Update: Now I know the facts and it's not as bad as I thought. Fact #1: This company was hired to do a termite inspection by the seller's agent. Fact #2: I was given (in the escrow documents) a clearance that said "no termites" and when I asked to see the report I read that dry rot was found in the spots shown on the pictures. Fact #3: This company's owner didn't like my review and came to see the house. At first he said repairs were done on a different door which wasn't true. There is a diagram of the house on the report he handed me so we looked at the correct door. Then he said what looks like dry rot is not dry rot. That contradicted the findings in his report. But he agreed to send someone to fix it. Fact #4: This company had been paid for repairs at closing. Not paid to sell a clearance (my mistake, I didn't know then what I know now) but regardless, paid for repairs that weren't done before the house sold. I'll never know why, and I am not making assumptions, only writing objective undeniable facts. Fact #5: An employee came yesterday and replaced some wood and applied one coat of paint unevenly. He was nice and polite though, if the review was for him alone he would get more stars. Fact #6: I am sick and tired of this but the owner won't stop texting me because he is still mad about the original review. So I'm writing an update and blocking him to move on with my life. Cal Oaks Termite came to our house for a termite inspection for a refi. The inspector was on time and very nice. It was also pretty quick. My only concern (and the reason for the 3 stars) is that the inspector was commenting on areas of the house that didn't have anything to do with termites or termite damage. He was showing me a 1" spot on the outside that he said was painted over but rotten wood and that he suspected mold on some wood in the attic that HE COULDNT SEE....Huh?? Then told me that if we were going to sell the house instead of refi he would not have passed us. HUH??? neither of these issue having anything to do with termites, plus we just had the house appraised the day before and he had NO issues. Kind of pissed me off. So if you want the sell your home I would advise not using this company for your termite inspection cuz you just might not pass. read more

I found termite droppings in my house, I called several termite companies to come out and inspect my home and give me a quote of the cost to treat the affected area. I really didn't want to deal with a big company because I feared they would be expensive, their quotes proved it. My house is only 12 years old, I couldn't believe I had termites and the termites were in one spot (that we could see for now) Cal Oaks was the last company to come out and inspect my house Adam came out and was early to the appointment which worked for my schedule. He was honest and courteous, other companies wanted to tent right away, he explained that we could just treat the affected area and keep an eye on it, no need to tent the house. That just gave us piece of mind, then he told us the cost to treat the area and it was half the price of other companies that we dealt with. Later that day Adam called me and told me that a represenative from his company could be there the following morning to treat the area. Chuck and Ben showed up in morning to spray, they took their time and explained everything thoroughly. They were both very professional, friendly and most important honest. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL...We were warned about the possibility of robbery by the vendor who knew 4 of their clients that got robbed. We live in a very hard to find, dead end street where people always get lost and off the beaten path. The day we got tented, we were cased that evening by a car full of guys. One guy in the back of the vehicle pointing a flashlight on our property. Hmmmm, very suspicious. Just happened to be on our hard to find street the same night? Luckily we set up many cameras, signs and security lights and was nearby. It's the tenting company Cal Oaks contracts that I don't trust. Not only did they leave a mess, but also broke pots. I contacted Cal Oaks and not one response. You'd think they would call us back but NOTHING. Also keep an eye on who they contract for facia board and window repairs before tenting. They forgot to repair obvious rotting wood and almost left it half done. I called to discuss something important with the receptionist and was cut off twice mid sentence. read more

So this company was sent out by the realtor for the people trying to buy our house. I was out of the house during the inspection, but when I got home boy was I pissed off!!! Their inspector made pretty big holes all over our sun room, birds nest, and poles holding up our front patio cover. Plus left wood chips all over, and I have three dogs that have now eaten some of them! Plus left my front gate open. I'm by no means denying that we have dry rot in some areas, but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to destroy parts of my house to do an inspection!!! So now if the sale doesn't go through, I'm left with holes I have to repair due to this company. Don't use these people for a termite inspection ever!!! read more

I was referred to Cal Oaks by our regular exterminator after finding some insect wings in our garage on some pieces of lumber. After sending them a picture, they were pretty certain they were not termite related, but they still agreed to send someone over to give me some peace of mind. An update to my experience with Cal Oaks Termite: I purchased the $300 roof insurance as I was worried about damage to my tile roof. They didn't find any damage and refunded the $300. My roofer came by for general maintenance and confirmed that they left the roof in good shape. He was impressed that they didn't damage the roof as most companies "trash roofs" and the fact that my insurance was refunded was a bonus. Thank you Cal Oaks! read more
