We heard of this place through intentionalist so decided to give it a try. The place is small but it has a more homey vibe with a Mexican flare. You order at the counter and then they give you a number when it's ready. The guys are pretty nice. We got a pork taco plate which came with 2 tacos, rice and beans as well as a birria taco on the side. The tacos was really good! I enjoy the softness of the tortilla but it was still sturdy. The pork was not dry and they put a lot in there and I didn't miss any of the pickled veggies I usually put on tacos. The birria was saucy and also really enjoyable. Overall, it was a good spot to hit if you're in the area :)

Hole-in-wall-esque Mexican spot in South Seattle. The five stars was for the Chili Relleno Burrito ($10.75), which I've been dying to try for a while. It didn't look like much but it was pure, cheesy, ooey, tasty goodness. Also ordered the chicken mole plate ($12.50), this was just okay. Their house made sauces / salsas are also incredible. Kind staff who brought our food directly to us :)

I got a birria quesadilla which came with beans and rice which was around $15 w/tip. The food was served hot (if it's not burning I don't want it, jk). Food was yummy and it felt like a home cooked meal.

This is a good, no frills and authentic Mexican Food restaurant. The tortillas were homemade and very fresh. I ordered 4 different tacos, birria and chips & salsa. The pork and chorizo tacos were excellent, the chicken mole and asada tacos were okay. The birria was good, but I prefer queso birria (birria with cheese). Overall, this is a good and very affordable Mexican Restaurant.

A really solid spot for Mexican food in Beacon Hill. I tried both the chilaquiles with carne asada and the pork tamal. The chilaquiles were my favorite of the two things I tried as it had a really great proportion size and tasted very comforting. The tamale was good and cheap. Overall good food for a low price you can't find at most places nowadays. The servers were also really kind. The space is very small so just be aware of that if you dine in.

Great little joint up on Beacon Hill! A bit divey on the inside but the food is great! Stuff tried: Tamales: these are some of the best tamales in Seattle! rajas con queso is their most popular one. The masa is not stodgy at all and has a lighter texture than most. It is delicious! The bean and cheese one is a little heavier but tasty too. Chiles relleno burrito: where has this been all my life? Basically, a chiles relleno plate (with rice and beans) stuffed into a burrito. Makes this not so portable dish portable! I will never eat chiles relleno any other way! Chiles relleno plate: okay sometimes i dont want to eat a burrito and want just want the standard plate version. The rice is quite delicious and must have been cooked in some broth or something because it has great flavor. With the corn tortillas this is great comfort food They offer a lot more tamale options that i still need to try and have pupusas too! Come get some!

What a fantastic spot for incredibly fresh and scratch made Mexican food. The Tamales are indeed worthy of the hype. I had the mole and it was so rich and the furthest thing from dry tamales you might have had before. The pozole was recommended by a guest as he was leaving and he was so right - it was incredible. Sooo flavorful and well balanced. I came with my toddler and she ate the entire bowl of rice. I couldn't blame her, it was super moist and yummy! The star of the show though, if that's possible at a place where everything was delicious, was the coffee. I came her because of a TikTok review of the coffee and she was so right. The Cafe Ola drink has no creamer or sweetener yet it is so creamy, smooth and flavorful. It's sweet and aromatic and unlike anything I've ever had before. Such a cool spot - highly recommend! I drove in from the 'burbs and it was totally worth it

This is really the only place we go to for tamales now. They're a little on the pricier side, but the tamales are huge. Love supporting a local business, staff are always friendly. We haven't tried too many other menu items yet, but will be back soon to try more.

This is a very welcoming café in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. I asked for a vegetarian tamale. Hafsia, the friendly barista explained to me the tamale is home made and different than the traditional one. It has various vegetables and very light on the cheese. That is exactly what I wanted and I really enjoyed it. I would like to try the other home-made items on the menu next time when I visit the shop. Please give it a try when you pass by. You will love it. read more

I was on a search for vegan tamales. I'm Mexican and even though I was changing my eating habits that didn't mean I was ready to completely forgo my favorite foods. There had to be some place that had vegan options available. Enter Cafetal Quilombo to save the day! Cafetal Quilombo is in Beacon Hill next to a convenience store and a bike "church". The place is tiny, or should I say cozy? There is seating for maybe twenty or so people but this is also a cafe shop therefore is a great spot to sip a coffee, eat some food, and chill out. The employees have always been welcoming. The food menu isn't large but it is more than made up with flavor. There are tortas, tamales, rice and beans, typical Mexican staples. There are numerous tamales choices: chicken, beef, black bean, bean and cheese, and my favorite, vegetables. The vegetables is the vegan option and it chalkfull of roasted veggies spiced just right. I asked about what was used in the maza instead of lard and I was assured for the vegetable tamales they used only oil and water. I can tell you there are delicious! I can't vouch for anything else because I am so stuck on the tamales that I have yet to try anything else. I am happy I found Cafetal Quilombo so I don't have to give up tamales. read more

Came here for the first time on a Sunday morning to order a coffee and tamales to go. Really sweet students running the front counter and the coffee was EXCELLENT ! I ordered the latte canela and it was Perfectly pulled espresso . The tamales were on point! 2.50 a pop , some of the best I've had here in Seattle . The masa was moist AND flavorful and the pork was tender . ( so good I forgot to take a pic ) They had a choice of beef, pork, chicken , bean/cheese , and veggie . My friends tried the beef and chicken and they also agreed that it was legit ! Other items I saw on the menu was tortas, quesadilla, and ceviche . I will def be a regular here! read more

Incredible vegetarian tamales!!! We tried the Rajas and cheese and vegetable tamale. They were loaded with fillings and very flavorful. The highlight is the sauces. The right amount of spice and complement the tamales so well. We came in the morning and they had a great coffee selection with alternative milk available for vegans! Very affordable too. Coming back for sure. read more

I live around the area and was happy to find out that a cafe was opening up... The service and staff is very friendly and the food and drinks are decent. We tried the tamales and was happy at first to how good of a deal it was however upon going the following day the price was raised because it was a hot commodity...not cool. Being a local cafe, in my opinion, I found this place rather expensive for the area. read more

Driving by you can easily miss this place or from a glance assume it's not a cafe. I have driven by this spot numerous times and have told my boyfriend we must try this spot on our next day off. Today is the day we finally get to see what this place has to offer. When you first walk in you automatically feel welcomed, it's cute little set up they have topped with unmatched chairs and art work, typical Seattle cafe but what makes this place unique is that not only have a wide variety of coffee but also a menu filled with Spanish food, from bagels to tamales. I tried the veggie bagel and added ham and it was amazeeee! This is a must try for anyone on the hill. read more

The best Tamales in Seattle hands down, best price, overall best of all time. I used to live close to here and the green pork are my favorite!! I have gotten bulk tamales from here for my workplace and parties and they have always been a huge success!!! can not recommend this place enough!!!!!!!!!! The coffee was good, but the chorizo burrito was odd to say the least. It was like an omelet with chorizo in it with nothing else. The grease penetrated all through the tortilla and it was sweating grease. The taste was bland to say the best. Through it away after two bites. read more

The owners are such nice people! I highly recommend the Chia lemonade on a hot day-super refreshing. The Gorditas and tamales are my favorite food choices. Especially the chicken mole tamale. The lattes are Mexican coffee are also good choices. The place is such a great deal and a good vibe. Summer days can get hot as there is no AC, but otherwise, this place is a gem! read more

This place is amazing. The inside is nice and bright. We didn't have any food except for a pastry but upon watching some of the food come out next time I will definitely be ordering. The employees are amazing welcoming and nice. When the woman wasn't having long involved conversations with us she was having friendly conversations in Spanish with another couple. It just seem like this will be a great neighborhood place for the diversity that is its neighborhood. read more

Finally tried the vegetable tamales. Holy seriousness, these are really, really good. Perfect flavor, I love the veggies they use and the tamale texture is great. Got another bagel breakfast sandwich, just as good as last time, and another delicious iced tea. I love this place, wish I made it here more often. The staff is awesome. read more

I wouldn't call it a Third Wave environment, but this place is making good espresso with nifty twists like super short lattes (the milk wasn't foamy enough to call it a flat white, but it was well-balanced) and drinks featuring piloncillo and mexican chocolate. Fun and interesting, and - bonus! - I got a tamale on the way out! Stop by MacPherson's vegetable market across the street, take a walk through Jefferson Park, and you've won yourself a Beacon Hill trifecta. read more

And then realized: could it be the vegeterian version? Why calling it egg then?? The smell was the opposite of appetizing. I ordered them for children and they had some flakes. Not a big deal this, but I wouldn't recommend something that simple on paper, but not in plate. 3 small tables downstairs in the middle of the hall. Seating is extended upstairs. Cool inside. Very warm outside during summer. Water stations on both stories. Staff was OK. They won't answer back even when only waiting for a sandwich to come out of the oven. This was hilarious. Not even at Starbucks. The big "but" for my party is going with kids. Having to take them down and upstairs everytime when ordering or picking up stuff. Because, let me tell you, there is a lack of empathy at this place. You'll have to sort it out with a baby and toddler on one hand, and tray, cups, utensils, second tray, coffee, salad, and miscellaneous on the other hand. Yes...you read right. And bringing all upstairs on as many rounds as you can. While baristas (3 baristas to make coffee and warm sandwiches) were chatting. The bright side: 2 were preparing food for next day :) Fortunately, another patron came to the rescue. She was chatting with their party and was a great samaritan for standing up, helping with the door, and bringing one of the trays. Tip: let water run a bit in yhe restroom. I got burned. I guess it was a bit stalled and sun didn't help :( Price and tip are not cheap! Would I come back? Definitely no!

It shares a parking lot with what looks like a defunct Rainier Beer Brewery building, though parking here was nearly packed near this location when I got here. Interior is very pink, very cute and very casual with semi-loud music and an environment that invites the laptop crowd to crowd in but without as much strength. There's also a drive-thru here, and the two baristas working the counter were super efficient dividing their time between the orders there and the orders coming from regular cafe patrons like myself! They were also pretty patient with me and other customers after me as I was still deciding what i wanted. They offer a wide variety of options from their signature coffees to healthier drinks and even some pastries and merch. You can get their drinks in various sizes, and the larger the size the more espresso shots it will have. With that said, I got their 16oz (2 shots of espresso) iced toffee butter macchiato with regular milk, and I could feel the espresso hitting me as I quickly downed the drink like I usually do. There's a little bit of sweetness from the caramel and toffee, and of course a strong caramel touch that actually stays on level with their coffee, which doesn't take over any of the taste added in. What a nice coffee place to stop at along a road that I travel often! I would so grab another one of their signature drinks when I come back here.

The setting for this cafe is pretty nice so we were anticipating an equally good experience with service and food. The food took 1 hour and 20 minutes from when we places our order to when it arrived.. the server was very nice and offered free drinks but at that point we wanted to just have our meal and leave. It was even more disappointing when we tasted the food and found it mediocre. The crepe we ordered was undercooked on the inside. We probably could have gone grocery shopping and whipped this up for less time and money. The prices are pretty high considering that they're serving breakfast food. We really wanted to like this place :(

I loathe coffee shops that make insanely sweet drinks. I want to taste my coffee, not the caramel, chocolate, whipped cream- whatever crap other coffee stores throw in to stifle the coffee flavor. I made a points to tell the barista, "I do not like sweet drinks". She said "We don't make our drinks too sweet here". I have heard that line before where a coffee shop tells me they can make it less sweet with using less pumps. Or that their drinks are not sweet, and I take one sip and I'm in sugar overload, this was not the case with All City Coffee. My vanilla cinnamon iced latte was perfection. It was probably one of the best drinks I've had in a long time from a coffee shop. Coffee with smooth and bold and not acidic at all. Highly recommend.

It turned out to be one of the best cups of chowder I've ever had--rich, flavorful, and loaded with crab. I sat at the bar, where Joyce took great care of me. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made an otherwise difficult day a little easier. Great service can make a real difference, and she absolutely delivered. Salty's isn't the cheapest dining option at SEA, but between the quality of the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and the outstanding service, I think it's well worth it. No introduction, no recommendations, no plates cleared. When I asked for something as simple as pepper, I got attitude, like I was putting her out. I typically tip 25%. I left 15% and honestly felt that was generous for what I received. At these prices, the food needs to be executed properly and the service needs to match. The chowder alone isn't enough to carry a $60+ meal. Would I come back? Maybe for a cup of chowder at the bar. Not for the full experience.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

I just found this place yesterday. The service by Miguel and his Mom was very warm and personable. My cappuccino was just right. I had the chicken verde and chicken mole tamales, which were by far the best I have ever had in Seattle. Cafetal Quilombo Cafe has very easy access just a quarter mile East of the West Seattle Bridge. It is now my new favorite break stop! read more

Awesome add to the neighborhood! Love the mom and pop ran coffee shop! They use Fonte beans and have the two brothers running the espresso machine. Don't forget the get their tamales and cafe Pune. Like everyone else I have to brag about the tamales. These guys by far have the best one I've ever had. I have also tried the Mexican sandwich and it is delicious too. Even though the coffee selection is limited I found it all to pair perfectly with my meal. read more
