Loved the atmosphere and the art and lighting. Was very productive here and got lots of reading done. The hot chocolate was good but I wish it had a richer chocolate taste, the art was cute though! I love the coffee at Caffé Vita. Lattes made from Vita beans have always been consistently good. With equal credit going to the baristas and the actual coffee beans. This Caffé Vita is located on Capitol Hill. I consider this to be the flagship location in Seattle since a coffee roastery is located on the premises in back of the coffee shop. You can see the roasting being done through the windows. This location has two floors of seating, though I have not gone upstairs. There are also a few tables outside if you prefer street side seating. Interior on the first floor is pretty dark and tavernesque. And yes, free Wi-Fi is offered here. No password needed fortunately. Ordered a medium latte ($3.75) and it was just as expected. Bold tasting with frothy steamed milk at the top. The ambiance inside the coffee shop is alright. Though I did feel a bit out of place as this is quite the hipster coffee shop with a big city vibe going for it. I am not sure this is the greatest spot to visit when it is warm out. I stopped in on a 80 degree day and it was quite warm inside the coffee shop. It did not seem like there were any fans or AC to cool the room. The coffee is good at Vita. If I was in this part of the Capitol Hill neighborhood I would come here for that reason. Though from an ambiance standpoint, I think the Starbucks on Olive Way and the Stumptown on Pine are better in this aspect. read more

I ordered a veggie pasty and I finally had to go up and ask for it. Turns out she had forgotten it in the heater. It wasn't really my thing anyway. Cappuccino: meh. The milk was not well steamed. Lots of warm milk like a latte on the bottom and a lot of dry foam on top. Space/seating: excellent. Outdoor patio, bike racks (limited space), lots of tables to sit at. Open later than most cafes here. If I was trying to get the best coffee in cap hill there are plenty of spots for that. I come here for the space. RE: space. The one critique I would offer right now would be that they use one speaker in the corner rather than several throughout the cafe and that one speaker is a little bit /too/ bumpin. Their drip coffee is some of the worst in the city. It's acidic and often stale. The expresso is solid but does not have the soft subtlety of say Vivace. Prices, even for Cap Hill, are high. Service is hit or miss. You can do better on the Hill for caffeine. At this point it's more of a brand than a legit good place for coffee. read more

It always amazes me that even though they are smack dab in the middle of Capitol Hill, there is always seating room here, even on weekend afternoons. I really like the atmosphere of this caffe vita. It's not too quiet and empty, but also not bustling or loud. The drinks are always made how I order them and have the cute heart design or leaf design. read more

This is my new go-to coffee place. Proximity and also very good drinks. I really like the Lattes. All of the specialty drinks are slightly more bitter (less sweet) than most other coffee places I know. I've only tried a handful of the drinks, but I think they're good. One of the few times I have a sweet tooth is when it comes to coffee beverages. But I'd say there is a bitterness to the beans. Then again, I'm no connoisseur so sue me. The inside space feels a little cramped downstairs. There's also an upstairs and if you're lucky to get the coveted window seats then you've got it made. Against the wall isn't terrible either, but it feels sort of charmless up there and of course because it's the second floor, it's a little hot (especially during summer!) But the seating outside is also very cool. Work won't get done, and people watching will occur, but it's nice on the busy street. People there are friendly and hip. Surprise! read more

Central location on Cap Hill (by the streetcar station), opens later than other coffee shops in the area, lots of outlets for charging phones and laptops, and solid dirty chai lattes. What more can you ask for? Baristas are friendly and yes, Caffe Vita is a little hipster but I'm not sure what you expect for a coffee spot on Capitol Hill. I've heard good things about Caffe Vita's Cold Brew so try that instead of the dirty chai latte if you want a chilled beverage! read more

Terrible latte and terrible service. I ordered the seasonal lavender latte and it just tasted off. It wasn't smooth and light like I was expecting, and I binned it after a couple of sips. I also asked the barista when they would be rotating out the seasonal drinks and she replied with a scoff "um, next season". I followed up asking when that would be and the reply was "like, summer probably. It's just seasons - fall, winter, spring, summer". Considering the latte was awful, the employee was quite rude, and I still don't know when new drinks will be out, I definitely won't be coming back. read more

Listen. The girl who took our order was probably one of the most downright rude humans to walk this Earth. First, we waited in line for what seemed like an eternity...I mean. You have 28 people working and I need coffee, so I'll wait. Second, when I got up to order...I tell her that I'd like a cold brew with a splash of cream. She said, hemp? I said...cream. From that point forward, I received the worst service I have ever had at ANY coffee/restaurant establishment. She literally stormed and slammed the cup down to put the ice in the cup and said 'cream is on the counter.' My assumption is she's probably vegan and was pissed I ordered cream? I mean. Why else can a human be SO freaking downright rude. OH. My husband wanted coffee too, but the minute she threw that little fit...we decided to NOT support this business a second longer. Looking back, I should have walked out the minute she had her little meltdown. SO. Moral of story. Spend your $ elsewhere. This place doesn't deserve ANYONE'S service. read more
