She did try to upsell due to the fact that I was drooling and already indecisive over what I saw. I choose the raspberry cheesecake muffin and the mini cheesecake mud pie. The muffin was really good. I was a bit disappointed that the Cheesecake was only on that little portion of the muffin top instead of also within the muffin, it was chocolate oh & moist. The muffin was huge and cost $3.95. The mini cheesecake cost $4.95. It was rich in chocolate. Now this was perfection; it hit the spot. If ever I come through this terminal again, I'd definitely come back. The cookie icing was on point, but cookie was more like a cake. Best black and white cookies are closer to a shortbread consistency with a little bit of crunch to a cookie. I think cake tin already had everything that I could think of - cute decoration (with adorable plates hanging on the wall), lovely cupcakes (though I haven't got the chance to try them out) coming in all sizes, warm service from the cashier (she picked the best apple for me!). A cute little store in the Delta Terminal. I love this place! Unfortunately, when I went on a recent trip they were out of the mini cupcakes. But, that just meant more deliciousness with the regular sized cupcakes. I got the chocolate peanut butter and red velvet. Both were decadent and scrumptious. My mom and I scarfed them down so fast! Decent bake shop in the airport. It's a small little shop near gate 35 in terminal 4 - Delta. I find it to be reasonably priced for airport dessert fare. $4 for a very large cupcake or for the muffins. I got a blueberry muffin and it was soft and not super sweet. They have coffee, waters, teas, and other drinks. Their display is definitely enticing! Nice sweet and light snack to grab and take on the plane. I really enjoyed it on my evening flight back home with that watered down cup of coffee they offered on the plane. read more

The lady behind the counter could not bring herself to make eye contact or say or do anything nice the whole time I interacted with her. But the food wasn't terrible in my opinion. A delightful looking shop on the outside, bitter on the inside as far as customer service. The women that worked there were beyond rude. They almost seemed hostile. When I asked what tea they served, the girl said "on the wall" without even looking at me and pointed to the tea menu. I stepped slightly to the left and before I could finish my order with her she says "Can I help you?" Talking to the people behind me. So I stood where I was, not to intrude on the couple who just walked up and had no idea I was in the middle of ordering. I pulled out the cash to pay and the other girl getting the tea yells at me, "You gotta pay over there". Pointing to the cash register I had just been standing at. So I stepped over to get back in line. But honestly, the chaos of the line, wasn't that big of a deal to me. It was how shitty they were during the entire process. After I got my tea, I met my husband to sit down. I asked if he noticed what had happened. He said they were rude, not helpful and I shouldn't have ordered anything from them. Which is funny because I almost did just walk away and leave the tea. Then as we are sitting there some girl walks in. They all start joking around with each other real friendly. As the girl goes to leave she starts randomly yelling "Who left this here!", in a demanding tone. I ignored the first several times but then the 3rd time looked over to see what she was talking about. A customer had left behind a tea cup and a couple napkins. The girl starts yelling, "Customer's need to clean up their own shit, these aren't your maids." (or something to that effect). At that point we decided to leave since we did not feel welcome. Meh cupcakes. Good service. I'm a cupcake junkie and love a good buttercream. I had the funfetti cupcake with vanilla buttercream and buttercup cupcake with either caramel or brown sugar buttercream. The bread of the cake was slightly dry to the touch, but decently moist when I tasted it. My issue was with the buttercreams. They weren't the hearty, slightly thick buttercream I prefer. They tasted almost like whipped cream, which I'm not a fan of. I was craving a sugar fix and this did it, but be forewarned that this isn't the rich buttercream some may prefer. The cinnamon frosted pastry I tried was dry and inedible on the edges. Cupcakes appeared the same. Finally, and granted I'm picky, but it was apparent the clerks espresso training was nil. She doused my cappuccino with milk and swirled it around after pouring, mixing the milk, foam and espresso, meaning she eliminated a key element of any milk+espresso drink, let alone a drier cappuccino. Cake Tin is a cute, upscale cafe with adorable decor. There are tons of desserts as well as coffee and specialty coffee selections. Prices are NYC standards. Didn't grab any treats while we were here, but did get some specialty coffee that was pretty good. The line was surprisingly shorter than the cafe across the way.
