Baingan bharta, aloo gobi, vegetarian samosas, and basmati rice (large)
    Rebecca T.

4-1/2 stars (bump up for lovely service) Ordered online and went to pick it up; it still took an extra 5 minutes for the chef to finish up my order, but the server was really kind in offering me a drink while I waited. Food was soon ready, and I took it home. The verdict: -- Vegetarian samosas (4/5): tasty and freshly-fried, but could use more filling inside -- Aloo gobi (5/5): got it medium-spicy, and it was pretty solid! Generous chunks of potato and cauliflower inside -- Baingan bharta (4.5/5): tender eggplant stewed with spices. Got it medium as well, but it was more mild in flavor -- Garlic naan (5/5): fragrant and chewy. Nothing bad to say! -- Roti (4/5): a bit more wheat-y than expected, but not bad Cali Saga is a promising new Indian restaurant close by; I'd be happy to try more from them!

Service was awesome, everyone who helped us was extremely helpful. Food is so tastey and delicious. My fave was the chai and the garlic naan. Def recommend getting the chai, one of the best I've ever had. Inside is clean and nice and bright from all of the windows. Super cute place. Will be coming back!

Delicious! Service was so good, and the food felt lighter since it was vegan/vegetarian! Would definitely come back

FANTASTIC dinner spot that just opened near downtown Culver City. The portions are bigger than we expected and the service was amazing! It is a candle lit restaurant and it was so cozy in there. We ordered the crispy spinach and coconut chicken rice bowl with a mango juice on the side. Downtown culver was missing a good spot with a lot of vegetarian options and a handful of meat options. Will definitely be back!! Parking was not bad at all there is a little parking lot that was not busy and street parking on Venice and in neighborhood. There is some outdoor seating.

NOTE: This place has recently changed to a vegan/vegetarian Indian format so disregard the fusion menu that's on Yelp With that being said, we enjoyed our dinner here! Service was quick and attentive. The food was delicious and they were able to quickly bring out everything at the same time. Plenty of seating inside and the renovations look good with a clean, modern feel. We sat outside, where there's also plenty of space. They were very accommodating and offered to bring water for our dog without us even mentioning it. We ordered the Gobi Manchurian, Saag Paneer, Aloo Gobi, and Cheese Paneer Kulcha, all of which were well-prepared and presented with a modern twist. Overall, we had a great experience here and hope this place sticks around!

Lamb rice bowl with coco masala sauce. Good portion. Good price. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Tried the lamb burger this week. If you like lamb it's very tasty. Raw red onion and arugula. I assume the sauce is tzatziki. I got some hot sauce on the side. Really set it off for me. Looking forward to trying more

Stopped in during their soft opening and this place already feels like a hidden gem in the neighborhood. They're currently still doing some decor updates inside, but can't wait to see what the place look likes once it's ready! I stopped by while doing my laundry next door because the food smelled SO GOOD. I couldn't decide what I wanted but ultimately tried the tomato butter chicken bowl and it was insanely flavorful... rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced without being heavy. Every bite had depth, and the freshness of the toppings balanced the sauce so well. The presentation alone makes you excited to dig in, but the flavor is really the hit here. The staff, Gori and Rajin, were warm and welcoming and genuinely excited to share their food. You can tell they care about what they're building here. If you live nearby, go support! We're lucky to have a spot like this pop up locally. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu.

He was very welcoming and friendly. He asked if I had an idea of what I wanted. I let him know I was looking for a bowl. He pointed out the two favorites. I decided on the chicken Tinga. I ordered a drink as well and another worker Edward suggested the Watermelon Margarita. They were both very upbeat and engaging and seemed to enjoy their job. Hector made the drink, it was soooo good When the food came out it was very disappointing. I received rice that had been scraped from the bottom of the pot. It was very hard and hurt my tooth as I bit in. I went back and showed Hector. He apologized and said that should never happen. He then went back himself and remade it. That bowl tasted so much better than the first time, It was delicious. It seems that good service is a little harder to come by now days. I appreciate both of these guys bringing a great attitude and providing amazing customer service. Star of the Show | Vegan Hot Spicy Chicken Sandwich | On my first visit, along with my best friend, we ordered & shared a number of items: taco, limited edition plant based spicy chicken bowl w/rice, sweet potato fries, and a cookie! The Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich stands above the rest, took full control the spotlight & still makes my mouth water, simply thinking of the flavors bursting from that crispy sandwich on that brioche bun! Yum!! Oops, I Did It Again | My best friend and I returned to only get Chicken Sandwiches... and a cookie for me! One night, I ordered myself a Chicken Sandwich, sweet potato fries, & a cookie via a delivery service for dinner! I most recently grabbed a Chicken Sandwich & a cookie to go, after having just had a late lunch with a friend, as part of her birthday celebration! That Chicken Sandwich is something special... the flavor of it all & seasoning keeps me coming back for more!! Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie | Yum! At first, I was hesitant, because I don't really like sprinkles as much! Let me let you know that the Vegan sprinkles on top of the yummy cookie are absolutely delicious! Sweet Potato Fries | Tasty & delicious alongside the Chicken Sandwich! I love, sweet potato fries! Seating & Parking | Inside & Outside Patio Seating! I've only experienced the outside patio seating with vibrant, yellow umbrella cover tables! Super cute! Parking is free and shared with other shops & restaurants! Sharing Is Caring | While attending an event/luncheon in Beverly Hills, I sat next to this really cool girl who lives in Culver City! In the midst of our fun & constant conversation and letting her know that I was Vegetarian/Pescatarian, she recommended Hey, Sunshine Kitchen! Thanks again! You are so right, I loved it! Also, while chatting with my Vegan Private Chef friend, told him about the sandwich, & he let me know that he enjoyed it the minute he tried it! Overall | Well, Hey Sunshine, you will definitely see me again! As you can see, the Chicken Sandwich had me a hello! Haha! I highly recommend! Let's go!

It's easily my new go-to. Pro tip: Since I was ordering delivery, I called the restaurant directly right after placing it to ask if they'd leave the patty on the grill just a touch longer than usual. They were so sweet about it and executed it flawlessly. Also, can we talk about the coleslaw? I usually steer clear of restaurant slaw because so many places drown it in heavy, uninviting mayo. But Sunshine absolutely delivered. Their dressing is beautifully light and slightly sweet--honestly, it makes an amazing burger topping. So many vegan spots rely way too heavily on processed, hyper-engineered faux meats and cheeses. This place strikes such a lovely, authentic balance. You can get a genuinely vibrant, healthy bowl, or dive into comfort food classics like their mean vegan chicken sandwich--and I hear the sweet potato fries are a fantastic side, too. To top it all off, the female owners are absolute gems. Even over the phone, they treat everyone with this effortless, warm hospitality that makes you feel like an old friend. It's just great energy all around. Check them out!

I'm taking off half a star only because the matcha came out much later and we were almost finished with our açaí bowl by the time it arrived, but it wasn't a big deal. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the music added to the vibe. Overall, I'd recommend this place and would happily come back.
