If you choose to gamble a different way than the casinos, then grabbing a few "scratchers" or super lotto ticket might be a fun thing to do. You can grab those just about 15 min west from town. Exit after Verdi and set back far enough West to be in California, is the California Lottery building, There are 3 or 4 "scratcher" ticket vending machines that you can grab a ticket self serve. You can also go to the counter and get a ticket for any number of games such as Powerball and Super Lotto, usually played on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule, The lady at the counter was friendly and the process is quick. I wont say I have a great track record on winning, but it's still fun to play every so often!

In this type of business the workers must remain flexible and adapt to the environment. Kind of like a chameleon. So how do you go from the friendly clerk that likes to chat up the regulars like it is a beauty salon or barbershop to wham bam thank you ma'am or sir, who is next? Some how the staff here is always up for the challenge. Warm and friendly yet efficient in busier times and genuine and chatty when it is slower. I have been in here on stormy days where the clerks have said we were the only ones in so far today to times like the events surrounding the $900 million draw coming up this week with lines far out into the parking lot. (BTW if I win I wont be Yelping for a few weeks) It is unique and fun with the building straddling the California / Nevada state lines. There is a line in the middle of the store that let's you know when you have crossed over. Easy parking, great handicapped access, and feels lucky. Well, not always when you are checking your tickets for past winnings. (Did I mention, I hope to win?) Best of luck when ever you play, if you are fortunate the Lottery will pay, and stop by here to brighten you day.

09/05/17 I think this is the best place to buy California lottery tickets. It looks like it's in Nevada but it's not. You have to drive back behind the casino to where the ticket office straddles the California state line. It is tucked away back in. It is a small building and all they do is sell lottery tickets. It is just a short drive from Reno. Plus if you are hungry you can eat for cheap at Gold Ranch which is just a ways in front of the Lottery building. There are two fast food restaurants attached to the Casino and a gas station. There is a huge parking lot. The staff is knowledgeable, quick and friendly. What more could you ask for. It is CASH ONLY but they do have an ATM inside and restrooms.

Long line if you want your own numbers

The go to place to buy lotto and lottery tickets for the Reno/Sparks area. The staff is friendly and helpful if you have a question. It is CASH ONLY for the tickets. They do have an ATM machine inside if you forget this when you arrive. In addition they do sell candies, chips, ice cream and soda if you happen to get the munchies while buying some tickets. For major jackpots expect there to be a long line. This should only be used by those who wish to select their own numbers. Do not use this line if you only want quick picks! Tip: If you only want some quick pick tickets...there are two better options than waiting in the long line: 1. take the shorter line to the self help kiosk (this is currently on the right hand side by the bathrooms) and buy any qty you want. or.... 2. Buy a preprinted quick pick ticket from the worker selling them just inside the store (usually standing next to the quick pick kiosk). They are $10 each (**note this gives you $10 worth of tickets. Example for Powerball this means 5 tickets since they are $2 each) Good luck!!

    Fun fun!!!

Customer service is always great no matter how busy they get!!! The lines can be out the wazoo sometimes but they are very organized on how the line moves which is always appreciated. The store is always clean and the staff are courteous. I love getting scratchers here... ticky tickies, get your tickits!!!

Closest place to go play lottery from las.Vegas. Only about 35 minutes away. Gets a little busy when the lottery gets at a high amount.

Coming here on a holiday (Mother's Day) may have been a misjudgment/mistake. Upon arrival, my mother & I were waiting patiently at the front counter for 5 minutes. A female server (did not get her name) finally came up and asked how many of us were there, and we indicated a party of two for the outdoor patio area. We were informed that the seating would be prepared, as if we were going to be seated soon. Then, Sarah (server) came up to the front and informed us that there was actually a wait list (up to 15 minutes) and that a few parties were waiting in front of us. From there, the miscommunication began. After waiting a bit longer, Lucas (busser/server assistant) finally led us to our table outside. He asked for our drink and soup orders to get us started. He initially mentioned the soup of the day, which was the Chicken Tortilla Squash. Moments later, Sarah brought out a Tomato Bisque Soup instead. I informed her that I was extremely lost because that was not what I ordered. She said Lucas was incorrect and that the Tomato Bisque was the soup of the day. I understood, however, the bowl was immediately taken away from me. Sarah neither asked nor offered if I still wanted the soup (which I still did actually). After several moments, Sarah came to write down our order. I re-requested the soup and ordered the 1/2 lb Ham Steak breakfast plate, which came with toast, eggs, and hash browns. My mother asked for Chicken Tenders and the $9.99 Quiche Special - the slice of Bacon, Onion, and Swiss Quiche. Afterwards, we heard the nearby table ordering the quiche deal, too. However, they were presented with the option of either having the fruit or the side salad on the side. My mother was not afforded the opportunity at all, as Sarah failed to mention it. Upon food arrival, the quiche plate came with fruit. However, my mother would have preferred a side salad. This was another example of customer service lacking. Even though the execution of the food was good and met expectations, the customer service definitely left a lot of room to be desired throughout the entire dining experience. It was not as welcoming, attentive, and amiable as anticipated. The visit was filled with a lot of apologies, minimally short interactions, and miscommunications. Sarah ended up comping the bill, which was very unexpected. I was prepared to give one star, just because the service fell deeply beyond meeting expectations. However, the rating has been increased to two stars due to Sarah making it somewhat right at the end. All we wanted was a decent meal with kind service. I don't recommend visiting this restaurant on busy holidays, as they don't seem to have the capacity. This day was extremely off because that reason could be the factor.

Items were removed from our bags and moved to different locations, and $70 in cash was missing. What was equally concerning was how the situation was handled. Management brushed us off and referred us to security. The security representative showed little interest in speaking with us and only wanted a written statement. He then stated they would "watch the video" to see what happened. Since the incident occurred inside our private room, we immediately asked what video he was referring to. He then denied making the statement and would not provide clarification. We were told the incident would be investigated, but since then our calls have not been returned and we have received no updates. The missing money is concerning, but the greater issue is the complete violation of our privacy and the lack of concern or communication afterward. Guests should be able to trust that their belongings will remain private and secure in their hotel room. Unfortunately, after this experience, we no longer have that trust in the Atlantis.

You're strongly encouraged to check in through a mobile link, but once you arrive, you still end up standing in line to complete the process and/or get your room key, which defeats the purpose of the mobile check-in. My limited interactions with the staff, both by phone and in person, also left much to be desired. I didn't encounter much warmth, kindness, or even basic pleasantries, which made the overall experience feel less welcoming. My room was in the Sierra Tower. The room itself was decent and had the basics, but it was noticeably dusty and could have been cleaner. My bed wasn't even fully made. Just a flat sheet and comforter on the mattress. My phone poor service and although the hotel has WiFi, the connection is poor and unstable in certain areas There are multiple restaurants, bars, and lounges throughout the property, which is convenient, but unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. I also experienced multiple stomachaches during my stay, which certainly didn't help my impression of the dining options. Reno unfortunately appears to have a significant drug-related issue, and while this hotel seemed to be one of the nicer options in the area, the overall experience still wasn't enough to make me want to return. I don't see myself staying here again unless I absolutely have to. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this location.

Bed bugs, two room moves, and absolutely no mitigation plan!!!…read more I have never written a public review before, despite plenty of less than perfect experiences. I worked in the service industry for years and generally believe businesses deserve the opportunity to make things right. The Nugget had that opportunity and chose not to.. During our stay for Hot August Nights, we discovered bed bugs in room 1638. Security responded promptly, confirmed the issue, documented it, and moved us to room 2838. That replacement room had a long standing AC leak, saturated carpet, peeling wallpaper, and visible growth behind the wall covering. Engineering inspected it the next morning and told us we absolutely could not remain there. We were moved again, to room 1242. The frontline employees were kind, responsive, and genuinely helpful. Management was the problem. We repeatedly asked what the hotel could do to prevent us from carrying bed bugs into the next rooms or home with us. There was no laundry service, no heat treatment option, no containment procedure offered, and no written policy or protocol available when requested. We were allowed to move the same luggage and belongings from 1638 to 2838 and then to 1242 with no mitigation whatsoever. If we had picked up hitchhikers in the original room, we could easily have carried them through multiple hotel rooms and eventually home. We are now home and spending our own time laundering and heat treating our belongings because the property offered no assistance with this before our departure. Manager on Duty Cole Hughes was particularly disappointing. After initially avoiding speaking with us directly, he ultimately offered no meaningful assistance and told us, in substance, that once we left the property the problem would be ours. He then directed us back to Security, whose staff had already done far more to help us than management had. We requested management follow up in writing while we were still on property. No response. We requested information about what to do if we brought bed bugs home. No answer. We were told Risk Management would contact us in 7 to 15 business days. Before departure, I ultimately obtained the Risk Management phone number from Security myself. I called after returning home and left a message. This is what bothers me most: the Nugget responded to the rooms, but not to the guests. Moving us was necessary. It was not a complete response to a bed bug exposure. If this is what corporate ownership has turned guest service into, relocate, document, pass the customer to Risk Management, and wait for them to leave, it is incredibly disappointing. I am writing this because future guests should know: if you encounter bed bugs here, based on our experience, do not assume the property has a meaningful procedure in place to help prevent you from carrying them elsewhere or taking them home. Security and Engineering deserve credit. Management absolutely does not.
