Wow. I mean I love pretty much all of the CRG concepts but this one is probably my favorite mix. Think Fresh Kitchen meets Daily Eats. Breakfast bowls meet health conscious (but they have more than breakfast too!) One thing I wanted to point out was the service. My friends and I were finished eating and just chatting when a staff member came over to bring us to-go boxes, without even asking for them- talk about always keeping an eye on your customers! Cali is a hip little joint located off of South Dale Mabry. With a full menu filled with gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, and meat dishes. There is literally something for everyone. We sat outside on an overcast day which was lovely because they have a nice patio that is also shaded by trees. It feels intimate and relaxing without having to look at a parking lot or the sun right in your face. They have a full menu which includes some tasty adult beverages. We enjoyed the white and red $5 sangrias. Can't go wrong with a $5 sangria. Everything we ordered tasted fresh. We started with chips and salsa and the garlic and lime edamame. Perfect snacks for the table and definitely got us excited for our bowls. I ordered the "Big Italy" which is a vegan bowl with roasted mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes, brown rice, a red pepper sauce and an almond ricotta that I could put on EVERYTHING. I added the fried lentil bites and I'm so glad I did. They truly made the dish. Made it so well I'm drooling while writing this review. They also sell these delicious cookies (chocolate chip and s'mores) that I devoured later along with my leftovers. Food: always good and filling. Portions are perfect with custom bowls being the signature here. I enjoy the lean and clean bowl. They have a variety of protein options and cater to special diets (vegetarian/ vegan/ gluten free). Their food is always nutritious and delicious. Can't be disappointed. I have also tried their latte which is good, avocado toast, several of their bowls, and some of their sides (edamame, avocado hummus) and all of them are tasty and reasonably priced. I will say, a side portion should be considered a side when ordering, it will not satiate you. Service: you order at the counter off a fixed menu. No surprises. Food is delivered to you, and waiters are attentive to you. They are all courteous. Ambience: I have been here for weekday dinner and Sunday lunch. Dinner it was a little less busy with mostly empty seats, however the music kept the place lively. On Sunday it was full of moms and their babies. I enjoy the clean decor and tables. The clean and (not bothersome) kitchen noises in the background, and the music give it a more casual vibe. Overall- will return frequently. We LOVE the brunch menu on Saturdays here! The food is always fresh, and there's plenty of it. The service is also quick, and they have live music on the weekends. I also really like the different housemade juices that you can have made into a mimosa if you prefer. My husband really likes their Bloody Mary, too! Not sure what happened to this place. The staff now is so rude and careless. I went a few months ago and was greeted right away by a super nice young lady who I haven't seen in a while, she sat us and even brought out our food. I come here often (my account is under a diff name) and now I feel every time I leave more disappointed. The food was okay but my server seemed to be more interested in whatever was happening in the back. I had read the reviews but not in depth as my folks did a hard pass on the The Boozy Pig. When we walked in, the music was much louder than I'd like and I knew it would be a problem for my parents. I could see my parents reading the menu with skepticism. You see, Cali does a little twist on each meal. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with a side of fruit. Yeap. Wow. Really good. I would definitely order again. My hubby got eggs with their most amazing granola French toast. I kept stealing bites. Poor hubby. My son got the same French toast and it disappeared. Unfortunately I can't eat gluten, and you did not have corn tortillas so we had to relocate to the Howard location. Our server, Sky, was so understanding and sweet given the fact that we took up one of her tables for chips and salsa/margaritas alone. I ordered a sandwich that was good, but having to wipe the remainders of it on my shorts was not good. Maybe new napkins or a napkin dispenser? My order was wrong and by the time it could've been fixed, I had finished the sandwich. When the problem was resolved, they brought me the worst bacon I've ever eaten. I ordered Uber Eats from CALI and was pleasantly surprised. I had the Asian salad with seared ahi tuna. The tuna was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The spring greens, carrots and red cabbage were fresh and crunchy, the udon noodles had a great bite to them and the Thai vinaigrette was incredible. Overall my salad was fresh and delicious. Although I like this place and order from here frequently during the week for a quick and healthy dinner--I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the service I had received 2 weeks ago. I had ordered 2 bowls and a cupcake and my boyfriend came to pick up the order...when he got home the cupcake wasn't there. Ok I get it sometimes things get forgotten....I called and told them my cupcake wasn't there and they asked for my name and said they'd refund me for my cupcake. 2 weeks later I still never got my refund (which was only like $2 or $3 dollars but it's the principle.) I got charged for something I did not receive, then told I'd be refunded and never was. That's really poor customer service and makes me not want to return. I'm extremely disappointed and upset.
