Sometimes bad stuff happens so later you can see the good out of it.
TLDR: Go here, they go above and beyond. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. They fixed my ride right + did additional small fixes not included / discussed + detailed the car.
Details below:
A lady hit me by jumping out from side aisles into the main drive where I have as much right of way as red and white and blue does on an American flag. As much as she tried to argue, I had the right of way. But she was cool about it (later). I was bummed out cuz I had no run ins for years and I had happy little car with minor dents and bruises. And it was like I had some special protection thing going on. But at least it wasn't worse, so I can't get too mad at God. God's awesome anyways and puny mortals can't argue in any case.
Hartford was her insurance, and their adjuster / agent; and they approved of owning the accident. They had this place on their car repair hit list. Now I've read and heard the horror stories, yelp said Caliber was good, and other people said it was great, so I went here.
Andrew was helpful and knowledgeable. Set an appointment and was there. Walk through the process. It took 5 days, but they had to get parts. He went into detail into the repairs so everything was crystal. He also was an import car fan and so we talked a bit about those (my car is Japanese make)
But here's the cool part; the happy lady at the front desk also connected me to Enterprise once I took my car in. Also she went through the forms, but gave the quick explanation of the fine print (I took time to speed read the major parts).
Yo, inside, they got a coffee station, it might have tea, but didn't try it out. They had movie style popcorn maker with popcorn. They had water bottles for the plastic ok health conscious (some health nuts freak out over plastics n PCBs and gas release etc), and they had Toy Story 2 or 3 playing to keep the kids occupied.
Andrew also kept me appraised about the repair (and also Hartford as I called my contact to let him know, but he already knew), and anything extra.
I got the car back. The repaired area was new. Not near new, or they got parts from the junkyard. But NEW.
I didn't realize it at the time as I was late for work, so I went over the repair. Nice. Later I found out they did other things. The tires were cleaned. The inside was detailed.
I had a loose door handle, and that was tightened (I knew how to do it, but I had to take the door apart), I guess they had to remove the door (to replace the side fender) and fixed it while that was occurring. Awesome!
My head lights (the lamp covers) had this oxidation thing going (I was going to polish that off), they polished the oxidation so they look new. I wish car manufacturers would go back to glass or anti oxidized clear plastics for headlights . . . another thread lol.
The fender (where the crunch and dent was) was new, I got a new bumper and they matched the paint (my car is old, so the paint is faded like a proper high top) as best as they could, the fender had a great new paint job (they had to match it to the doors, which look near new).
My car loves me. Great job. But whats great was the attention to detail and the above and beyond which is really great. read more
