    Vaquero fries with asada

Nice location right in the center of Reno. Service was lovely ~ our waiter was tom and he was so kind. Food was good. Took a bit to come out but quality was high. We got the - Vaquero Fries with Asada: overall pretty good flavor overall. The asada itself a bit bland but dish was still good with all the flavors mixed - Cobb salad: refreshing and healthy and chicken add on was a decent size

The restaurant is very spacious and full of half private rooms for more cozy dinners among smaller groups. The service is swift and polite. We had a gem of a waiter, called Tom. He was funny, quick witted and remembered requests and was just overall incredibly kind. We had the Hamachi Crudo (fire water ponzu, fresh yuzu juice, ginger, cilantro, serrano pepper, puffed rice, radish, green onion) and the Ramen: Miso dashi (needed more of that), broccolini (steamed), chili crunch(where though?), grilled corn (interesting, weird, but good), roasted nori, jammy egg (not a marinated one, just soft boiled. Still delicious, just not very Ramen-style-jammy-eggy) and it was an fascinating experience. The Crudo was magnificent and perfect, and the ramen was a very not Ramen ramen. It was more of a Soup disguised as Ramen. After all, it did have broth, curly noodles, nori and a regular soft boiled egg. I liked it, but with our experience of the restaurant "Ramen Shop" in Oakland, this felt very not Ramen-ey. We still will be back, when we pass through. It was a very pleasant experience overall, especially thanks to Tom.

I am so impressed with the quality of food here. And it was affordable and it was easy to get a table. The ambiance is work coctail type attire. We all really enjoyed our meal. There is a great diversity of food with us ordering everything from steak, burger and pasta dishes. All of it was very high quality. The service was fantastic. If you are going to a show in downtown Reno, cafe Whitney is a great place to go.

Had a nice late dinner with the Mrs. on a Saturday night before a concert at Cargo. We had some apps and draft beers because we didn't want a big meal. The bartender was quick to serve us and the overall experience was great. The dining area is nice, it wasn't very crowded. The bar seating area was nice and comfy. I'm looking forward to coming back soon for a nice meal again when we have more time, the menu looks like it has a lot of good options to try.

Jeffrey is hands down one of the best bartenders we've ever had! Every time we visit Reno, we make it a point to stop by because we know we're in for an amazing experience. I usually order his perfect espresso martini, but it was a little too late for all that caffeine. Jeffrey took the time to ask what flavors I was in the mood for and created a custom martini just for me. It was made with brown butter bourbon, chocolate and sea salt caramel liqueur, and finished with dark chocolate and caramel syrup. It sounds like it would be overly sweet, but it was perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. What really sets Jeffrey apart is that he genuinely listens and loves creating the perfect drink for his guests. His friendly personality and incredible attention to detail make every visit memorable. We always look forward to seeing him whenever we're in Reno. If you have the chance, let Jeffrey make you a cocktail--you won't be disappointed!

We walked here for breakfast into a beautiful restaurant. The decor and natural lighting was beautiful. The service was good as we walked in right at the end of breakfast and they still let us order breakfast items. The food was just okay nothing amazing but they did have good portions.

We loved it! It was walkable from Caesars Row. We were quickly seated and split the turkey club. The chef was thoughtful enough to split it for us and it came with shoestring fries. It was very tasty and perfectly put together. Definitely worth a visit.

Food was just so-so. Ask for "real eggs" if you want scrambled eggs. Not horrible but nothing to write home about either. The fellow that sat us was exceptional and got us our drinks. We saw our waitress one time to order and she never came back. Someone else from the kitchen delivered our food. Not bad but wouldn't return

Been awhile since I last reviewed Cafe Whitney. An update is in order. We have been back a number of times since it is a block from home and is a good spot to go when we don't feel like cooking. We came recently to get a bite before going to a show knowing that they are usually very quick in getting orders out. I had the pasta with sausage and a good not too sweet mocktail. My husband had the roasted half chicken. Both meals were good and portions were generous. The service was good, orders taken and food brought out in a timely manner. They were not very busy and most patrons were at the bar. It is a good neighborhood spot for a nice meal.

Great food and service! Love the look of the restaurant that feels Classy, fancy, but not "hoity-toity". Didn't need reservations and was sat right away. Has large tables, so great for larger parties. Great spot to eat or drink before a show at Cargo and has a locals discount. Fair prices and the food met my expectations. Open slightly later than other restaurants downtown. Highly recommend and I will be back.

The tortilla chips were house-made, the brisket was quite flavorful and tender - it all came together perfectly with the sauce, crema, egg, avocado and cilantro. We both ordered the spicy margarita, which was excellent. Not too strong and with a nice kick. We arrived around 1pm and sat next to a wood burning fireplace. Talk about feeling spoiled with the whole place to ourselves! Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. We knew they had just hired a new chef and he has been working hard on a new menu that will rollout very soon. Apparently, he has offered several specials over the past few weeks as an "introduction" to his culinary talents and all have been well-received. We look forward to returning when the new menu is fully integrated. The whole restaurant/bar/club is beautifully decorated and feels very upscale, but not pretentious. The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Creates a laid-back vibe while still getting high quality food.

Situated in Mid-Town, it is conveniently located near the River and an easy walk to to the Pioneer Center. Have no fear, there is quite normal food fare in addition to the more exotic. We went with a large group, so we were able to sample the exotic and the more traditional. Starting with the Double Elk Chops, featured on Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins, the Elk is a bit on the gamey side, tender with a hint of lamb taste but a finish of liver, it is not for everyone. Scottish Eggs is a soft boiled egg, wrapped in sausage, then deep fried. It is served with a beer mustard. My friend, from England, was quick to order the Scottish Eggs. He reported that they were a bit over cooked but otherwise fine. 6/10. The Kangaroo Philly Cheese Steak sounds more exotic than the taste. For this sandwich I would have appreciated a bit more Kangaroo :-) but otherwise was good. Our friends seemed to enjoy the Boar Schnitzel and the portion was certainly large, as were all the portions at the Washoe Public House. The Short Ribs were so tended and a just a touch on the sweet side. My wife liked the sweetness but as a full meal, it was a bit sweet for my palate. I had the Washoe Burger with Bacon. A solid burger. I would have preferred my patty a bit less cooked but it was fine none the less. Rich with flavor, a solid choice. The fries were good. Nothing spectacular.
