The view was lovely and it was so enjoyable to dine outside with no attention on distractions! I would recommend this place to others in Sacramento and those visiting. The only challenge was driving in to the restraint's parking lot, the entrance to the back where the restraint could be made more accessible with better signage. Lovely visit, looking forward to the next one!

The patio area is a large space that can accommodate special events and many individual parties for everyday dining. The lunch menu had quite a variety to choose from. My granddaughter and grandson ordered cheeseburgers, my daughter ordered a French dip sandwich with fries, and I ordered shrimp skewers with mashed potatoes and spinach, which is no longer on the menu, but it's my favorite, and it was delicious. Of course, we started with their great sour dough bread and butter! Our server was very nice, and let my granddaughter choose a dessert off the dessert menu for her birthday treat. She chose the creme brûlée. What a treat. There's plenty of parking too, but some prefer the valet parking that's always available. I love dining at Scott's on the River

I had the Ensenada fisherman's stew - loaded with items from the sea (scallops, prawns, shrimp, mussels, clams, and other goodies. The tomato based broth was exceptional. I asked if she thought we would be able to receive our food in enough time to eat it in about an hour. She pointed out a couple of dishes that would take some time to prepare and said the rest would come out quickly. She checked a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed as she wanted us to be able to finish our lunch in enough time. Now the food: Avocato Smash (guacamole) served with tortilla chips was so fresh and fantastic! The clam chowder was delicious as was the large portions of Caesar salad and Farmers Market salad. The Farmers Market salad was so flavorful that I didn't need any salad dressing. Crushed pistachios surrounded the edge of the plate. I couldn't really taste it, but not a problem. The guava mocktails were light on the flavor, but still refreshing after a long walk outside. I'm so happy we stopped by. Maddie, you're a gem!
