So I ordered the antipasto and the coconut mahi-mahi. Both were great choices. The antipasto has enough of everything to share with 3 to 4 people. It comes with a good size mozzarella portions, cheese cubes, olives, hummus, prosciutto. The mahi-mahi was more than I expected. It had a good coconut taste to it. The portion size was large. Following that no more Olivia, just the manager taking orders. From the menu I asked for a bagel scooped. Upon arrival to the table no scooping, had to send it back. What a shame. On my previous visit, I ordered the lobster omelette - it was phenomenal and absolutely worth the 40-minute drive from my house. This time, however, I was told it's only offered as a special and wasn't available today. No problem, I pivoted and ordered the grilled mahi mahi salad. To be kind, it was underwhelming, more like average bar food and under seasoned. The only real positive is the setting - you're essentially having brunch on the beach, which is fabulous. Went to Caffe Luna Rosa for a late brunch and overall had a really nice experience. The restaurant is just steps away from the beach, which makes the location hard to beat, and the menu is huge with tons of options for both breakfast and lunch. Just a heads up that they close between around 3 PM and dinner service, so timing matters if you're going later in the afternoon. The food was the highlight. The lobster eggs benedict was very good, but the fresh catch of the day (yellowtail snapper) was absolutely beyond delicious -- super soft, tender, and flavorful. Definitely something I would order again without hesitation. We did go with a large group, and since they don't take reservations it took a while to get seated. One of the orders also got messed up, but with a bigger party that can happen and the staff was still friendly and accommodating. Parking is valet, but make sure to get your ticket validated at the restaurant -- it came out to $15 for all-day valet parking, which is actually a great deal for the beach area. Overall, great spot for brunch by the beach with a big menu and excellent seafood. Would definitely come back. read more

We were in town visiting family and wandered in here for a quick (and late) lunch. It was super windy but we sat on patio regardless and were immediately served. Waitress notified us that kitchen would be closing soon and we needed to order and close out with her but she was happy to accomodate around that. Drinks and food came out quickly, waitress was super friendly, and other staff who stepped in for her were gracious. Food isn't over-the-top recommendation worthy but it's a solid choice, great people and beach watching, and very convenient. read more

This place is really nice for breakfast! Although it is across from the beach... you don't really get much of a beach view as the bushes block the view of the ocean. If you sit outside you're basically on the street watching cars drive by, but it is still pleasant. We started with the Cuban sunrise coffee drink and it was SO good!! For breakfast we had an omelet and the loaded potato pancakes. Both were delicious! We also tried the blood orange mimosa and it tasted like it had fresh squeezed juice it was so good. Our experience here was okay. This place's location is the best, and maybe only thing, it has going for it. We had a 6 o'clock reservation for 6. We were seated promptly and the server brought bread out. We ordered cocktails, they took awhile to come, came at different times, and were not good. We had the burrata salad and Brussels sprouts for appetizers which were both good. We ordered our entrees and they took about 45 minutes to come out which was fine. We ordered a bottle of wine and it took over 25 minutes to come. The entire meal, the restaurant kept calling us to ask if we were on our way to make our reservation, I totally understand I miscommunication. Except, they then kept calling us the entire dinner even after we cleared it up once. They once even called to tell us our take out order was ready which was very confusing. Our entrees had mixed reviews. The halibut was good. The veal Marsala and beef tenderloins were not good. Not what it used to be! But, it started off great. Got there 15 minutes early and was seated in the best seat in the place, in my opinion. Waiter comes over to ask if I want a drink and I say "waiting for my guest". My guest comes 5 minutes early and 20 minutes later waiter finally comes for drink order. We had been trying to grab ANYONE's attention but no-one would look around the room. We grabbed a bus boy and asked him to get the waiter no luck. Waiter finally walks towards us but stops at another table to ask for their food order. WE GROAN LOUDLY. So he rudely asks if we are ready and says he had been over before(only when I was alone) and we give him drink orders and he asks for the entrees too which is rude in a place that is considered fine dining. But we do it. Food is so so. Caprese salad was awesome. Delicious. Elevated fresh and unique. My Steak Medallions were not filet they were shirt steak and tough for $45.00. What a lovely Easter brunch! We're entertaining friends from out of town and they wanted to dine with a beach view. As busy as the holiday weekend was, we waited for approximately 30 minutes at the bar for a table. The staff could not have been nicer considering the whole place was buzzing with activities. I had spent a couple of hours on the beach this morning and was looking for something nearby for lunch. This place is right across the street from the beach at the intersection of A1A and Atlantic Boulevard. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so I chose an outside table. The menu offers both plenty of breakfast and lunch items. Although they had about six good sounding salads, I went with one my standbys, the Cobb salad. I am so glad I did because it was delicious. Luna Rosa is a restaurant I go to often as its AIA location is close to my house but I think I'm done. First impressions count: There is often an elderly male host and while he lacks social skills his female counterpart - an elderly lady with long hair is just as unwelcoming and unprofessional. We didn't have a reservation and she got a little huffy but managed to find us a table in the near empty dining room. I understand that an empty restaurant might become full with reservations however the restaurant remained half empty for the duration of our dining with closing hour coming soon. I've always sat in a front table and though the view is compromised by being situated on the west side of A1A there is a somewhat beach feel. Well almost. This is the first time I sat in back and I realized a few things: The tables are uncomfortably close and despite not being busy it was noisy also the restaurant is gloomy, dark and in need of a renovation. But the food was as sorry as the decor. Pastas were overcooked, chicken was dry, sauces were watery and a pesto sauce didn't seem to have fresh basil. Appetizers were disappointing and desserts were heavy and cloying. On a positive note, the bread is fine and the bussers are friendly. This is really a tourist restaurant and for those who live west of 95 and are looking for a glimpse of the ocean. read more

Great location, terrible experience. We arrived on time for our 7 pm reservation on a Thursday evening recently, and the hostess offered us our table for two outside and it was a very tight space right next to their temporary wall they put up at night, so I asked for something inside. We did get offered water, sparkling or regular by a staff member, and then another staffer came by to give us place settings (which should have been there in the first place.) From there it went downhill, fast. We waited and waited for a waiter or waitress to come by to greet us, tell us about the specials, ask if we wanted a drink. The restaurant was busy, with almost every table full, but not completely full. After quite a while, the waiter came over to us for the first time, looked at us and said "do you know what you want?" He looked like he was miserable, and annoyed. We were perplexed by this, but gave our order anyway which was a pollo scarpariello and the catch of the day done in their style, lightly breaded with flour and egg, with lemon sauce. We weren't drinking so we had our bottle of Pellegrino. We got warm bread and some very nice olive oil with garlic that was good. The food came, and the fish was mediocre, fresh but bland, served with a vegetable and rice, which arrived hot. Mine, however, was very disappointing. The potatoes were barely warm, the sausage was the same. The one piece of chicken breast was hot, but the portion was tiny. I think the chicken was maybe five ounces. The sauce was overly salted and gummy. Two sad little pepperoncini right out the jar were placed around the plate for effect. Our miserable waiter never came by to see how our food was. We waited to see if he would come by to see if we wanted dessert or offer the check. Neither happened. My husband went to the hostess because he didn't see our waiter and asked for her to find him to get our check. She didn't find him and we waited a little bit more, and then he came by to the table near us, not to us, and I got his attention and asked for the check. If he had come by to ask about our food I would have told him I was not happy with the dish. He never came and we only saw him once when he asked us if we knew what we wanted. We decided never to come back and on the way out my husband spoke to the hostess to tell her about our experience and she responded with "that's too bad, our chef does a great job." I hear they have a good brunch. Maybe that's how they stay in business. Horrible experience and waste of our hard earned money. read more

Tonight was the perfect date night for my wife and I, why?? On a Monday it's less crowded, and with a reservation a 5:30 pm, the restaurant was ours! The food was amazing, they gave us a complementary aglio in olio, then we shared a piatto di antipasto. As an entree my wife ordered the crab cakes and I had the linguine con le vongole. What I particularly enjoyed, is that the pasta was al dente like I like it! Perfection!! For dessert, we shared a chocolate ganache, delicious! One of the very few beach front restaurants in South Florida that's actually good! Right off Atlantic Ave and sitting directly on Ocean Blvd. Paid parking is the only option available. The restaurant does offer Valet and the cost varies on time and day. There are some new lots on Atlantic Ave and it's just a short walk. Not quite sure I'd call it beach front since outside seating is directly facing traffic on Ocean Blvd but this area has no direct beach front dining. If you stand on your chair and look past the gazebo you can see the sand. The Italian food here is very good. Nice menu, good quality and fair pricing. Not touristy. I complained about him before and the manager did nothing about him. He up charges and doesn't tell yiu this time he split the bill after I gave him a 60 dollar gift card and charged my card twice with two diffent amounts to confuse us. I told the mamger he is playing games with the billing. But he stuck up for him. I have been in the restaurant industry for 40 years and tried to tell him what he was doing. I fired server for doing some of these things at my restaurants that I managed. We had the manager sit down with us to explain what he did. Then I told what he did.
