For takeout on June 1, 2023 We wanted some tea drinks after going to the Timeless Treasures Boutique on Edinger Ave. CaliTea came up as a suggestion and was close to where we were. Daughter started the order with her Lava Flow Smoothie with organic almond milk. She ordered a Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Honey Boba for her sister. I wanted a Matcha Milk Tea 75% sweet less ice as it was cloudy that day and I would usually need a hot drink. Daughter ordered a second drink of Tropic Osmanthus. We ended with niece who wanted a Peach Cantaloupe with crystal boba. Cashier was patient explaining the difference between Brown Sugar Fresh Milk and Brown Sugar Milk Tea and taking such a big order. She even keyed in the check-in discount of 15%. Daughter enjoyed the Lava Flow Smoothie because it was pineapple coconut with strawberry syrup and tasted like a pina colada. I liked my matcha milk tea because it was smooth and creamy. Niece could taste that the fruit tea was freshly brewed. We never knew of this place. Now that we are aware of CaliTea's existence we will come again when we're in this part of the city. read more

I came in around 3:00 PM, and the place was packed. Despite the rush, there was only one worker handling everything, taking orders, making drinks, and managing customers all on their own. I ended up waiting about 20-30 minutes just for a single drink, which felt like a really long time, considering it was just one order That being said, when I finally got my drink, the cali milk tea, it was amazing. However the overall experience was frustrating because the shop seemed severely understaffed. I genuinely felt bad for the worker, who was clearly overwhelmed. A 20 minute wait for one drink is pretty crazy. I'd love to come back for the drinks but I really hope they address their staffing issues. Went here with friends for boba and all ordered different milk teas (one of them who had previously been here recommended it). I got the horchata milk tea with golden boba, and while I didn't mind the boba, the tea was pretty awful. I think the actual milk tea base wasn't bad, but there was SO much cinnamon in it that honestly tasted like I was eating mouthfuls of cinnamon. I couldn't really taste anything else beyond the grittiness and overwhelming cinnamon flavor. I might go back and try something else, but definitely do not recommend the horchata tea. Boba - 4 Milk tea - 2 After a couple tries, both times I've felt that I wasted my $5. It's not complete disgusting, but it's definitely not Orobae (if you know you know!) The boba is actually pretty darn good - soft, sweet, fresh. The milk tea, however, is very light on the tea side - even with 25% sweetness. The first time I went, I tried the Cali milk tea with 50% and thought it was definitely too sweet. The second time, I tried the same one with 25% but even still I could only taste the milk and the boba. If I do go back, I may ask for extra tea but I don't want to pay more for it. I've been here twice already. The first time, I got 50% sugar in my drink and it was way too sweet for the sugar level that I requested. It also seemed like it was what regular sugar level should be. Despite that the boba and tea were still pretty good. Boba had a good texture. The second time, I got 25% sugar in my drink and it wasn't quite sweet enough. That's the thing about the sugar level, if it's pretty sweet, it can make most boba seem to be pretty good. When it's less sweet, then it's a lot easier to tell if the boba actually has flavor. The boba was lacking flavor this time, but still had a great texture. Overall, it's not bad, but a bit overpriced considering that it seems like they need to stabilize their standards and create more consistency in their quality of drinks. It's what you would expect with a cheaper priced boba drink. Either way, it hits the spot when you have a boba craving. My suggestion is to order your drink less sweet, taste it in store, then have them adjust it as needed. read more

I went to the CaliTea Cerritos location a few times and I'm so happy they opened one much closer to my house! SERVICE: 4/5 Service is good. Everyone's very friendly and helpful! But there's some employee here (they're all friendly) but kept saying "WHAT" whenever they didn't hear me. I find that annoying when someone says that to me because you could just say excuse me. DRINKS: 4/5 Roasted Oolong Milk Tea 3/5: I think it was alright. It tasted like every other place's oolong but stronger than other places. It was too meh for me. Hojicha Milk Tea 4/5: one of my favorite drinks from here. Pairing this with the coffee jelly was 100x better. This drink could be creamier and more flavorful though. Prices are kind of pricier than your average boba, BUT it's worth it considering they have a variety of drinks and some of them are indeed high quality. read more

Menu: very detailed and sectioned it off based off what type of drinks, sweetness levels, different types of dairy options, and add-ons. Drink: Got an avocado smoothie. Was very smooth and did not have chunks. It had the right amount of sweetness that I wanted. Service: Their service is to the T(ea)! Came here today because my daughters LOVE boba and we had not found a good one near our new home. I think we've found it. I ordered the winter melon black tea (no milk) with boba, my daughters ordered the lava flow (like a pina colada with strawberry) with boba and a strawberry smoothie with boba. I'm not sure if it's just me but I've given this place two opportunities now to make a decent cup of milk tea with Boba and I have to say, they are just not cutting it. Both times I've ordered a oolong milk tea and both times the quality has been poor. They aren't brewing the tea for long enough since this is "brewed to order" and it taste like I'm getting a cup of milk. I pointed this out the last time I was here to the high school student behind the counter and she looked at me like "what do you want me to do about it?" I started coming to this place since they text me coupons occasionally such as a dollar or 20% off a drink which takes me back to the price of boba drinks I am more comfortable paying but that isn't the only reason I come to this spot. The customer service specifically at this location is wonderful. I feel like the staff are friendly and genuinely want you to enjoy your drink.
