We tried Cafe Whitney for the first time. We were very impressed and will come back. The lentil soup was delicious! Our server Raquel was very accommodating and pleasant to talk to, she suggested the chicken piccata and it was delicious. My wife and I will be back to try other dishes. read more

Sunday breakfast for a large group was easily accommodated after our weekend stay. The breakfast portions are huge! I opted for the Granola and Berry Hotcakes and even the short stack was almost too much food! The granola was soft and flavorful, hot cakes thick and tasty. From the other orders, it looks like all of the egg dishes were just as good. Coffee was great. Service was excellent considering the size of our table. Highly recommend whether staying at the hotel or elsewhere. read more

I appreciate your cappuccino that you make delish and made sure I received every thing I should with my breakfast voucher given to me because I had I to switch hotel rooms during my stay. I appreciate you having the cook mke me fresh potatoes that were original forgotten with my classic breakfast and re-do them because they were dried out looking and unappetizing. The food was amazing! I had the street tacos and the Baja shrimp tacos were by far the best. Cristina was our waitress and she was patient, funny and super helpful with the menu. We ordered the caramel brownie with vanilla bean gelato at her recommendation. It was the best dessert I've had in a long time. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will be back here any time I am in Reno. read more

Raquel was an incredible server! she was very attentive, but also focused on how to make your experience enjoyable too by just providing small things like an extra plate for my bones from wings or continuing to top off my drink. We had dinner here and it was awesome. Great service and amazing food. Cesar salad, hanger steak and crème brûlée were the stars. All dishes were excellent. Highly recommend going to Cafe Whitney. It's a short walk from the Row hotels. read more

Service and servers both was excellent . Very nice ambiance sitting is not so comfortable they metal chairs not so comfortable to eating according to me . My food experience was not so great I went on this Monday spend 60$ on food did even last 5 minutes I got sick food upset my stomach and made me throw up . It's just my experience I told server too they should compensate something or offer me food . But I am not expecting to be. I am still staying on Whitney hotel. read more

We were delighted to discover the amazing food at this charming restaurant in downtown Reno. The meals we had were outstanding. The salmon, shrimp chorizo pasta and the beef ribs create cravings!! Christina is the best server in Reno. She is so friendly and helpful. You will feel pampered!!! Happy hour wines are even better with that discount!! This place was super cute! Their cocktails were very tasty! Spaghetti and meatball - for some reason tasted spicy??? The menu didn't say anything about being spicy, so that was confusing as to why it was spicy. Tacos- I picked one of every meat, but the best one was the pork. The other two I needed to drown in salsa for some flavor because it was a little bland. Overall food was okay, if I were to come back I would probably try other foods and see if the food is just overall bland, or if they have other things that might taste better. read more

Charming, comfortable but hip restaurant. It might seem unassuming but one look at the wine list and you'll see there is nothing average about this place. Drinks were delightful, fresh and unique. Service was hands down fantastic. Gabe went above and beyond - even working with the valet to retrieve my phone charger. But more importantly was his thoughtful recommendations - attentively asking what I liked and making perfect suggestions. His choice for me, the chicken piccata, was truly the best I've ever tasted. If it wasn't inappropriate I would have licked the plate. It was life changing! I will stay here again just for the piccata and whatever Gabe has chosen for me next. read more

I kept seeing the cafe Whitney happy hour ad in every issue of edible reno mag and I am so glad I checked it out on a whim! What an awesome happy hour experience with incredible value for diners. We got blueberry caipirinhas, refreshing, fruity and perfect for summer! No wonder Brazilians adore this drink so much! Blown away by the quality for only $6. For appetizers tried the mushroom flatbread, bruschettas and fried shrimp. The fried shrimp were giant! I loved the batter to shrimp ratio and the tartar dipping sauces because the interior was still fluffy and full of shrimp and there wasn't too thick a crust or too little shrimp- favorite appetizer! The mushroom flatbread was also delicious and I loved the thick flakes of Parmesan on the side so you can sprinkle as much or as little as you like. The bruschettas were tasty and refreshing, loved the addition of little feta cubes! The one improvement I would recommend is to post happy hour times on the website! It is from 4-6pm but it may have been an outdated post from last year on the web it said 5-7. Wasn't a big deal for us since we came a little after 5 but still would be important to know and not get mixed up. Decor is modern and minimalist and you can see the staff in the kitchen with the open kitchen concept. Aesthetic on point for millennials who love an industrial, boho vibe. The best part? Our bill was under $40 and we were FULL. And none of the food was greasy or weighed heavily after which is what tends to happen at other affordable happy hours serving bar food. Will be back to try more of the drinks and happy hour menu, and maybe a brunch! read more

On the face, the food was ok. Average. When you consider the price, it's a stone cold ripoff. Service was sub-par at best. Bottomless mimosas is just a marketing ploy - good luck getting a refill. On a positive note - the chocolate cake was exquisite. I regret to say I shall not return. An eating establishment for this price needs more than rich chocolate cake to earn its money. read more

I hosted a baby shower at the Bead room at the Whitney Peak Hotel, from booking to day of event the staff were great. During the party, Cristina was fantastic at making sure we had everything we needed right away with setup and throughout the night, and she was great coordinating with us including making sure our vegan and vegetarian guests were served properly too. She and the bartender, Paul, were great checking that we had everything we needed throughout the party, and updating us about the schedule of food, drinks, etc. would be served. The food was delicioua, the service was great, and we had the whole side of the restaurant for the party which gave lots of room for guests. I would highly recommend doing an event here and am grateful for how Cristina helped us host such a memorable baby shower! read more

Came for dinner and drinks on a Tuesday night. Restaurant has great ambiance and an appetizing menu. That's where the praise ends. 7p and maybe 2 other tables occupied in the whole restaurant. Drinks came with basil, and the bartender hand selected crispy, brown basil leaves to place in our drinks. Why? Fail #1 BBQ sauce has some weird spice/aftertaste. Not a problem if it's on the side, but we ordered the steak with came with a compound butter that must have been made 4 weeks ago as it was liver brown and undiscernible. The steak was cold and placed on a lake of the bbq sauce. Potatoes super rich and buttery, broccolini was on point. We asked for a new plate with no bbq sauce. That came out fine except the meat was just not good. Tough, old, freezer like taste but it was at least fresh off the grill. Fail #2 Ordered the chicken sandwich. Decent, but the meat was definitely frozen and precooked. Fries were on point. .50 cents for ranch to dip them in!! Odd for a upscale place and a normal condiment. My son ordered the sausage and shroom pasta but the server brought the shrimp and chorizo dish. He ate the 3 shrimp and pasta and took home the other that seemed to come out quicker than all other dishes and looked dry. He awoke in the middle of the night with severe diarrhea just in time for his finals. Fail #3. To say we won't be back is an understatement. Server was great. He tried to fix everything. Kitchen and bar fail! read more
