They've moved down the street! There's a lot more seating inside now. Maybe outside too? It was hard to tell on the rainy day we ate there. The menu is still the same. Upon arrival, this cafe is pretty unassuming. But we took a chance, walked in, and it turned out to be one of the best breakfasts my husband and I had. Perfect for a gloomy Monday, especially with their incredibly friendly staff! Everything was super customizable and even a simple cup of coffee went a long way. This is my go-to breakfast spot while visiting my family in Connecticut. The breakfast options are bomb (love the Mexicali wrap) and always hit the spot. The small fruit cup that comes on the side and plastic utensils always are wasteful and I hope they update this but otherwise it's a great place to spend a lazy morning. Expect to wait a bit of time for your food. In the interim, find a place to sit outside among the garden or inside at the local art featured on the walls. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the ambiance. If you're in a rush to eat they offer some chips and small bakery items that are available for consumption immediately. read more

I enjoy walking down to Cafe Sol after classes just down the road at the yoga studio. There's loads of street parking nearby but they also have their own parking lot which is convenient. They've got outdoor and indoor seating and the vibe is overall relaxed. Their drinks are a bit pricey but it's organic Ashlawn Farm coffee so it's worth it. I enjoy an iced Cappalatte, they're delicious and usually great, but I had a less than stellar experience recently. My order was incorrectly entered as a hot cappuccino; no big deal, these things happen. The employee who entered it confirmed I ordered it iced, that they made a mistake, and asked staff to make the correct drink. I thought it was odd when I got my iced drink and it felt somewhat hot in my hands but chose to give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, 5 minutes later, the ice in my drink was completely melted and the drink was room temp. Rather than making the correct drink they had poured the hot cappuccino into a cup of ice and presented it as the iced CappaLatte. I called to address what happened when I got home and they were receptive to my feedback, even offering to remake my drink or refund me. I appreciate the way they handled it so for that I will still give a good rating, but really wished they had just done the right thing in the first place. I haven't ordered food from Cafe Sol but their menu is mostly breakfast fare, a variety of hand foods (sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, burgers, etc.), and salads that seem healthy and yummy. Good food! We stopped here before we headed back to NY. We got the harvest burrito, a bagel with cream cheese and a MexiCali burrito. All were made very well! I got some siracha sauce on the side with my burrito, and glad I did. MexiCali was delicious but if you like a bit more kick/salt I'd suggest getting some sauce on the side. You want enormous yet high quality portions? Come to Cafe Col. For example, my Italian quesadilla was quite tasty but probably was more than what one person needs in a meal. Honestly I regret eating most of it...but the mix of cheese and sausage was so good. We ordered a grilled cheese for our kid and that was actually pretty good too. I expected a plain sandwich but they snuck in a good amount of flavor. Yes, that does mean I ate some of it too. There is a cozy outdoor seating area and more indoor seating as well. Someone will bring your food to you if you are sitting outside. One warning - it takes quite some time to make your food. Cafe Sol is upfront about this though (they warn you with a sign!) so I don't hold it against them. read more

Local place that has really good food. Enjoyed a sunny day outside on their patio and enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich- which was perfect. Soft pumpernickel and love the salty /sweet with the craisens and sprouts. Biggest surprise was the cheese quesadilla. I ate 1/2 of my sons order because I was obsessed! Not sure the mix of cheeses they use- but whoa. I'll stop by there just for that !!! Doesn't hurt that the people that work there are really friendly and make you feel at home. read more

There was a line out the door and a sign that said "our food is made with love and sometimes takes time, please be patient" but the coffee came right away and the sandwiches we ordered didn't take very long. The kids menu is okay -- your standard pbj and grilled cheese that comes with fresh veggie sticks as a side. A bit pricey for a kids meal that doesn't come with drinks. 2 chocolate milks were extra charges and could have been up to $3 each? I had this place as 3 stars but had to change it after today. I went in, there was not a line. I got a coffee with vanilla flavoring and cream. They gave me whole milk instead, and the coffee tasted terrible. It took 8-10 minutes and tasted burnt and bitter (not in the way coffee is supposed to be bitter lol). Because of the previous bad experiences Ive had here (wrong orders, long wait) I decided to give them one more chance, and I regretted it. $6 down the drain for a little coffee I didn't drink. Everyone in town LOVES this sweet little sandwich and coffee shop with a beautiful outdoor patio. It's quirky & bright and it's absolutely lovely to sit outside in the summer watching butterflies, and cozy & inviting to be inside on a cold winters day when there's snow falling into Main St. I swear I've seen Lorelei Gilmore sitting there in a big bulky cardigan waiting for Rory. The BBQ chicken Caesar salad was a hearty portion and pretty good, though the BBQ seemed a bit out of place and it didn't resemble a Caesar other than the shaved cheese on top. This is a cute little sandwich shop that I would of gave more stars to if they cleaned the flies off of the light chandeliers when you first walk in or removed the dead rotting Halloween pumpkins that are placed in the front entrance. I ordered the vegetarian bean wrap which was tasty and my sister had the grilled cheese with bacon. They serve a tiny pasta cup with the wrap that had tuna it and hers came with raw vegetables. I don't know why you would serve tuna pasta with a vegetarian dish but they did and I didn't eat it. Most likely will not go back to this place.
