A go to for restaurant quality Korean meals to heat up during the week. Their fried pork ribs are unique and sells out.

Entry into their parking area, requires a SHARP right turn. Take your time as the curb cut is kind of narrow, on a very busy street. Anyhow, the food is REALLY (and I mean REALLY) delcious, all made in a classic traditional way. Some items are even best in class! I had the following: - Pickled cucumbers in red sauce (vinegared, sweet n savory) - Stir fried mini anchovies with walnuts - Pickled aged cucumber that is seasoned (oyee muchim) All three items were so delish. So if you are craving mom's cooking, definitely stop by to get your fix. The pricing though is kind of high about 30% - 40% higher than what you would expect to pay, b/c the portions are also kinda small. You just have to think of it as gourmet pricing. When I brought it up, she said there are customers who come that don't have a problem or don't mind the pricing. For example a tofu miso soup (small single portion) was about $13 - If you were to goto a Korean restaurant for about $3 more, you get rice, unlimited side dishes, etc. She explained the quality ingredients, it has meat, etc. There was a beautifully grilled fish (Yellow Corvina) that I wanted to get but it was priced $13/each. - Similarly, if you goto a Korean restaurant, you get 6 banchans, rice, side soup, etc. and 3 pcs of fish for about $30.00 - So might not be the best value but due to quality ingredients, may be worth it to pay The lady knew I was kind of price sensitive so she allowed me to get a refund on squid dup bap (saying it does not have many squid pieces, but cooked mixed with veggies). - I was grateful to her, it was very considerate Their are not too friendly, kind of aloof, no welcome / greeting when I walked in and was looking around for awhile. - Left me feeling sad because they warmly greeted other people (non-Koreans). I only grabbed a few things this time but they had soooo many different banchan in there. 1. Donkatsu 10/10 reallly good (might be better than hanyang, and that says a lot) 2. This is my go to place for pre-made Korean meal and banchan. The food here is on a different level compared to something you can find at Hmart or Arirang. The flavor has much more depth and there's a homemade feeling to it. I'm not Korean but I figure this would be something that I would have grown up with if I were. I never had something here that I didn't like. They don't mass produce their food so everything is meticulously made. That also means some things do run out if you don't get there early (pickled lettuce stem)! The owner is also very nice if you ever get to talk to her. It's not a cafe but a little market where you can buy premade Korean food. Their galbi tang is excellent. Also loved their side dishes. Highly recommend it if you want home cooked Korean food but don't want to cook it yourself! Just wish it was closer to me!! read more

Sister Jipbob offers pre-made side dishes, lunch boxes, and frozen food like marinated meats and stews. I came specifically for the lunch boxes. The japchae was delicious! A little pricier than places like Super 1 Mart or HMart but good portion size, about enough for two people. Excellent service, too. I asked for a cup of water and they offered to put plum syrup in it (at no cost) which was delicious. This is more of a to-go place so there isn't really anywhere to eat inside, but there is a table outside. I'll definitely come back to try their ban chan! read more

I was really excited to check this place out as soon as I saw this pop up on Yelp! I go to Hmart almost every week but was hoping to find a banchan place nearby so I could support a mom & pop shop instead. The first time I went they were closed unexpectedly and had a sign on the door saying they would be open the next day. I came back again another day, determined to check this place out. I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately the prices of the food were higher than other places I've been to for similar items. For some of the items like ready meals, they were priced similarly to if you would order those items as a restaurant that serves the food hot for you. Personally for me, I would expect the packaged foods to be cheaper than a restaurant. I did end up getting their frozen kalbitang though because I thought it was one of the items that was reasonably priced compared to their other options. If I recall correctly, I think it was around $18 and I was able to split it into a meal for both my husband and I (which is cheaper than what you would get eating out). The flavor overall was good. I also got a pickled chayote banchan since that was priced reasonably as well and was something I don't normally see elsewhere. I did really like that item. Aside from the prices, I was a little turned off by the lack of service. I came in ready to spend some money since I was wanting to fill up on food and banchan but multiple items were missing prices. When I asked nicely for prices of different items, the lady at the counter seemed annoyed and told me their price printer thing wasn't working. I totally understand something like that happening but the attitude was off-putting and I was getting the same attitude everytime I was curious on the price for something. There were a few more items I would have been willing to buy and try out despite the higher prices but decided to only buy the two items based on the interaction. One big positive call out about the place is that it did look very clean and well kept. I would consider coming back again to see if the experience is better next time and to buy the kalbitang again if I'm in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to make the drive out here. read more

Sister Jipbob isn't your typical Korean restaurant establishment. They mainly cater toward lunch boxes, frozen korean meals like soup, marinated meats, and katsu, and korean side dishes. We had the opportunity to try the galbitang, marinated cucumbers, spicy squid, and fish cake. All were delicious! galbitang was able to feed both my wife and I and was easy to make. All we had to do was boil the content in the bag. I think this will be a good place to buy meals in advance. The quality of the food is decent, though I would say their prices are about 20% higher from what I would except. I would still recommend people to check this place out at least once! read more

Wow, what can I say about this place? I'm so glad it opened and is convenient for me. The people that work there are very nice and helpful. They have a good selection of Korean take-home food that is delicious and easy to heat up. It's perfect for people that don't have time to cook and clean. This Donkatsu was huge. It was big enough to feed a family of 4. I just had to make rice and steam some veggies on the side. Total cooking time for this Donkatsu was 10 minutes at 380°F in the air fryer. They have 2 different types of pork cutlet to choose from. The one in my photos (Korean style) and a Japanese style Tonkatsu. Comes with the sauces you eat them with as well. My only recommendation would be to have some samples of the different ban chan that is available and maybe let us know how long they are good for in the fridge as well. Do not sleep on Sister Jipbob folks. This place has great options for lunch and for pre-prepped meals. The location is clean, the aesthetic professional. The food is lovingly boxed and ready to go in their large refrigeration sections. There is a vast selection of delicious looking banchans, beautiful and generous pork cutlets begging to be air fried, and just in time for summer - succulent looking kalbi ribs for grilling! Did I mention they have large pouches of prepared Korean soups ready to go? I did not get to look over all the offerings, but I was very excited. Today I selected some bulgogi (the bulgogi is not cloying or overbearing and lets all its ingredients shine!) and rice ( the rice is well prepared) and some egg banchan was quite flavorful, taking a cue from the bulgogi it has a exquisite taste (I don't know the name, my apologies). Both were delicious, not overly seasoned, and you can tell they are prepared with the type of love you can only get from a home cooked meal. I love this place. I love it charm. This place is a great addition to local food joints in the area. It's more like a take out restaurant that offers a variety of Korean side dishes and prepared lunch boxes. There's no menu so whatever lunch items they have for the day is pretty much displayed on the table near the cashier. The name of the dish and price is labeled. They took over the old Greenhouse Cafe and remodeled the entire space that gives out a chic modern vibe. The dishes are so tasty!! It really tastes like good home made food. I live near this restaurant and I was curious to try it when I saw it was opened. It was phenomenal! The service was great (sweetest people ever and excellent English). I am not too familiar with all the Korean cuisine and they helped me pick out great meals. The food quality is superb; I highly recommend the ribs, and the scallion pancakes. One thing to note is that this is not a traditional restaurant. While there are tables to eat at, the store specializes in a bento box style of food. I came to eat lunch here and it is not so much a restaurant but a premade grab and go. It was lovely and we took our food boxes and ate on their nice patio.
