I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant and so did my spouse. I chose the hummus dip appetizer and a 3 black bean taco plate entree. The spouse chose the açaí bowl and the steak quesadilla. We ate and enjoyed all our food. The spouse especially like the bowl and the steak was tender and flavorful. My portions were sized just-right. A few interesting things to note. Parking was challenging due to the graduation or some event going on at the stadium. The clientele was very fun and diverse. There were people and families of all ages and types. This really is a surf shop with a restaurant but at the time we were there, no one was really in the surf shop proper and most of the people were ordering food/drinks and enjoying the live band. I'm not someone who writes negative reviews often but I'm just so not impressed with this place. We placed an order online and it said it would be ready for pick up 25 minute and it ended up taking an extra 25 minutes, so my husband went in to see why it was taking so long and he's says the main cook guy came back inside all sweaty, put gloves on without washing his hands first and then started cooking. This would be yucky to me at anytime but especially during a pandemic. I called to let them know that the experience was really really bad and that we would be throwing the food away and all he said was sorry, didn't offer to refund us or anything like that. Pretty much all lettuce, barely any steak(dry), and there was also no cilantro lime crema like stated on the menu. My fiancé and I first had a vacation to Pensacola a year ago and ever since we haven't stopped talking about the banana bread. We finally got the chance to go back recently and are completely still in love with it. Is this review mainly going to be about the banana bread? Yes. But before i go into further detail about the delicious chocolate chip banana bread i'll tell you that everything else we've ordered is delicious and the atmosphere is perfect. Back to the banana bread.. Whoever makes this, is a genius! We asked the cashier if we could buy a whole loaf to take home by chance but we would've had to order it ahead of time and we were on our way back to our home state. Thick, dense, rich, full of flavor and chilled. I can't even begin to describe it to the extent that it deserves. Kudos to the sweet soul who makes that because I will continue to go back to Pensacola just for that bread alone. Ps. Order the banana bread, I recommend the chocolate chip or walnut. During hurricane Irma I evacuated Naples and have been cooped up in a motel in Pensacola. I keep a really clean eating regim and miss my daily foods. This cafe is located inside a shop. It has a good vibe and the staff is amazing. When you're visiting a town with a food allergy, you never know what to expect. My husband ordered the açaí bowl, which he said was delicious, but was too small to fill him up. Luckily I had all those hash browns to share! First impression was the most beautiful front door I have ever seen and the customer service is awesome. The restaurant is located inside of Waterboyz and the decor is skater/surfer vibe and it's soo much fun. I ordered the breakfast wrap which consisted of Eggs, bacon, avocado, black beans and yellow rice. It was soo delicious. They have a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they also offer vegan and gluten free options. I could go on and on but I invite you to discover this gem for yourself. I love the vibe here. It's unique, being located inside a surf shop, and very salt life. The only issue I had with the location was the lack of parking. I parked around the side of the building, so no big deal, but be aware that you may have to circle the building to find a spot to park. When you enter the cafe there are menu stands from which to grab a menu. Once you've decided your meal choice you order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to your table when it's ready. My order consisted of a Caramel latte, tofu scramble, and green goddess. The food was okay- the tofu was a bit bland- but the juice was soooo good, as was the coffee. I added salt to my tofu and that helped a lot. I actually prefer salting my own food. This spot offers options for meat eaters and plant based diets, which is nice when you have a mixed group.
