American Breakfast

This place is incredible! They could rest on the cool location alone but they also have a unique menu and delicious food? They didn't need to do it all! First, the location- this cafe is in the Rockville air park. The restaurant has massive windows on every wall and a large outdoor patio. You could sit and watch the planes come and go for hours! Second, the menu- the owners have included some European and Norwegian foods! If you're looking for a classic full English breakfast, authentic Norwegian pancakes, or specific snacks and desserts, this is the place to go! Finally, the food- delicious! Beautiful! Incredible! We had three different dishes and they were each amazing. Add in excellent service and it was a perfect meal. This restaurant is also very family friendly, so you can bring your kids to watch the planes while you enjoy a delicious meal. Definitely recommend!

Why have we not been here before? I can't wait to go back! It does get busy but we were seated quickly and chose to be outside. We loved watching the planes take off and land. If you looking for quiet this is not the place. It's not a bad noise and it's fun. We had a great view and were very comfortable. The staff are all professional and nice and the food was excellent. Good size portions. They also bake fresh new goodies on site that they sell. We tried their chocolate and peanut butter cookie which was yummy. We left very full, extremely satisfied and eager to return.

When we first drove up we weren't sure if we were in the right place! It is indeed inside a small airport!! It was a really cool spot. The staff were nice. I can't remember our servers name but he was quirky(we loved his hat!) helpful, and he knew the menu well and was able to answer our questions. The owner stopped by our table with the cafes namesake. Sophie the goldendoodle. He was always aware of where she was to make sure she doesn't disturb anyone. Our table loved her and our chat with the owner. They were also able to accommodate some of our parties dietary restrictions with no fuss The food was really good. I had the Crogel sandwich. It was lovely!! Friends had eggs Benedict and enjoyed it. Poached eggs were more hard boiled but they enjoyed it anyway. I very much enjoyed the cafe and the outdoor seating I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

I wouldn't say this this is Montgomery County's best kept secret because tons of us know about this place, but there are still a lot of people who have no idea that Cafe Sophie is this amazing Scandinavian gem nestled in an tiny airpark. If you have a hankering for some delish breakfast/brunch/lunch vittles than look no further than Sophie's. I had the most amazing french toast here last week. Seriously, I think it may have been the best I've had in my life and I'm an old man. It was a daily special so I'm not sure I'll ever be able to have it again but alas...at least I can say I had it once. The staff here are also amazing. Kind and helpful...what more could you ask for. I really love this place and wish that I didn't love 45 minutes away but in the end, it's always worth it. Try them out...especially for breakfast. You won't be disappointed.

We had an excellent Saturday morning breakfast out on the patio - in addition to the amazing food, there is also lots to see as small planes are constantly coming in and taking off. Despite that, we were still able to converse just fine in normal voices. We were able to enjoy some of the fresh, delicious pastries as well - but don't wait to order! After we finished our breakfast, some of the selections had already sold out. The Pannekaker (think crepes) were delicious - definitely recommend ordering them with fruit. I really enjoyed the Smorbrod open faced roast beef - very hearty and filling, fresh and delicious. I also like that all the coffee and tea here is served in a wide variety of colorful ceramic mugs - the only way to enjoy a hot drink! This is a great spot for families with kids, or for anyone looking for great food and a unique atmosphere!

Still yummy, still warm and hospitable service, and still cozy ambiance. Nom nom nom!

A search for a breakfast spot led a friend and I to Cafe Sophie. We arrived just as they opened on Mother's Day morning and were quickly seated out on the patio. We were able to watch as planes took off and landed as we caught up and enjoyed our breakfast of pannekakers and iced teas. A great spot for watching the planes and enjoying the beauty of this spring morning!

Good food, great service, fun view I got the English breakfast and a cup of tea. The English breakfast was great, but needed a little salt. It made for the perfect English experience.

Crogal

I wanted to try the crogal to compare it to some of the others I've had. Overall the sandwich was nice but a bit overpriced for that you got. It also didn't have some of the herbs in other crogals I've had. My husband had the pancake and said it was good but very dense. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The decor was a little lacking and the building itself smells very old, but that can't be helped considering the location. Overall I'm happy I went

This has potential and I can see the appeal. It's a cool concept to have a cafe at the small Airpark, where you can eat brunch and watch the airplanes. This experience lost one star for service. We waited several minutes awkwardly at the narrow entrance waiting to be greeted and sat. We ordered water to drink. I was first and asked for water with lemon. She specifically asked if I wanted ice and I said yes. We got four glasses of water, all with no ice. My husband ordered a coffee, which never came. I asked for her opinion on two sandwiches and she said she hadn't tried them. I selected the baguette sandwich. The menu was confusing, because I didn't realize it's prosciutto and jarlsberg or turkey and Brie with lingonberries. Why not just have two separate sandwich listings. Onto the food. I opted for the prosciutto sandwich. It desperately needed some moisture. I added some of my husband's dressed side salad and that improved it greatly. I think it needs a side item too. Half of the sandwich with some sauce plus a cup of fresh fruit would be great. My daughter got a cheeseburger. They were out of cheddar, so we asked what other cheese options and the waitress struggled a little. She opted for provolone. Her burger was tasty but so buttery that she needed extra napkins. My mom selected steak and eggs and my husband got a chicken parm sandwich. Maybe we didn't read it correctly, because it wasn't quite what he expected. It tasted okay. I might go back and sit on the sunny patio and get coffee and simple breakfast.

This place is really more of a 3.5* spot for me but I appreciate the home style feel and how it (I think) is family run. What we got: Kjottkaker - 3* not everything I thought it'd be. I was expecting it to be a bit more flavorful. Adding salt and pepper to the potatoes helped. The mushy peas were no as tasty as I remember them being in England. I do thing this dish would be better if it came with toast and then put the lingonberry sauce on that instead. Roasted Potatoes & Egg Skillet - 4* good flavor! We're not chefs but the eggs seemed more over medium than poached but they were still delicious. The brioche bread though, that was amazing. They sell it by the loaves so we bought one.

I've only done takeout from the Nibbler, but it is just a small place in a strip mall next to the Dunkin Donuts and Papa John's. It doesn't have frills or look fancy inside, but that's not what you're here for. You're here for good af Peruvian food and that's what you'll get. My husband and I still prefer the Nibbler over other fancier Peruvian places simply because their food tastes like home cooking, not food that just came out of the kitchen of a restaurant and you can't beat that. It's always consistent, always quick, and the staff are very friendly and willing to answer any questions you have.

RICE & FRENCH FRIES OMGGGG this was beyond amazing and filling. The salmon seemed to be flattened then grilled which is unique but no complaints. I added onions, avocado, rice and fries which were a good balance of flavor and different textures. At the last minute I added red beans and oh my this was so delicious and gave rice the juice it needed. I savored EVERY last bite, this was a huge portion and to be honest can be shared (I personally rather save some for later since I refuse to share this amazing food). I'm definitely coming back for more. Customer service was and still is AMAZING! My order was ready when I got there and the last assisted me with pleasure. I recognize the warm welcoming and embrace and so grateful for it. Place was beautiful and clean, like I've say before, it has a house feeling and so intimate. Overall, this place has my heart and should have yours too!

I got my favorite, the turkey and cranberry sandwich with onion rings. Their onion rings are amazing. I honestly haven't found onion rings anywhere else that compare. The sandwich is just as good as I remembered. The bread is toasted, so it doesn't get soggy. The turkey is moist without being squishy, and the cranberry sauce isn't overly tart. Everything together just melts in your mouth and is absolutely delicious. I'm so glad they were able to expand without losing what made them special. I'll definitely keep coming back.
