All of the initial examination at the time of drop off took around 45 mins. They would not provide you quote if you go there without appointment. Although you can ask your questions and understand the type of repair work. I tried getting estimate and got a very rough range from the person who was going to handle our car. Michael did a good job updating us keeping us aware of charges and work being done. We were told around 2 weeks of repair but got our car in 7 days. They also were able to use the OEM parts. Overall good job, good on communication and no hidden cost. They do provide warranty on their work and good thing is you can take your car to any other caliper collision in case if you need to get additional help after repair. read more

My car has been done for 2 weeks but caliber never sent the final paper work to my insurance.. never followed up with them or me or anything. Every time I called, Nick at caliber would say they're done and waiting on insurance to approve the final estimate.. I'm like ok I'll be patient.. then I go around calling both parties earlier this week BC I haven't had my car since NOVEMBER.. and turns out caliber never sent over anything to the insurance company.. seriously? So I'm just here waiting and I actually need my car and sadly they really don't care. I call this morning like please I need my car it's been MONTHS. Brandon was very apathetic to the whole thing. Went there to get my wheels fixed. After they installed wheels (which tool a really long time), the wheels were making loud scraping noises which could have easily been identified if they had done basic testing. They dont have calibration equipment, so they asked me to take the car to showroom to get that done. Staff is courteous, but work quality is not upto the mark. read more

10 years ago they repaired/repainted some parts of my car due to hail damage. Starting about 3 years ago, the areas that they repainted started peeling/flaking. It is so bad now. Called them because they offer a "lifetime warranty" on their (horrible) work. However, since they dont expect people to keep the cars long enough for it to matter, the warranty is "non-transferable". This car was a family car that was in my Mother's name. But when my Father could no longer drive, she put it in my name so it'd be under my insurance. They insist on not standing behind their work and dont care that it was only a family-transfer. The original factory paint areas are still fine. Dont fall for their warranty claims. They clearly dont know how to properly paint a vehicle. read more

AWFUL!!!! Our car was barely drive able. We called in advance. We were told we could bring our car in and they could help us. We drove our car in, at a speed of 10 mph. Once there, a very nasty man told us that he would not take our car, "PERIOD". Without looking at it, he said it was safe to drive. When we explained that we spoke with a person from their office who told us to bring it in, he said too bad, not taking it So, we called up Gerber, down the street from them. Gerber said, of course they'd take the car, bring it in. And, indeed they did take our car. We will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever go toCaliber again. read more

I am very satisfied with the service. I had to take my car in for a repair (someone hit my car). The shop was very professional and fast. I called and scheduled an appointment on the same day. They took care of everything and sent me txt messages with status update. Even though they were a day late due to dealership problems, I have to say they are very good at notifying me ahead of time. The shop also cleaned my car inside and out. It almost looked like they detailed it. The check-in and check-out process was very easy and fast. I only waited about 5 mins. Enterprise Rental was right next door which made the whole repair/rent-a-car process very easy. Overall the service and customer experience was very good. I had a great experience here especially compared to my experience at the same company, south Austin location a couple of years a go. I choose Caliber Collision, because of the familiarity from that previous experience, which was good and got the job done. I got an early 7:30 appointment and arrived promptly. I was greeted and had to wait about 15 minutes. Kevin helped me out and explained what the repair process would be. He had so done the estimate on my car previous weeks before I arrived. Geting an early estimate from my perspective made every thing smooth sailing when I dropped the car off. I went next door to Enterprise for my rental car and I was off about my business. I got updates throughout the day via text message which was nice and Kevin called me the second day to let me know my car would be available a day earlier. I was impressed by my car being ready earlier than expected and the updates while my car was getting repaired. Off of my experience I can recommend Caliber Collision. They were able to repair the rear bumper damage my car sustained from getting rear ended with exceptional quality that was good as new. read more

I had my Ram in there for collision damage. Check in was fast with no delays. They immediately put you on an update service which frequently updates you about the status. The completion date I was given in the beginning was reasonable, but as they were working they kept updating the date and it came out faster than planned. The repair was very good. When I came to pick up the car the colors didn't seem to match. They brought in an expert who showed that a polish had to be done. They did entire Ram polish at no charge (and didn't charge the insurance either) just to make me happy. The inside of the car looked like the day I received it (for the first time). At first I was a little concerned because I wasn't given a very accurate time frame on how long it would take, mainly because I was paying out of pocket for a rental car. I was afraid they would take their sweet time getting my car repaired. But I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. They didn't sit on it or take a long time to get it done. And best of all, I ended up paying less than what was originally quoted because of the way the parts acquisition occurred. It is so refreshing to see this kind of business not take advantage of consumers just because they can. I had hail damage from the hailstorm in March of 2009. I decided I would finally get my car fixed since it suffered severe hail damage to the roof and trunk of my car (2006 Honda Accord 4 door). My insurance company uses Caliber and they guarantee the service they do for the time that I own my car. So, I trusted the insurance company's judgment and took my car in to have an estimate. This Caliber was the closest to my house, so off I went to get an estimate and see what would need to be done to get my car looking like normal. Results of Estimate: $6,500 - replace the roof and trunk and paintless dent repair on all other parts. Sounds good to me, all I had to do was pay my deductible when I picked up my car. Time Estimate: 12-15 working days. That sounds reasonable since they had to replace the roof and trunk. So, I took my car in on a Monday and filled out all the necessary paperwork and told them I wanted to be updated twice a week on the status of the repairs. We all know not having our own car to drive is a strange feeling, so in my mind the sooner I got it back, the better. Well, be careful what you wish for. That Thursday I got a call from Caliber saying they should have it ready the following Monday or Tuesday. What?! A 12-15 working day estimate shrunk down to about 5-6 days? Wow, that is pretty impressive. I was told the body workers work overtime and sometimes work on weekends to help out with the load. It sounded reasonable to me, and I went with it. The next week, I got my car on Tuesday morning. 6 days after dropping my car off to supposedly have 12-15 days worth of work done. This should have raised a red flag, sure, but it didn't because I had my car back. After going over the outside of the car, everything seemed to be ok, and I hopped in and took off with my newly fixed car that looked a lot more like a car and less like a paintball/hailstorm war zone. This, I have discovered, was only the beginning. As I was driving to work, and the week that followed, I started noticing things: 1) There were stains on the headliner like grease and rust. They did have to remove the headliner, but did they not think I would see these stains? 2) There were stains and tears on other parts of the interior of the car. 3) There was paint overspray on the passenger side of the dash of the car. 4) The roof moldings were warped and not completely in place. 5) The headliner was not properly attached around the sunroof area of the interior. 6) The passenger door was not put completely back together (they had to take it apart to fix some of the dings on that door). 7) A screw is missing from the passenger door that keeps the trim flush to the car. 8) There's a scuff on the back bumper of the car that was not present before. ....need I go on? So, as I stated before "Be careful what you wish for..." especially when it comes to fixing your car with Caliber. They did the fix most of the problems that I listed above: 1) Took a few trips back to fix 2, 5, and a few other issues. They did pay for a mobile detailer to clean the inside of my car. This did not remove the stains from the headliner. 2) They paid for a rental car and fixed the remainder of the problems later on, including replacing the entire headliner of my car. However, after this trip, they had my car for 2 days, I noticed a few other things that were not present when I dropped the car off. 3) I noticed a scuff on the bumper and the missing screw after I got my car back the second time. I have not gone back to get these taken care of yet. I am going to see if the scuff will wash off first. If not, back I go. So, there is more I could say, but I believe my point has been made. Caliber is speedy, but this is not a good quality to have, especially for a body repair shop. They were not very careful when it came to putting the car back together. It looks like they sacrificed quality for speed. Now, granted, I did have a lot done to the car, but I would have gladly let them keep the car for a few more days to make sure everything is properly fixed and put back in place and there are no remnants of the repairs. It would have saved me at least 2-3 trips after the fact back to Caliber to have them take care of the problems. Advice: The one piece of advice I can give, even if you are just taking your car in for anything besides oil changes and basic maintenance, take pictures. Take pictures of the outside, inside, and anywhere else you can. That way if you notice anything, you can compare it to the pictures you took. Photographic evidence is very strong. read more

Wow, the fact that this place wrote "Visit us at yelp.com" on the packet they gave me just shows what morons they are. Russell was great the whole way and my car looks great, but those broads at the front need some serious help in the customer service department. I did not go through insurance - the fellow who hit me has been paying for everything. I'd been given an original estimate total, and then I was called the next day and was told it would probably be a few more hundred on top of the original estimate. No problem. Wellll my apartment was recently burglarized, and a couple of days ago fraudulent charges appeared on my checking account, so I had to cancel my debit card, still in limbo waiting for a new one.. So all I have are these God forsaken checks. I had no rental car. I was able to get someone to drop me off to get my car, and when I get there the older woman with the tacky highlights tells me I can't write a check over a thousand dollars, nor can the guy that hit me pay for anything over the phone with his debit/credit card. So I'm stuck at this place, and they don't even try to help, instead they look at me like I'm some untrustworthy hobo who probably doesn't have any money in my account. And what do they keep repeating? "No..I'm just not comfortable with that." OHHHH OK!! So if I were some 50 year old man driving a Beamer you'd probably be a little more comfortable with me writing you a check for over 2 grand right? The way she kept saying it sounded like she was insinuating they weren't comfortable with me writing the check, not that it was policy. One of the service guys drove me to my bank so I could pull out the cash. I should have listened to all the reviews I read online. HORRIBLE customer service and I will tell everyone about my experience with them. read more

I had the unfortunate displeasure of getting into an auto accident almost two weeks ago and was dismayed to find that I was going to have to get a lot of work done on my car. I have not been in a wreck where I needed body work repaired and was very clueless on who to go to. My insurance company (Geico) suggested Caliber Collision Center on 620 as it was close to the house and gave us directions over the phone. The best part about Caliber is that they have a Geico representative in house and can make any adjustments needed so they don't need to call me when something comes up that may need approval. I have heard horror stories about work taking much longer to get completed because the insurance company has to approve it and then call you and then wait until the shop is open and that just sounds like a big pain. Once there we just filled out a little paper work (with pens topped with flowers!) and left the car. The next day the Geico rep (Sal, who was so nice and helpful) gave me the estimate on repairs, the time frame of when it would be completed and how much I would have to pay. Caliber takes everything apart to see exactly what needs to be done and they didn't fix anything that didn't need it. The guys at Caliber let me know what was going on every couple of days so that I had no questions at all. I picked up my car a whole day early and imagine my surprise when I arrived to find my car looking brand new! They had washed it, cleaned the inside and it was sparkling. I paid my deductible and was on my way. Geico covers all parts under warranty and Caliber does as well so all the parts they replaced (printed on a handy itemized list) are double guaranteed should anything else happen. This was the easiest transaction I could have had. I was so impressed by how informative all the employees were and how nice they were. I have been to a couple other places for brakes and whatnot, but these guys were amazing. If you need body work done and have Geico, please save yourself so much hassle and head over to Caliber Collisions, they will set you up and leave you worry free. read more

Honestly, with all of the competition out there it seems that you could be better. Most recently had an accident, minor front end fender/hood/grill work that was received from an F-150's rear end. Nothing technical or complicated in auto industry standards. Contacted my insurance company for recommended providers, they noted that Caliber Collision was close and on their "go to" list. I checked Yelp and saw the reviews, even though they were low in rating and number of reviews I assumed not everyone "Yelps".. and based on my judgement from my insurance company I considered that they have never steered me wrong (pun intended) after many, many years of being a customer. Coordinating the service was good as expected, coordinating the rental they have on site..good as expected, getting the drop off scheduled and rental there at the same time = perfect. Service time = average per say. Where's the issue? Well we were contacted to pick up the vehicle and did so as scheduled. Upon arriving it was noticed that they fixed it by basically painting the bumper, replacing a fender, and mounting the license plate. (thats not the problem) I should say, they forgot to replace the grill, replace the bumper (not just paint it) as there was a crease still in it, and align the washer jets on the hood (along with the hood itself) they removed for painting. Needless to say, this was brought to their attention. The employee seemed like he was not concerned and already turned in the rental; kinda like "check the box" thank yous. So a supervisor was engaged and informed about the issues. They responded that they would address this, and get the rental back to us. They did. To avoid my personal issues, I contacted my insurance carrier about it; needless to say in the near future Caliber got a stern phone call from them. All in all, issue resolved. But the angst comes from: how can you MISS a large crease in the bumper, not reassemble everything as was before, and keep it for about a week (and a day) just to perform about 2 days of work (for what you did)? If you did all the things you should have, the week timeline would have been okay, per say. These are the things that frustrate me, considering I expected accurate service and repair. The only reason they did not get 1 Star is because they did address the issue and that they had the convenience of the rental agency at the location. Otherwise, in this world of very competitive auto repair shops.. it seems that they would prepare themselves better, have better quality control, and understand the job. This may have been a "one off" time for them, but in the modern age of the internet, apps, Yelp, and reviews... that "one off" can be the ONE nail in the coffin that is needed to close you down. Side note: My insurance carrier is respectfully reviewing their standards with this company to prevent additional issues with customers in the future while determining if they will be on their "go to list." read more

Seems I'm not the only one that had a poor experience with trying to get an estimate. I admit I didn't have an appointment. The lady behind the desk seemed very bothered to have to look at the schedule. She asked me to wait while she helped another customer checkout. When the check out became a concern that required calls to the insurance company, I was quickly forgotten. After 10 or 15 minutes, I asked if I should come back, she just looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. I decided to leave and call to make an appointment later. When I did, the disinterested lady answered and again I felt forgotten. It took her 10 minutes to tell me they couldn't see me for a simple quote for over a week. I'm glad business is good for them, but it won't be for long if they keep treating their potential customers this way. read more

I have taken a couple of different vehicles to this Caliber location, and have never been disappointed.The service was great; Chris, the individual who took care of me, was very professional and extremely competent. Chris kept in constant communication with me through the entire process, calling frequentlywith updates. After the job was done, Chris took his time to show me around the car and make sure I was 100 % satisfied before I left the premises. I've had body work done on two cars here, and they've done such an excellent job that I can't tell there was ever a problem. After the first repair of our truck's fender-bender, I recommended them when my mom's car was pelted unmercifully by a 10-minute hail storm that wrecked cars and roofs for miles around. It looked like a jealous girlfriend had taken revenge with a ball peen hammer. When I called them to see when we could bring it in, they told me they were slammed with hail-damaged cars and it would be about a month. Her insurance company suggested a few other shops, but we decided to wait, and it was worth it to drive around like that for a few weeks, because it looked absolutely new when they were finished with it, and she was happy. If you're planning to drop by for an estimate, call first for an appointment and be prepared to wait your turn. They're a small, busy shop. Also, if they're going to need to order parts and you're going to need your car, consider keeping it to drive until the parts are in. They were flexible with me on that. Of course, if it isn't driveable, that won't be an option. And in that case, or in any case, there's an Enterprise car rental place right next door. Quite handy. Also be aware that despite their best estimates, repairs may sometimes take a little longer than they think. It's best to have some alternate transportation in the meantime. read more

I was at the front end of a 3 car collision in mid-July 2015. As a result my rear end took a beating. I had taken another car to them when some teens had decided to back up on my then Blazer and had a GREAT experience then. Of course that was probably at least 3-6 years ago though and likely has changed personnel and their aggressiveness in having business brought to them. I should have known that something was up when I called and they said that they couldn't even estimate the car until 2 weeks later, but I went ahead and set up the appointment and told the insurance company that was paying for the repairs. They had sent over the information to them and anticipated that I would be leaving my SUV with them at that time so they arranged a reservation for me to get a rental truck while Caliber's worked on it. Instead on the appointment day (more than 2 weeks after the accident), we went to Calibers and they gave us an estimate and said to send this to the insurance company and tell them that they considered it total and wouldn't be working on it. When I got home and told the insurance company's agent about the experience, she got mad saying, "That's not what I had told them to do. I told them to fix your car." She immediately put me on a 3 way call with her to call Caliber's and ask why they didn't go ahead and work on my car? Conveniently, he had just left. Receptionist said that she would leave a message for him to call the agent. To my knowledge, he never did and she wasn't able to get hold of him. The next day the agent called me back and told me that she wasn't able to get hold of him. I suggested that we looked for Plan B. Because I have a Mitsubishi Montero, we looked for something that was related to the dealership and discovered Roger Beasley Collision. I called the north location because it was closer than the south, but they had just had an influx of collisions for repairs at their location and suggested calling the south. The south location of Roger Beasley Collision got our business and it was worth every bit of driving 20+ miles to that location rather than dealing with Caliber's that was at most 3 miles down the road from us. Very disappointed with the staff and the feeling that they were just trying to shuffle us out the door. I would avoid them at all costs; it seems that they don't want to be in business anymore. I'm not sure that the insurance agent would be referring them to anyone anytime soon. read more

I have never written a review in my life, but this calls for one, because I don't want other people to be scammed like I was. !!BEWARE!! Caliber is invested in it's relationship with the insurance companies more than with you. That's how they keep getting all of their business. I got rear ended in my convertible 2 months ago. I immediately took it to the collision repair shop that was suggested. First mistake! 2 months later, after returning it for not repairing it correctly, I have my car back... and it's still not completely repaired! I am furious with them. Here were my problems: 1. My rear quarter panel and bumper of my car was replaced. All of the convertible motors are behind that rear panel. They did not care to test to see if the convertible top went down after they had repaired the body work and some motors. REALLY?! It didn't go up or down and so this is (one of the reasons) why I returned it. My assumption is because it's December and a little chilly, they thought I wouldn't put it down until the spring, and by that time it wouldn't be covered under insurance. I don't think Caliber wanted to have to be the bearer of bad news to the insurance company to total my car. 2. After my car was returned the first time, in fine print, I read that they used aftermarket parts to replace my body panels without my knowledge. I drive a Lexus. That is a devaluing factor. 3. My car was returned to me with several broken or dirty parts. They broke a clip in my trunk, they didn't replace a plastic piece under my mat that had gotten mangled and instead flatted it out and tucked it back under the mat, they created permanent ripples in my back leather seat, got several black oil stain hand prints all over my light grey leather, and chipped my back windshield (which they wouldn't own up to). Most of all, they didn't realize the noticeable gap between the trunk and body panel on that rear passenger side, compared to the rear driver side. I guess they hoped I wouldn't either! 4. After my car was totaled, my service advisor did not care to mark down all of the luxury options my car had that would have valued it WAY higher for insurance money. Things as easy to determine as XM radio, climate control seats, rear spoiler, wood grain, etc... 5. After having my car in the shop for nearly 2 months, I was down to about 4 days of a rental car left on my insurance claim. I asked Caliber to help pay for my rental car while they continued their repairs (since none of this was my fault that I had to return my car for their mistakes) and was told, "we are not a rental car company, we are a repair shop". Apparently a repair shop that can't get their shit together... 6. When it was all said and done and I wanted to pick up my car, he told me it would take several days for them to pay Lexus "with a credit card by email" instead of calling with a card number and doing the transaction in a matter of minutes. I didn't have several days of a rental car left and he knew that. He also told me that I would have to pay a storage fee while the payment went through... again... with a credit card, which to my knowledge, is immediate payment... I am extremely unsatisfied with their work, customer service, and professionalism and will NOT be recommending them to anyone. I was told from my mechanic to go to Jeff's Auto Body Repair if there's ever a next time. They will apparently duke it out with insurance and are honest. read more

We had a wonderful experience. The manager was soooo helpful and friendly. We had to get repairs done during the whole COVID thing and it all went so smoothly. The manager even brought the truck to our house since we couldn't come get it! We will definitely use them again. read more
