I was excited to try cafe Stella for the first time after hearing great things about it from locals. I had a reservation made a week prior to celebrate my anniversary with no issues. on the day we were supposed to go, we get a text 45 mins prior to our reservation saying they had to cancel us because they didn't have enough room for 2 people. the text even said "we hope you find other accommodations". At 5:15pm on a Friday night of NAU graduation and Mother's Day weekend, every place was booked. Tried to leave a google review about this experience and google has miraculously turned off their ratings for 'suspiciously high ratings in a short amount of time.' I called to complain about what happened and management claimed it was a 'glitch' in their reservation system with no sincere apology. This experience makes me not want to give this restaurant any future business. read more

I selected pasta with eggplant for dinner the night I ate there. The main issue was the eggplant (which I generally enjoy in pasta) was under cooked. The undercooked eggplant ended up giving me bad indigestion. Under cooked eggplant has a chemical called Solanine, that will give anyone indigestion. They need to properly cook the eggplant if they are going to offer this dish. Another issue was their marinara sauce had way too much red pepper. Overall it was not an enjoyable dinner and will not return. read more

The food here was super good! It was extremely flavorful and delicious. I would recommend making a reservation for dinner time or else the wait can be pretty long, around an hour. We were definitely rushed as the line built up since the restaurant itself is small and they didn't offer or check on us anymore, just felt like they wanted us out about 30 minutes after we ordered. Overall it was a good experience though, just wish they didn't rush us and kept the people waiting away from our table as that was also a problem. read more

The wait was about 45 minutes, it is a smaller place with limited tables. would recommend a reservation. The bruschetta board for sure was an honorable mention. A tad high price wise but was very tasty and many different options. I wish they would slice the bread in half or fourths especially when sharing but no fuss. The steak alfredo was tasty. 9/10. Noodles were PERFECT. Alfredo was SO yummy, great flavor. The steak was ok, nothing to rave about but good pairing. Paired my meal with a glass of moscato which was also very good. Wrapped it ip with some tiramisu. HUGE portion. It was good. 7.5/10. And finally the service, unfortunately thats where they lost stars. Definitely the worst part. They were busy, so its understandable but the point of going out to eat is to be waited on and taken care of... It took quite some time for us to get waters and an extra 10 min for her to even ask if we wanted anything else to drink. No one ever checked on us during our meal to see if it was ok and then we had to flag our server down to order dessert AND to get the check. read more

My wife and I loved our romantic Italian dinner. The ambience was so cool. We loved the music and atmosphere. Started off with a great whisky (amazing pour I might add) and my wife had a nice drink as well. Our server was perfect, she had a super personality and she was from Brazil. The food was so good. We had a yummy Burrata starter and had super delicious homemade pasta dish. Topped it off with some French Vanilla Bean ice cream topped with an espresso shot. We went here for dinner on Friday. The place wasn't that busy for a Friday evening, even though downtown was super busy. The interior was ok, nothing special. However, the staff was super friendly. They have a pretty limited menu, for me nothing stood out, so I asked the server what she recommended. She rattled off a few items, so I chose one if them; the Tuscan Salmon. It was disappointing, basically a piece of salmon on a bed of pasta. The salmon was good, but the pasta was pretty bland and dry. I wasn't a fan of the homemade pasta, it was too thick for me. The pasta was so dense and cooked to perfection, the sauce was a perfect combination of creamy and zesty, and the chicken had some kind of seasoning that tied the whole dish together.
