The crowd of people waiting in line is a HUGE sign to anyone passing by that this place is a must try for anyone that loves breakfast like me. We went there recently for mothers day which actually fell on my birthday this year. So much food, everyone loved their dishes. Service is always on point. No worries of your coffee running out and wondering where your waitress is to refill it it's busy in there but the staff are all moving and ready to Service. When we sat down my friends mom wanted whatever that kid was eating and told the waiter I want THAT. Lol. She said when the kids food arrived and he took his first bite he had the biggest on his face. I'm sure he did with those luscious sweet berries and whipped cream on top whatever he was gobbling down. A bit of a drive from where I live but I've been here twice now and I like the food that I have ordered so far. Like most (new) breakfast place that I go to, I always go for their country fried steak if they offer it from their menu because it's my hearty go to breakfast. This place had them and it didn't disappoint. I love that their country gravy was creamy and peppery which is how I like it. Their country fried steak was thick and juicy with the right amount of batter that you get meat in every slice. I get a side of hash brown, eggs over easy and wheat toast, This meal is hearty and it satiate my appetite that lunch (and sometimes even dinner) is always a skip. They also have good selection of omelettes which I also love. I tried their Santa Fe Omelette which came to my table looking like a scrambled egg. I expected fluffy egg folded over the bacon, veggies and cheese that it came with, but instead I got a browned scrambled egg. This place can be busy but manageable wait time. They always provide great and friendly service which is always a plus for me. I took my mother to brunch for a late breakfast. As soon as we as sat down we were waited on. Our waiter, Luis, took our order and within minutes (literally) came back with our food, which never disappoints. The service is always exceptional and "on point" and the staff is always friendly and quick to make sure you are well taken care of. I highly recommend dining at Cahoots. This has got to be one of the best places i have been to in awhile. Great service, im talking great GREAT. Im here on a Thursday morning and it takes me back traveling around with my Dad through these parts back in the 80s. Really friendly, im talking handshakes an first name basis for the regulars. The timing on my plate of food was lightning fast too. The place closes at 2pm FYI. I cant even name everyone here obviously im traveling through here but seriously all 6 people who checked in on me were happy, sincere and just great people. Really happy to support this place instead of a chain restaurant. Oakdale is lucky to have a place like this. After today's visit to cahoots, after a long break from this business, I would like to update my review and give them the well deserved 5 stars. We walked in, on Friday morning, we were greeted right away. Sat down, got drinks right away (their seasonal hot chocolate is amazing!), my husband got the chicken fried steak and I got the chilaquiles and both were delicious. We overstuffed ourselves, to be honest ! Our server Luis, was OVER AND BEYOND and the overall reason I wanted to update my previous review . Very good bacon! This would be the place to get fancy iced coffee with whip cream, yum! I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which in my opinion didn't have much flavor and the biscuit was good but so large that it was overwhelming with the taste of the bread over the gravy. It's definitely a meal in itself too, so order with caution if you aren't a big eater! It is an up charge, so you can get something like toast if you're a smaller appetite. I really enjoyed the customer service and the gentleman who seemingly ran the place had a very good attitude and brought a lot of positivity to the place. Went there on Friday for brunch, around 11:20 there were 5 of us. 3 people order breakfast, they were all good. Two of us ordered salads with crispy chicken you could tell the chicken wasn't made fresh and looked a little older. The two of us that had the chicken salads both got food poisoning. Oakdale, CA-I think cahoots is Oakdale's most crowded breakfast place. though the rush, I absolutely love their pancakes! Never too messy, though the seats feel never cleaned of crumbs. The tables are a bit sticking too. I think Cahoots should think about upgrading to a bigger location. read more

If I started a restaurant, I'd want to learn from these guys! This place is always jamming! Hella people feel the same way we do! We'll keep coming back again and again! Just a note, if you order chicken and waffles, it's bone in and you do not get the above items on the menu without a fee! The Earl paid extra for hash browns and eggs. He could not eat the extras. We have lived in Oakdale for a few years but, for whatever reason, didn't visit this charming breakfast place right away. We finally did and we are very glad! I ordered an omelette and asked for extra crispy hash browns. For some reason, no one believes I want them extra crispy so I'm often disappointed. Well, NOT at Cahoots! They were absolutely perfect as was the omelette. My husband had the traditional two eggs over medium, sausage and hash browns. The service is great and they kept our coffee cups filled. This is the absolute best breakfast place ever, better than Denny's, IHOP, or any other breakfast joint. We had a party of 10, we waited about 35 minutes to be seated, however it was well worth the wait. I got the two breakfast burritos, they were absolutely massive, I only finished one the salsa was okay. The french toast were to die for, they where so delicious and amazing! Coffee was also good, but seriously the serving size was a lot of food, and the absolute best part of everything was the service! We all got our food with in 15 minutes of ordering, everyone was attentive and welcoming. We will be returning to this place soon! read more
