Cafe Stelio's in Merrillville, IN is a great place to grab breakfast/lunch. We had their breakfast it was very well prepared. Everything was great from the over easy eggs, grits and sausage. My husband and I absolutely enjoy having breakfast at Cafe Stelio's. The food is scrumptious. We order the Power House, Keto-licious, or the French toast combo. The food is freshly prepared. The fresh squeezed orange juice is just that" fresh squeezed" not that concentrated, sugar load drink. The ambiance is wonderful. The servers are warm and friendly. This place is highly recommended. This is probably one of my favorite places to get brunch. The service is just as good as the food. The server had a uplifting attitude that helped brighten my day. I called in an order for 2 stacks of pancakes and a veggie omelette. When we got home we were missing a full order of pancakes. I called the restaurant and they were kind enough to deliver the missing pancakes. The gentleman who delivered the pancakes explained the mix up. Good food and great people. read more

My mom and I stopped by today for breakfast. Let me just say it was fantastic! The restaurant itself is beautiful. The food was great. I had the bacon cheddar waffle with housemade sausage patties, the syrup served with the food was pure Vermont maple syrup! AWESOME!!! My mom had a build your own omelette which came with hash browns and a biscuits enjoyed the food as well. I definately recommend this spot, and will return! read more

Went here because my mom and sister had come before and got some soup and wanted to come back to try out some more things on the menu. The experience was very disappointing. Every single one of our orders was received incorrect. We got French toast instead of waffle, then received wrong toppings, received wrong items on salad, received an extremely over cooked omelet with pork all in it (can't eat pork), etc. A few things we just let go after repeatedly having to get them fixed because we were made to feel like we were bothering, when these issues shouldn't have happened in the first place. Then upon getting the bill, we were charged for part of a meal that got sent back uneaten because it was inedible and informed it was left on there. We were also overcharged the wrong price for another item (waffle) that had been made incorrect twice and we finally decided to take it as it was to not deal with it anymore as we felt uncomfortable. We tried it for lunch this afternoon after reading some good reviews on Yelp. I must say we were not disappointed! The whole experience was great, from the greeting at the door, the superb service from our server Falon, and of course the food was fresh and tasty. The chicken tenders were probably the best I've ever had; good quality food prepared in a healthy way if thats your request. I'm sure we will be going back! Excellent! The cinnamon roll french toast was the very best. Good sausage as well. My friend had a burger that was huge and he said it was juicy and delicious. Lots of fries to go with it. I called Cafe Stelois in Merrillville, In. when I lost my husband last month to set up my luncheon. I talked to Mike the owner and he was do very helpful, he gave us choices of meats, potatoes and veggies, salad and drinks all at a very reasonable price. When we arrived he had everything in place. The food was absolutely awesome, everyone and I do mean everyone rant and raved about how good the food was. The service was spot on. Went here shortly after it opened. The food was ok, the coffee was good. However, for the prices they charge, you can go down the street to Maxim's and get the same thing for half the price. Also, the waitress lacked sensibility. She was a bit older and when talking to people of color, she sounded like she was trying to use phrases she thought they used. This is my favorite restaurant to eat for breakfast or lunch in town. I've been here over a handful of times; I'm always trying something different and so far...I've left satisfied & with a smile, everytime! The service is friendly and I'm always in-and-out of their within an hour. In the morning - I love their breakfast tacos especially if you want to try something a little different. This place is phenomenal. I went with coworkers and this prego momma was hungry!!! They have an amazing menu, lots of options. Everyone's food looked and smelled amazing. I ordered the lemon raspberry crepes. I got the lemon raspberry French toast. If you have ever been prego (3rd trimester too!), you know that we are hungry and when we want something, we want THAT something. But as she came out with the french toast and placed it in front of me, hungry won out. I did tell her that I ordered the crepes, not the French Toast and i didnt get an apology, but a "oh!" only. I said it was fine, I was hungry b/c didn't want to wait another 10 mins. It was delicious. It would have been absolutely amazing had I wanted french toast but at least the flavors were right. I will tell you tho, I was pretty disappointed when I got the bill and saw I was charged for the $4 more french toast and not the crepes I had ordered. She also got some of my co-workers bills messed up too but easy fixes. I would go back, especially if I lived closer. When in the area, it will definitely be on the top of my list to go to. I have visited Stelio's Cafe multiple times now every time I go I get something different. Needless to say no matter what I get the food is always exceptional and bursting with flavor. Whether it's breakfast or lunch the texture and taste of the food provides a combination of flavors the region has never seen.
