Was in the area, saw this place and BRAVELY without Yelping it first walked in to try a slice. It was a scary thing to attempt not yelping first, but remember when we all used to do that?! Okay now that I got that drama out of my system. I love places that sell pizza by the slice. It's a nice way to sample their pie w/o committing to a whole pie. This place is no frills, so if you like frills go away. If you've kept reading that means you are okay w/o frills and just interested in the pizza. I like you. It was pretty good. It was middle of the day so it wasn't busy. They had pepperoni and cheese slices in a display warmer thingamajig (technical phrase) and it looked pretty fresh. I saw a sign on the window that said slice and soda for $2 so I went with that. The worker (he seemed like the owner) personally resliced the slice giving me that oh so important fraction of a slice more. He placed in the oven for like 2 mins to make sure it was hot...much appreciated. I helped myself to a can of coke in the fridge and after just 2 camera phone takes for my IG and Yelp I was ready to indulge in this semi thin crust, cheesy, greasy, pepperoni-y slice of pizza. It was pretty damn tasty. Basically all the ingredients tasted as you would expect. What a concept right? It was a little bit greasy as some other reviews have pointed out, but I SINFULLY enjoyed every drop of that grease. Which begs me to wonder where does one find a non greasy slice of good pizza? The vegan, gluten free section at Whole Foods? (Shrugs). If I had one complaint at all it would be I would like to see some crispiness coming from the bottom of the crust, but that's just the bougie "I love NY pizza while in NY" in me talking. I am soooo glad we found this pizza location!! My husband and I live across the street and we kept saying that we wanted to give it a try and never got around to it. The other day we decided to give it a try and we were not dissatisfied. I would probably say this was the best pizza we had ever tasted! The ingredients were fresh tasting, baked just right, and the customer service was amazing! Since I am 9 months pregnant, I even ordered again the next day and the owner remembered me! LOL! I now have had my mom and dad in on this gem and my sister! I recommend to anyone looking for good quality pizza! Oh and not to mention the quick service!! I had been to Cali's Pizza before a looooonggg time ago. It was not that great. However, I was tired of the corporate Pizza places nearby so I said what the heck, I'll go to Cali's again. When I went in I discovered that Cali's had changed ownership. There was a new menu, prices, and recipe. The new owner was very friendly and told me about how he had acquired Cali's sometime around October 17'. I bought a Medium pizza. When I got home and opened it, it was visibly way better than the Cali's from the past. Me and my family really enjoyed this pizza. I will definitely be coming back for more. This place serves pies that are basically like frozen pizzas you buy from the store and put in the oven, they have the exact same taste. Tried it twice and it's last resort type food if you live within walking distance but I won't be going back. read more
