offers happy hour from 5-8pm daily! So, the smart folks knew to get in and get out early...which I may have to try for the next go around. The gal helping us was SO friendly and patient with us, came by several times to check in if we were ready...and literally at 8:02pm we ordered our first bottle of soju...aka 2 minutes past their HH deal. Our server was soo kind in putting in our bottle in at the HH price (thank you!) The food was decent, good for drinking but I would not come here just to eat...I would need an alcoholic beverage to enjoy the food. LOL. The service was surprisingly on point, the servers were quick to bring us new bottles of water without us having to ask, and was so easy to get their attention even as the place started to fill up. Just seeing how attentive the workers here are made the experience that much more enjoyable. I did not pay a visit to the bathroom, but it is outside of the restaurant and the word from my group was that it deffff needed some cleaning. The half and half was exactly what I wanted, chewy, decadent noodles in two different ways. The jajangmyeon was savory with a lot of grilled onions. Like other jajangmyeons I wish there was more meat than the few chunks they give, but with the quality of these noodles and sauce, I can't complain. The jjamppong was less spicy compared to what I've had before, but it was still very flavorful! It came with a wide range of shellfish and squid and you can tell the flavor is all in the soup. One thing I love to do when I have both these items is to mix them both into one bowl and go to town on it! The fried calamari was different from what I was used to. Immediately when you bite into it you can distinguish the batter from the squid. However that's not a bad thing. The batter was perfectly fried to my liking (like the well done quality at in n out) and having a soft chewy piece of squid in the middle made it very enjoyable! My favorites were the army stew, chicken wings, and the bulgogi fries (this was my favorite favorite favorite, definitely get the bulgogi fries). They only allow to split the bill 2-3 ways per table, so if you are looking to come with a big group, keep that in mind. There is outside and indoor seating.
