Rough night at CPK. We did an online order for a pizza and a salad and arrived at the end of the pickup window that was given to us. Our order was not ready for over twenty minutes after that. Felt bad for the lone dude that was working the counter. Clearly short staffed. He was very friendly and apologetic for the tardiness of the order. Now on to the food. Upon arriving home, we were very disappointed. We like CPK, but apparently it is something you need to enjoy dining in, which we normally do. The pizza was just not good. My friend and I just dined in and had the sweetest, caring waitress of all times. Her name was Mackenna (ken). She was attentive, patient and always thought one step ahead, which made our dining experience enjoyable. She brought us waters, more bread, 'to go' boxes and even wrote the remaining amount on the gift card without even having to ask. I haven't had this kind of service in a long time. Very rude and poor customer service. One of my families favorite restaurant chains to visit, we decided to stop by on the 3rd of Jan for the 1st time of the year as we were enjoying a great family day and were in the area. We ordered about $150 worth of food but my burger was super salty and very well done, when I asked for medium well. I was very hungry after being out all day so I took one more bite just to make sure I could bare with it but I decided I would ask them to remake it because it was way too salty and crispy & I thought I should have it the way I wanted for $25 a burger. When I told my waitress the 1st thing she said was "well you already ate most of it" which both my wife and I felt was so rude. My wife told her she shouldn't be commenting like that, and I told her if it's a problem they don't have to remake it, her comment actually made me loose my appetite, as if I was trying to get a free meal or something. I just bought $150 worth of food, you think I'm trying to steal a couple of bites of a sandwich, she reluctantly said she'd bring me a new plate of both fries and a burger but only returned with a burger. My family and I always have a wonderful time at this restaurant chain but we even left without getting dessert, we definitely won't be returning to this location. read more

For a chain restaurant, CPK does really good food. They have great bread and i love their chicken piccata pasta and the spicy Sicilian pizza. They did remove my favorite salad (grilled veggie) and I'm hoping they bring that back someday or make it seasonal at least. This place is just such a good spot for lunch dates or quick meals. You get quality without having to go to some stuffy pretentious high end restaurant. The servers are always nice and have a great attitude. This is the 7th time we came here. This time we sat and waited to order longer than other times. We were very hungry and asked for their bread. Last time they didn't even brought it out for us - we were disappointed and I wrote a 2 stars review but decided to not submit. The place was not busy today but they seems backed up making foods because there were four tables of customers that came before us turning their fingers - LOL. Our pizza were burnt and somehow my pizza didn't taste like it just came out of the oven but it was sitting on the counter for at least 5 minutes before it was brought to my table. HORRIBLE. The service... the food. I waited 6 minutes at the front for the hostess to come to greet and seat me. He or she never showed up, I had to walk over to the take out register where I waited for about 4 minutes while employees were having a back and fourth over whether another tables food was correct. A guy finally came from the back and asked if I needed help, I said that I wanted to be seated. He then stated that I had to park my stroller outside (I have a newborn who was very visible)... fast forward finally got seated the waitress who was nice came pretty quick, took my order Garlic Cream Fettuccine with GRILLED chicken and LINGUINI noodles. Went here with my family for lunch. I'm not even going to comment on the food with how dissatisfied I was with the service. The hostess was nice and seated us promptly. Our waitress was friendly and took our orders. The server that brought our food, Cee-Jay, was a total dick. No customer service at all. He dropped off our food and tried to leave right away. He didn't even ask if my wife wanted Parmesan for her pasta but he offered it to the table right behind us. When my wife requested for bread and plates, he rolled his eyes. We waited and he did not bring anything back. We had to wait to ask our waitress. If your restaurant is understaffed, I get it. The food was decent, the service, not so much. While restaurant managers/supervisors are notorious for being rude and mean to their staff, it should not be seen or heard by customers. At this place, it is on full display. Our party arrived near opening and I could hear the manager barking orders rudely at the staff. I had seating requests, which were completely ignored, and I could overhear the manager telling his staff to seat us somewhere else. We were one of the first to be seated and order, but ended up waiting almost an hour for our food to be served. Inside was less 30% full yet our server seemed a bit overworked. Our pizza seemed a bit more hard and chewy than I remember in the past. It makes for an unpleasant experience when all or most of the staff seem unhappy and on edge and it really does start with how the store is being managed and this one is disorderly, stressful and depressing. Every time we come here we get yummy pizza and great service. Today Robyn helped us and she was awesome. I liked their mango tea, made an Arnold Palmer. My husband ordered the sticky Asian cauliflower and it was very savory a great option for a meatless appetizer. We both ordered from the lunch menu and were very happy with our orders. For Father's Day dinner with my husband and my son was a flop at CPK. I called to reserve a table and we arrived 5 minutes after calling. We still waited when only four tables were occupied. The host was nowhere to be seen. We didn't mind. Lauryn was our server. She was attentive but she tried to pull a fast one on us with spinach artichoke dip and chip. The chips were nothing but crumbs. They were stale. It seemed it was from bottom of plastic bag of chips just pour on a platter. No thank you! She brought small bowl of chips after I made a comment. Garlic Fettuccine, the works pizza, and strawberry summer salad were just okay. Simply ordinary food that I make at home. Even my son who normally doesn't complain made a comment that, "it was disappointing." He shook his head. However, he said fresh bread with evoo dipping oil was good. My mom experienced racism here. She waited over 30 min and did not get serviced at all, not even water. She kept asking the waitress when she will take her order and the waitress said that this is her servicing area, but the person at the front did not assign her to the table so she cannot take her order yet....???? (Being nice has its benefits) So CPK isn't as amazing as I remember, but it's still ok. We had the spinach artichoke dip, Szechwan Chicken Dumpling, Classic Chicken Caesar Salad, Barbecue Chicken Pizza, and for a drink I had the Watermelon Sangria. We don't come here super often but she always remembers my drink (which is only iced tea, nothing crazy) and she is so efficient and sweet! Yesterday we went shopping at the Brea Mall. We decided to stop at CPK and try their new menu. It had been over a year since we had eaten there. We were very happy with the entire exsperience. We ordered the White Corn Quacamole and Chips, Chicken Piccata, California Veggie Pizza and Butter Cake. It was all delicious! The service was top notch. We were especially happy to meet Alicia and Kaylie. They were both very friendly and accommodating. Jakob, who was at the Take Out Counter was also welcoming and attentive. We highly recommend sitting at the counter where you can watch your favorite sports game and see the pizzas coming out of the oven. We are looking forward to returning to CPK very soon! read more

I absolutely love their spinach artichoke dip! It is one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. I cannot dine in at a CPK without ordering their spinach artichoke dip ($11.69). Another item I always have to order is their signature BBQ chicken pizza ($15.49). We also ordered their Garlic cream with Chicken pasta ($16.79) and it was so creamy and delicious! As soon as my boyfriend and I sat down, it got really busy so our server wasn't able to come to our table as often as we'd like. Ip did apologize and we were totally fine with it. We still got our fresh bread from Jeff (whom I believe is the manager)! He was able to help Ip out by refilling our waters and getting us cheese and pepper flakes! Cpk is really cheap with food portion. I ordered the Jambalaya linguini and chicken piccata. The portion of the chicken piccata was equivalent to a kids plate, but still charge for a full plate. Came out to dinner with my family on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was pretty empty and plenty of seats were available. We were seated quickly after walking in. Our server brought out the complimentary bread and olive oil to our table. The bread was not warm and it was just okay. Fresh loaves were done being made for the day. However, the side of butter that can be requested always compliments the bread. For our main dishes, we ordered a Thai Crunch salad with the dressing on the side and a Spicy Chipotle Chicken Pizza minus the meat with a cauliflower crust. Our food took a while to arrive and everything came out incorrect. The salad had the dressing on top even when it was requested to be served on the side and the pizza came with a regular crust. We had to wait for a while more and finally our food arrived with the correct modifications. The food was not great. The pizza did not seem warm. My family and I were disappointed with the slow service. Our server tried their best to be helpful. I would not recommend the food, CPK is not like how it used to be. Would not recommend take out from this CPK. We have ordered online and done curbside pickup and several times we get home and notice items missing. Today was the last straw, I don't think we'll order from here again. We ordered the Chipotle Chicken Pizza and the Tostada pizza for take out. When we got home, we realized that the pizzas didn't have any toppings on them. The toppings are supposed to come on the side, but they were not placed in our bag. We also ordered the fish tacos which are supposed to have "fresh avocado" on top. The avocado on top was definitely not fresh - take a look at the pictures. When this picture was showed to the front desk, the response was simply "this is how it is served." I'm really sorry..I wanted to like it and was excited to try it. But it was horrible. To start off it was an online order and when we went to pick it up the young woman at the online area was either tired, didn't care, or rude.. maybe all of the above. And it wasn't crowded or busy to where she should be stressed out. We live 5 minutes away from the Brea Mall CPK and when we got home it looked like our pizza had been sitting for hours. It was cold and burnt. We also ordered the corn, which was really cold as well. We set our pick up time for 430pm and we're there before 430pm.. so I know it wasn't our fault for not picking it up on time. We ordered some carmel pudding for dessert and the little amount of pudding was only there to cover a hard as rock horrible chocolate like "cake" you couldn't even get your fork into. After all that we thought about calling them to let them know, but the $85.00 tab was only $35.00 out of pocket because someone had given us a $50.00 gift card a couple months earlier. Besides we definitely weren't looking for a refund via gift card because that experience was so awful we would never use it if they offered it, nor would I feel good about handing it off to someone else. Lesson learned... if I want CPK I will just purchase the CPK pizza in the frozen section of the grocery store. I know it's really silly to feel this way, but sometimes as a yelp "elite," I feel like I need to adhere to unspoken rules of eating out. For example, if I'm hankering for some pizza, why not try one of OC's many fine mom and pop establishments? hole in the walls? under-the-radar establishments? But sometimes, a client gifts you a $50 gift card and you just gotta go to CPK. I'll be honest: I wasn't expecting much. After all, how good could a chain be? I'll be honest: it was pretty dang good. First, the Avocado Egg Rolls. I don't know what kind of voodoo magic goes into making these, but the combination of avocado, chicken, bacon, tomatoes, and cheese--all wrapped and deep fried in a cripsy wonton--complimented by TWO different kinds of ranch...it was just awesome. My wife who is much more health conscious than me generally doesn't like stuff like this, but even she had to admit through reluctant (but repeated) bites that, damn, this was good. Second, the pizza. We ordered 2 kinds: bbq chicken and the club. We ordered the BBQ chicken bc that's arguably CPK's most popular and best selling pizza. It was good, but nothing special. The chicken was a little dry tbh but the combination of bbq sauce, red onions, and cilantro was enough to pass the taste test, albeit without flying colors. The Club on the other hand was a delight. It basically came out looking like a pizza topped with an arugula salad but I'm not saying that as a bad thing. It was refreshing yet tasty (hello smoked bacon) and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a slightly (notice I said "slightly") lighter option. No one goes to CPK looking to make healthy choices, but I'd say the Club was a lighter but very nice order. And the best part? The bill. For the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids), we only had to pay $5 (thank you $50 gift card)! But for a dinner out (and not having to cook) $55 is not bad! All this to say, we may never go to CPK sans gift card, but we also wouldn't say no if the chance arose. Thanks CPK for restoring our faith in the chain restaurant. Next stop: RED LOBSTER. We haven't been to CPK since pandemic started. Today we decided to go back and it did not disappoint us. We went during happy hour and it was a steal. $6 for pizza and a beer. Also have 1/2 price appetizer and all drinks. We order the bbq chicken pizza, Hawaiian and the works. There are some surcharge for some pizza but not sure which one.
