The lady that greeted us was terrible. I'm not sure if I've ever felt that unwanted in a restaurant before. I am used to waiting at restaurants even when everyone else that comes in gets seated. My family consists of me, my wife, and four daughters. We usually have at least one friend or a boyfriend with us when we all go out. For some reason, we are more often than not, given higher than actual wait times in what I can only assume is an effort to make us leave. It's almost become a game of "how long are you really going to make us wait compared to what you quoted" for us when we go out. This night we had a birthday girl and she brought along 3 friends ages 13-14. We walked into the restaurant just before 18:00 and were greeted with a look of horror from who I assume was the manager, but could have been the owner. She was an older lady that looked at us and said "we don't have anything available for a party of your size for at least an hour". Looking around, it is not even 10 percent full in this place. My wife glances at me, looks at her, and says, "ok, we will wait". This lady was so convinced that we would leave that she didn't even listen to my wife. She immediately responds with, "I'm so sorry, have a good night" and then realizes Charity told her we would wait. Awkward! It was the most uncomfortable 8 minute wait I've ever endured. That's right, we were seated in less than 10 minutes. She miraculously found a place for us to sit in her damn near empty restaurant. Very Impressive! Server arrives and things get much nicer and way more comfortable. She was nice and very efficient. She handled our party with ease and did an outstanding job. She is a solid asset to this place. Unfortunately, it was only decent food. Nothing stood out as even seeming like a homemade quality ingredient in any of our food. It was all just "ok" really and all seemed canned or boxed. Pizzas are thin like Pyros but twice as expensive with limited sparse toppings. The lasagna was fair at best. The crab ravioli was terrible, just awful. My wife ate two or three bites of her Panini and left the rest. Spinach Artichoke dip was the best thing we had all night. We won't be bothering them ever again with my scary teenage girls! You can count on that! There are much better places to drop a couple hundred dollars on dinner. read more

We went for our anniversary having been referred to this place by a friend. The service from start to finish was amazing. Hostess went above and beyond her duties the entire time we were there. The whole staff displayed excellent teamwork. ASK FOR RICHIE to be your server! He was the best and we will be back more often because of him! Tried: Mozzarella Breadsticks- exactly as the name describes. Insalata Piazza- standard Italian dressing was a little bland but good size salad! Would get again just go with a different dressing next time. The Gorg Pizza- DELICIOUS and unique! Eggplant Parmesan- best Eggplant Parm I've had! Cannoli- slightly small portion, but flavor was good. Would probably try one of the homemade cakes or tiramisu next time. Richie! A+ server!! read more

Took my mom and MIL here on Mother's Day with my toddler. The kitchen was backed up when we reached and I was bummed about finding a new spot. But the owner of this place is the sweetest and accommodated us. The food as always was delicious, the pizza was well cooked and the cheese was delish! They even had a buffet for Mother's Day which we didn't try. Love the vibe of this place and the hospitality of the owner. Surely my favorite pizza place in Memphis area. read more

I placed a to go order with Uber eats. I arrived 2 minutes after they pinged me at 5:43pm on 05/09/2021. After arriving and waiting awhile, the hostess told me the pick up is around the corner. No problem. At the window I was greeted by the manager who said my to go order was already picked up. They have no ability to refund me. And refused to make any form of accommodation for an $80 order. I think what infuriates me the most was whole tough luck mannerisms of the establishment. Will never go here again. It's been there for a long time but it wasn't until recently that we tried it out. It is a lovely atmosphere in a quaint old home a small homey feel with a just right Italian decor and flair, tastefully done. They have daily specials in addition to their regular menu with salads and sandwiches with a nice selection of other options. The owners work along the other staff and everyone is friendly and the service is vetmy good. I had the the chicken parmesan with a side of pasta and while it was good it wasn't exceptional because I found it lacking garlic or enough other seasoning. My wife had out the eggplant parmesan and she thought it was done well but like me she wasn't blown away. They have good comfort food selections on the menu and we will most likely give them another try with different choices because it is a locally owned and owned Italian place that we really want to like. read more

Plain Jane red sauce restaurant with limited menu but service is good and food well prepared

They aren't hitting it out of the park for the prices they charge. This was my first time ordering since I am big into local and I'm ordering to go like everyone else when possible. I ordered the Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo for $18.00. Don't waste your money. The Alfredo sauce was watery and flavorless. The chicken though cooked well, was overly marinated in Italian seasoning maybe to compensate for the sauceless noodles they were smashed on in the delivery box. I couldn't add cream cheese or butter to fix it. I ended up chunking it. The spicy pimento cheese spread was redeeming in flavor and the toasted baguette chips were a nice add and what you would expect for the cost. The Piazza Pizza marginally hits the price point for a single large pie. It does seem to offer local ingredients and didn't taste like a mass produced pizza that's made every 10 minutes. It was ample amount of ingredients and overall a decent pie. It wasn't delicious, but it wasn't gross. read more

Went to David Grisani's for lunch but they were closed! Yo David update your website and voicemail. Decided to head here as we had our hearts set on Italian Short wait to be seated. Very friendly folks. Great ambiance. Acceptable service for having only one wait staff. But the food. The food. The special for the day (crab artichoke dip) was pretty good. Piazza pizza was served warm, not hot. Personal size available for lunch was perfect size. Taste was ok. I put a leftover slice in the toaster oven when I got home and when it's hot it tasted much better. Albacore panini was not great (very dry). As for the pasta, it tasted a bit over cooked and soft. Crawfish pasta was a bit tasteless - maybe it needed more sauce or maybe I got COVID. I'm not sure. When I could taste it, it had a slight kick to it. The Chicken Alfredo - cream tasted a bit weird. I can't place it. But the chicken strips on it were nice and tender. The single piece bread that came with each pasta plate was really nice and soft. For the prices charged (more than $80 after tax and tip) though, I'd provably give it a pass, unless you just want nice ambiance and maybe a glass of wine (fyi, from listening to the table next to me order, it sounded like they were out of a lot of the whites). This restaurant punishes customers for ordering delivery. They skimp on ingredients and send out poor quality orders. I just got a pizza with nothing but a thin layer of melted cheese - this isn't the first time this has happened, but it will be the last. They not only ruined my delivery experience, but I'm not going back into the restaurant either. read more

There are places where you want 5 star food, but will tolerate mediocre service. Then there is a place where the service exceeds the food. Don't get this 4 star wrong. Food is ok. I wouldn't NOT go back. I totally would. Some great points. Some less than. I get that. Our server Rick, however? Made this trip worth it. Cafe Piazza is outstanding for location - right off the Collierville Town Square - ambience - service - decor - as well as the wide selection of delicious food. We were able to enjoy lunch on a Saturday - with Mimi's Chicken Salad - which was tasty, fresh, and not too high in fat - and blueberry pancakes - off of the Brunch menu - which were light and fulfilling. The desserts - Lava Cake - and Tiramisu - were great. And our waiter - Abdel - was prompt, courteous , and attentive. The cost for this beautiful lunch was about $28 per person, including tax and tip. With convenient free parking (adjacent), I would definitely give this gem of a place a 5 stars out of 5 stars. I have had several good meals here but for some reason not at lunch. Dinners and Brunch have been excellent. The service has always been good. It's a tight fit, so not great for large groups. But nice and cozy for couples or a family of 4 or 5. In don't mind sitting close enough to the table next to you to speak. That's the Southern way. read more

$30 for a pizza. I am baffled by the price increase. It doesn't taste better than anywhere else and didn't blow my mind. I've had better pizza at fast food chains. This was a carry out order so I can't speak for the inside. I was not impressed with the rather small large meatball pizza. So let's review the actual pizza. The crust was like a saltine cracker- crunchy and no taste. Tomato paste tasted like it comes from a can rather than freshly made like you'd expect at a place like this. Tried Cafe Piazza a second time and honestly it's such a shame...the service is excellent and the restaurant itself is charming but the food is just ok...the first time my wife and I dinned there my pasta was undercooked. The second visit was just like the first. Had the smoked chicken ravioli and a side of meatballs. The meatballs were very good and the marinara sauce was good but the ravioli was undercooked taking al dente to a new level. The chicken stuffing was very dry. I know they make their own pasta but this was like machine made out of a bag...sorry. My wife had a chicken panini which also was very disappointing. The chicken was very dry and the sandwich was bland. I will say, once again, that the service is outstanding and the atmosphere is very comfortable and romantic...great place for a date or night out with your significant other. The pizza looked good and many of the entrees we watched coming out of the kitchen looked good as well. They're worth a try. read more

Horrible experience at Cafe Piazza tonight... some of my girl friends and I went to celebrate Galentines' Day (which was the night of the Super Bowl this year), which I didn't think would be a problem since their posted hours are until 9 PM on Sundays and they hadn't posted nor communicated any change to their hours due to the Super Bowl. We got there around 6:30... no one came to take our order until 15 minutes later. Only 1 girl was waiting tables, and another 4 were just sitting around in the back hanging out. There was one other family when we got there, and there was one couple who I think got up and left since it took so long for someone to come by to take their orders. After ordering and getting our food (just okay--honestly, Olive Garden is better. Yes, I said it). 1 of the others who had been sitting in the back doing nothing came to the front and started loudly flipping the signs to closed. I was like "I am so sorry, I thought y'all closed at 9, what time are y'all closing?" It was 7:45 at this point. She said "oh we decided to close early because of the super bowl" very shortly/rudely. I apologized and said "we didn't know y'all would be closing early," as it wasn't communicated ANYWHERE. I checked their Facebook and website. Anyway--a few minutes goes by and our waiters offers dessert, and we did want dessert, so we got some. The other 4 who hadn't been doing anything the entirety of the night started closing blinds and putting chairs on top of tables all around us. We were obviously being pushed out, but our waiter hadn't brought our check yet, so we were a bit stuck. It was a horrible experience. Though I live in Collierville, I rarely take friends out or suggest Collierville restaurants because the service consistently is horrible. What is the problem?! Anyway--don't go. When we've been there in the past the food is good. We tried to go there yesterday on a nice fall weather day to sit on the patio with our dog and was told that the dog was not welcome. There's only a few places in Collierville Town Square that has patios that you can take your dog and apparently this is not one of them. So we left and went to another dog friendly restaurant nearby and had a great meal. Almost all businesses in the area want foot traffic for the people that live in the area. But if you want to take your pet for a leisurely stroll and get something to eat, you will have to find somewhere else? read more

We went for lunch Saurday. After being seated we waited for about 7 minutes before our server took our drink order. He brought our drinks and walked away. 10 minutes later he took our food order. Once our food order arrived my wife's water was empty at this point he never came back to check on us. After we were done with our meal it was our intention to share a tiramasu, which is customary for us on a first visit. Another 10 minutes went by before a different server cleared our plates. 5 minutes later server # 1 drop the check on the table and walked away. My husband went to make them aware and while he was doing this, a white couple was seated and immediately brought water and received service.
