I found myself back at Cains for two more tires...damn screws! Debbie helped me out on this day and she made the whole situation super easy!! I was in & out of there super quick! They even put the little donut spare back in the compartment - the places I've gone to previously would have just thrown it back in the car! I live in the East Bay and there are definitely tire places a lot closer to home but none of them have the customer service skills of the Cains staff. I brought my car in and when I picked it up, there was a dent in the door. They checked cameras, and they couldn't tell one way or the other but the person that hit the door knew. It's best to video your car before you leave it with them. read more

Very disappointing that Cain's Tire, where I have depended on getting nails out of my tires for years, is now looking like it gouges customers. I took my car in to get a tire plugged as I had picked up a nail somewhere. As I sat and waited, one after the other, each person waiting was told "bad news" that they needed new tires. I was therefor not surprised when the guy returned to tell me "bad news" that my tire could not be fixed and that I needed a new tire altogether. I had seen the nail and knew where it was and that it was in a place that could be plugged. so I left Cain's, went down the road and they fixed my tire for $25. Had I believed the Cain's people, I would have been paying a couple hundred! read more

My usual tire place was closed for a few days during the holidays, and I needed new all-season radials. My good friend recommended this place. Sure enough, they were able to find a very nice set on Michelin tires in my size. These tires are hard to find, but they found them and had them within 2 days. The install went okay. The front office guys were nice, I spoke with the owner and he was really nice, and I said I would see him at 2:30 as agreed. When I showed up he was nowhere to be found... The pricing was high, but reasonable for the quality of rubber. My issue was my car was covered in marks. My car had just been washed and polished, and it came back so covered in marks I could not believe it. Given this is in Marin, I expect better service, and attention. There was no reason for there to be covered in marks other than careless employees. See pics for proof... I went to get it washed again after the install. I was/am very disappointed. I will probably not return there unless I have no other choice. read more

They were a breath of fresh air! They finished exactly when they said they would at a price that was very competitive.

I was charged $700 for them to break my car... my car had no codes and no check engine light prior to me bringing my 2007 BMW 328i n51 into the shop. They told me it was going to take 2 hours for the job. I left my car there at 11:50 am and went to get food nearby at tam commons. I come back at 2 pm and they haven't even started working on my car... the salesperson helping me who goes by name of "Brian" told me they moved my car twice. So to start it off i parked infront of the shop on the side of the road at a parking meter. My car was not blocking traffic and technically was not even on the property yet. So why would they need to move my car TWICE when it wasn't even worked on until i came back at 2 pm and had to wait till 3 pm for them to finish replacing my 4 tires. I watched the whole process of them changing my tires because i was sitting inside of my car as they were doing it... Once they finished i payed them and went to go turn on my car to leave. When i started my car the RPM was going up and down having the worst idle i have ever heard and felt. I work on my car and take really good care of it and no it was not acting like this before i arrived. I took out my OBD2 scanner and scanned for codes because the check engine light was on my dash and im positive it was not there before i arrived... i got a code for cylinder 6 mis firing. I asked the workers who drove my car and they started asking around and told me it was a worker named "Brian". I spoke to Brian when it should've been a Manager that i was speaking to. He was telling me excuses or "possible" reasons why it was sounding and acting the way it was when, right before he brought up the excuses he was telling me my car sounded perfectly normal when obviously it was spazzing... "Brian" then started to rush me to leave the shop saying im taking up space and that customers need to be parked where i was... I just find it bizarre that they moved my car TWICE and that they didn't start working on it until after i came back at 2pm from eating... Why would you need to move my car and not even work on it right after you move it? Does that make sense? The only appreciation i have is for the lady with the grey hair and glasses that gave me my estimate for the tires... she was very sweet and awesome. So to sum up my experience here, it took 3 hours for them to change my tires and i came back to a check engine light and codes. read more

I'll never go anywhere else for a tire! Thank you Cain's and specifically Angel for excellent service and quality care. I had not one but TWO flat tires this week. During the first repair it was revealed that my break pads were almost at 0% and Angel answered every question, made sure I knew about Cain's annex store where I could get them replaced, and made it clear that my safety was the number one priority. When I came back for my next tire, I was helped by Angel again. Not only was he extremely articulate and professional, but empathetic as well. He went out of his way to find me an affordable option, knowing I was in a tough spot. I was blown away - it's extremely rare to find a business that operates with such honesty and integrity especially in the automotive industry. Angel could have easily done the bare minimum and gone on with his day, but it's clear from these other reviews that going above and beyond is a consistent trait of his. I can't tell you how valuable that is in today's society. I've been to Cain's before, but these two experiences really made an impression. They even put a little duct tape over a crack on my back bumper, which I didn't notice until a day or so later. Thank you Angel and Cain's staff for going out of your way to make the best impression! Due to Supply chain issues caused by the Biden Admin, I was unable to get the tires I wanted. I tried from several shops, but the tires were on a National back order. Cain's wasn't able to get them either but they helped me get the tires I ended up with and I'm really happy with them. I ordered the tires on a Monday and they were installed on Wednesday. I actually have a friend that owns a tire shop and they beat that price from start to finish. I was very impressed with the team. As I could feel the pressure in the tire going down, I got off the freeway and headed for downtown SR. I was so lucky that Cains tire was open, and taking drop-ins. As I pulled into the busy shop, I explained to them that I had a flight to make in a few hours in SJ and needed help asap. Bryant, who checked me in, got me me in quickly and assured me it wouldn't be long. The hard-working mechanics had me checked out (a hole in my tire!), patched, filled, and realigned in under two hours! I had been toying with the idea of getting proper snow tires for our 2019 VW Tiguan AWD. Since we would only need them a few months of the year, it would involve a) storing "dry" tires and b) mounting and dis-mounting twice a year. Not something I was looking forward to. Walking down 4th street I saw the ad in Cain's Tires window stating they would beat Costco prices. So, on a whim I stopped in and am I glad I did. Debby (Debi?) was extemely helpful and knowledgable. She told me about the Michelin Crossclimate tire which, while rated for snow, can be driven all year in all conditions. I did some online research and was sold! How cool! Debby was super friendly, (as were all the staff) and made sure I was aware of a promotional rebate as well. The tires were mounted and done as promised, on time with no surprises. Oh, and the claim in the window stating they will beat Costco prices? Yep, by $4 a tire in my case. So go local and support local business. So rotations and air pressure check-ins are common. I hit a pot hole last night, resulting in a popped tire. I got my spare on. Came to Cains this morning. Jason Kalemba is AMAZING. You'd think he owned the shop by the way he runs it. I had a low tire. Simple fix if I knew how to blow up a tire by myself. Women often fret over such issues. We stress over things like flat tires when we don't know how to fix them and we sometimes worry about a man (in a tire shop) taking advantage of a woman who doesn't really know what she's doing. From now on Cains will be my go-to for tires and brakes. I love how they still do everything old school on paper. I recently had all of my brake pads and rotors replaced at their brake annex, as well as two tires at their 4th street location. Competitive prices and very friendly, accommodating staff! If I could, I'd take away half a star because they recommended I only replace two of my tires- which I did. I later learned that having mismatched tires strains the differentials and can cause serious damage to the transmission, especially on an AWD vehicle like mine. They should know that! Everyone at Cains is pretty great, but Rooney is a rock star. I have never had such a quick, seamless fix to a car problem in my life. I had somewhat of a complicated situation, and Rooney handled it with extreme professionalism. Her customer service really went above and beyond, and because of that, I will be recommending Cains to everyone I know! Over the weekend, I got a flat tire. I had an extended warranty that was going to replace the one tire that needed replacement. Unfortunately, because I have an all wheel drive vehicle, I needed to get four new tires. The tire I currently had on my car was a factory stock (clearance) tire that is not easily accessible (I called five other tire shops), but Cains said they could have it there next day. After some discussion, I wanted a better set of tires that would be easily accessible if I ever had to replace them again, and Cains had the best deal around on some high quality tires (and they were in stock!). *Note: If you want Michelin tires, they have to order them, but if you place the order by 10:30am, they can get them the same day! I must have called Rooney 5 or 6 times with questions before finally agreed to get the tires and the service done. She was so incredibly patient and helpful, and on top of that, she had to deal with my tire warranty company once I brought the car in. Cains was very busy when I got there, and Rooney really took the time to make sure my claim was approved and the work got done quickly! I was in-and-out in a beyond reasonable amount of time. Also, when I checked out, Brett told me they gave a quick check to my brakes and noted that everything looked good. I am so impressed overall with the customer service and the quality of work. Price of tires and speediness of service is great, no issues there. I'm rating two stars because it didn't seem they are handling covid seriously. There are signs posted about masks required for service, and yet it's optional for the employees to wear inside the office. I saw three guys walking around with out their masks on, they entered unmasked and maybe slipped the mask on slowly, maybe they didn't if they had to exit to the garage. One of the guys, was moving cars around with out a mask on in customers cars - completely outrageous! read more

I originally went to Cains tires about 5 years ago. I didn't have any work done, but often recommended them because of the great customer service I received. Fast forward to the present. I got a nail in my tire that produced a slow leek when parked. (?) Since I was in San Francisco, I went to what was convenient, by location only. Tesla: Said I would have to replace the tire, surprise surprise, but I will have to leave it all day, maybe until tomorrow. Wheel Works said we should get you out of herein 5 hours. Otherwise, make an appointment for 7am and we can get you out within 2-3 hours. At this point I decided to call the place I recommend to others instead of going for location convenience. Wheel works said come in we can get you out within an hr to hour and a half. I said I'm on my way. When I arrived, their customer service was still amazing, they were able to fix the tire and in less than an hour I was on my way to work a few blocks away. They seemed just as busy as the other places, but they way they moved the cars around and communicated with each others was like musical harmony.
