Terrible company. Summary is don't waste your time unless you want to end up wasting hours of your time trying to return the product that doesn't live up to expectations, and spending money on shipping it back. These guys are scammers. I Bought a custom windshield shade. Before I purchased, I asked for a picture to see how it would fit my car. I emphasized a perfect fit around the rear view mirror was key. They sent me a picture. Looked like a perfect fit. When I received the shade it didn't fit at all. I wrote them and sent them some pictures showing it did not fit my car. He wrote me back and said he didn't have the pic his colleague sent me of the fit so I had to send him the pic he should have had in the email chain. He wrote back again and said their manufacturer said they sent the right shade even though it didn't fit my car. He then said he was on my side in working with the manufacturer. It was as if he denied having any type of accountability for selling me a product they claimed was custom that didn't fit, and that he was only a neutral, third-party mediating between me and the manufacturer whom I've never even dealt with .He told me that my best bet is to send more pictures from the angles that would match the manufacturer's pictures. So I obliged, even though I thought that was absolutely nonsense since the pictures that I sent showed clearly that the shade did not fit. And he also said I should explain to the manufacturer my issue. To me it's completely ridiculous that I have to argue with the manufacturer when California car cover should be doing that. They acted like they were a neutral third-party with no accountability for the products they are selling and marketing as custom. . So I sent back all the requested info and said I wanted a full refund and a free shipping label. Finally, he gave me a shipping label and I sent the shade back but they still charged me $14 for shipping back their crap product. read more

I have a 1959 Chevy step side pick up. I tried finding a cover that fit over and over. Nothing fit. Eventually, I came upon California Car Covers. The service was excellent. The cover fit perfectly. It was more expensive than others, but the quality is very good. After, a year, I contacted the company to ask how to wash the cover. They responded quickly and clearly. I followed their directions and the cover came clean. Only problem is that there were now a few small holes in the cover. I prepared to be disappointed when I contacted them again about the damage, but they were great! They told me the cover has a 4-year warranty so send it back and they will fix or replace it at no cost. Excellent responsiveness and I look forward to getting the matter resolved. I have two large dogs that I needed a ramp so they could get into my Jeep. I found the WeatherTech EasyRamp and it looked perfect. Everyone on the web had the product at $189 except for California Car Cover - they had it at $149 which is a significant savings so I ordered through them, saving, I thought. $40. Ramp came in and was just as described but my dogs were afraid of it so I will have to find another solution. Anyway.... I put the ramp back in the boxes it came in and went to the web to get a return authorization. They absolutely highlight the fact that they don't cover the cost of returns (they must get a lot) and so I was on the hook to pay the shipping. Oh, well... Went to UPS and the cost of shipping the product back was $80! And, I may hit for a 15% restocking fee. So much for saving $40. At this point, with the restocking fee, I will be down $60 for testing the ramp. Lesson, I would not buy anything from California Car Cover unless I am 110% sure that the item will be what I expect. read more

I purchased a shop stool from California Car Cover. When it arrived, the outside box was in near perfect condition but the inner box containing the stool was scuffed and torn through in several places. The seat of the stool had a small tear in it. After emailing customer service to just let them know, I received an email from Justin. He gave me the option to return the stool at no cost, get a partial refund, or have the distributor send me a replacement. I chose to have the distributor send me a replacement. Well, it turns out that the distributor sent me one that was even more damaged than the one I originally received. (Shame on you Richardson Seating Corp) I'm talking loose parts in a box with no packing. I was able to take both stools and make one perfect one, and another that is somewhat ripped, but otherwise functional. I have to say that Justin responded quickly, and was very professional, I believe he truly did his best to take care of this. I am very satisfied with the handling of this problem, and will definitely do business with Cal Car Cover again. The issues I had were not their direct fault, and in my opinion Justin went above and beyond to protect his customer. read more

I've used California Car Covers for ~5 years. I just replaced a 5 year old Stormweave with the new Sunarmour-5. I reached out to their customer service to pick a solid replacement and Tyler was very helpful. I live in Los Angeles, so my cover get's plenty of UV exposure. I think a ~5 year lifespan is pretty acceptable for a cover that 100% outdoors, installed ~60% of the year. read more
