What a delicious and delightful place. Great cappuccinos. Loved the burrata with aged balsamic vinegar. The strozzapretti is absolutely divine - al dente pasta with sweet fried zucchini and a nice creamy salty sauce. The risotto was just ok. read more

We started off with the Rita ( pizza ) for the truffle fix. Then moved on to the Ravioli of the night (veal stuffed with a creamy mushroom sauce. Next were some juicy tiger prawns in a lemon butter sauce. I have no complaints ! No notes.. The service seemed slow at times but its just gave us more time to enjoy our espresso martinis & each other. Will definitely be back! read more

Arrived with large party, service was great, romantic ambiance, and great people watching. However, the fact that the restaurant has mostly outdoor seating which is preferable as it is small inside, and there is not a separate smoking section on the side of the building or separate from other guests is horrendous especially with how close the tables are together. I'm not sure of this exclusion for the Florida clean air act or regulations but we sat next to chain smokers and literally inhaled cigarette smoke with every course and bite of our meal, I could not even enjoy my meal and honestly, I didn't even consider the dish that tasteful but really might have been the cigarette smoke blowing right in our face. I left with my clothing and hair smelling like I left a corner bar, not a restaurant in SOFI. Our entire large party was complaining. Once the inconsiderate party left, another came and it was same situation. I find it very unfortunate that in 2024 that patrons should be subjected to this inconsiderate behavior. I do not understand the preference to accommodate these guests ) which was a quarter compared to our party) which is likely a decreasing population as opposed to creating a smoking section or some sort of ventilation to manage the situation. read more

Excellent, cute little find in the South of Fifth section of South Beach, across the street from Joe's. Met a friend for happy hour and stationed myself at an outside table since it was a lovely afternoon. Ordered the plain, Roman style Margherita pizza and it was sensational. As the slogan on one of the waiters T-shirt's stated: in pizza we crust. I agree--phenomenal crispy flavor and a good balance of sauce and cheese. One of the best pizzas I have had in Miami (and I've had them all). Washed the pizza down with Malbec and definitely need to come back and sample some of the other pizzas as well as pasta. read more

We found Call Me Gaby a couple of years ago while eating at Joe's Stone Crab. We had a window seat at Joe's and our interest was peaked seing all this activity across the street. Wandering over after dinner, we discovered this gem of a restaurant. So we made reservations and had dinner there the next evening. We have been back twice, once on our long November weekend in SoBe and then again around Christmas. Call Me Gaby would have received five stars but for our bad experience in November. I will get the ugliness out of the way and then proceed to extol the virtues of Call Me Gaby. We had two misses on our November visit which included several orders of gin and tonics and a pasta dish. I ordered Monkey 47 as the gin of choice but was provided a different gin each time. I told the waiter that the gin he brought me wasn't what I ordered (Monkey 47 has a distinct taste and is somewhat cloudy appearance in the tonic) and he insisted every time that it was Monkey 47. What was even more laughable was when the bill arrived, I was charged for Hendrick's gin. I also ordered a Carbonerra pasta, which by the description, sounded yummy. I had a hard eating the pasta since it was over peppered and didn't have the creamy texture you would expect. When I didn't finish it, the waiter asked if there was problem, and I described the above to him. He said that they had had several similar complaints. You think you might want to warn me about that? He also made it sound like we wouldn't be charged for this disaster, but we were charged for it. This item has since been removed from the menu. Nonetheless, we decided to give it another try around Christmas and the experience was much better and similar to our first (yes I did get my Monkey 47 and tonic) which was great. We always start our meal with the Andrea flatbread (Gourmet Pinsa they call it) which is made with fig jam, fresh stracciatella cheese, a smoked prosciutto, and fresh rosemary. I'm a fan of traditional pizza, but the Andrea combination is unbelievable. Not sure how to describe it other than having a sweet and savory effect. One of the best pies I've eaten. On other visits we have tried the Belgian Endive salad which consists of endives, caramelized pecans, red fuji apples, Roquefort cheese, apple cider, vinegar dressing, and chives. Another incredible combination. For main meals we have tried the Cacio e Pepe, a traditional pasta with pepper and pecorino Romano cheese; spaghetti pomodoro, a pasta with Italian cherry tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, onion, celery, and carrots; short ribs ravioli served with creamy mushroom sauce; pappardelle bolognese; and the carbonara previously discussed. All of the pasta dishes were very good but for the carbonara. For desert, we have had the profiteroles several times. Profiteroles are a plate of small puff pastries filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce poured table side. One of the best deserts I've had. My wife complains because I scrape the plate with my spoon trying to savor every drop. We'll be back. read more

Food 3.5/5 Service 4/5 Atmosphere 3.5/4 We came in for the weekend, and our friends suggested this restaurant. The atmosphere seemed like ,it was better outside. Inside it was too loud. We sat in the middle of the restaurant right off to the side of the main entrance inside. So it felt a little crowded and going to run into someone. The service was good our waitress was sweet and attentive. We started out with the charcuterie board and it was good, fresh and seemed like local meats and you could tell the bread was homemade. Now as for the entrees, they were good but the short ribs ravioli didn't have a lot of meat filling and the mushrooms overpowered the taste of the dish. The bolognese was good, rich tasting but was little bit too greasy. Overall wasn't bad would come here again to try other things especially the pizza. read more

My husband got the short rib ravioli and it was good, but we both loved my dish more lol I just took one star off because we had requested outdoor seating when we made the reservation and when we arrived they told us it was actually first come, first serve. There is no doubt that this place have an amazing decor, beautiful cozy cushions, fresh plants and veils of flowers all over the place. Dim lighting inside is addition to the decor. Spacious and lovely patio is cherry on top. Music is great too and undoubtedly food is so so good. All dishes are freshly prepared and quite cheezy ( italian food) I personally felt that they were rushing us even though we were there to experience just to eat. My husband and I stumbled into this cute place after walking from the South pointe park area, and we were gaging for some refreshments. We were sat in the area - for where you can have drinks only - which was adorable. Romantic, a lovely relaxing artistic vibe with soft false flickering candles, cute benches with pretty cushions. They have black and white striped umbrellas, and I have to say one of them was the largest one I have ever seen!! A lovely place - so pretty - spot on for the decor. The wait staff were sweet, and efficient - although our server had no idea how to pour a heineken into the chilled glass. It was embarrasing to watch - as he poured without tilting the glass, and only managed to get an inch of liquid, and then had to wait for ever and a day for the froth to go down. (gave me a little chuckle actually!) We were not hungry - but I perused the food menu - for future reference and I thought it was rather pricey - even for Miami beach. We have had the opportunity to dine at Call Me Gabby several times and once three times in one week. The food, service and the outdoor seating are all wonderful points and it's always a pleasure dining here. We always grab the watermelon salad as an appetizer to share with the presentation and flavors are great. You can't go wrong with any dish including their pizza. Perfect for a night out when the weather is nice. The patio seating is romantic and vibrant with strung lights, foliage and nicely arranged seating. It is quiet enough to enjoy your dining companion(s) but with a lively, upscale vibe. Jazz or house music is piped through the speakers. Service is excellent. We had a very attentive server, bussers and others on top of our table. The wine list has nice, affordable bottles. For me the caramelized pear pasta is a reason to come in and of itself. Call Me Gaby is the neighborhood hotspot for romantic al fresco dining, garden aperitives, family dinners, birthday parties, and everything in between and I'm not being biased because my name is Gaby. If you like pizza, brick oven pizza and fresh ingredients and don't want to break the bank, this is the spot. That wood fire makes all the difference when it comes to pizza and these folks know the trick. We tried the "Andrea" smoked prosciutto and fig jam for the first pie and was not disappointed. Fresh toppings and the sweet and salty combo of the fig and prosciutto with the fresh stracciatella, was amazing and yes we'd have to come back to try a few more pies because it was hard to pick which one to get. We also shared the Focchetti Alle Pere e Tartufo which was handmade pasta filled with Parmigiano Reggiano fondue, caramelized pear, Sage butter sauce, Aceto Balsamico and some truffle carpaccio . If your mouth didn't just water reading that , go try it for yourself , taste even better than it reads! Is it a coincidence that Coco Chanel's real name was Gaby? UPDATE: have been back multiple times ever since my first time and i still love it each time. Unfortunately, they have removed the short rib ravioli off the menu:(((( but that's ok, they still have a lot of other delicious options. Another one being the "Gaby Pinsa" i believe: The combo of the sweet sauce with the foie gras is so yummy. Bread is crispy and doughy at the same time. Perfect texture. Also, the meatballs are really delicious. When i brought my date here, he had the cacio e Pepe and it was rlly creamy and nicely seasoned. Noodles in both cacio e pepe and bolognese pasta were homemade and fresh. The bolognese is one of my favorites and I get it every time i come here (Excuse my misspelling if there is any lol). Still, my favorite Italian restaurant. Going there for Mother's Day today and i could not be more excited to enjoy the ambiance and the food!! SERVER LOUIS OR LEWIS IS THE BEST!! Great attitude and very attentive. Love coming back just to talk over the food and catch up every once in a while. For $300/hour you too can be unnecessarily put at risk for Covid while eating dinner here. On multiple occasions we asked our server to put her mask back over her face and nose. She just kept playing with her nose. Then we asked the manager. As his mask fell below his nose he asked her about it and she said, "I only put it down WHEN IM TALKING"?!? He seemed fine with that explanation and walked away. They have signs attached to the tables (see photos) about wearing your mask but THEY don't follow them. Oh also another guest served her dogs water straight out of the water pitcher that was sitting on the edge of the patio (their heads were IN THE PITCHER) and then we watched our server go pick the pitcher up and pour two gentlemen glasses of water from the same batch of water. Makes you wonder what was in the dinner if that's what we COULD SEE. The guys who brought the food from the back all had their masks on. The food was good but we got the heck out of there ASAP. Awful. We used to love it here. But they do not have a door on the entrance to the upstairs bathroom and the entire second floor is very smelly and disgusting. We were sat directly next to the bathroom, smells awful. Then we ordered a few dishes to share and it was extremely overpriced. Not to mention how awful the music is. So terrible. This place was highly anticipated for me and I was finally able to go in May of 2023. I started with the watermelon salad which was absolutely delicious. I got the cacio e pepe since it's one of my favorite dishes, and my gosh did it deliver! The sauce was so creamy and I loved the bowl as well. I prefer to sit upstairs in this sophisticated elegant classic bar with a casual dining area with sofas and chairs. Many times you will see guests with their favourite family member; their dog. The perfect European dining experience in the heart of South Beach. The menu will satisfy any hard to please individual. I know: I share the same "you know what you want traits" My favourite are the mussels with focaccia! I usually start with a Sidecar and if you go a few times and most of the time the bartender will remember your drink or cocktail. The pizzas are absolutely one of a kind and never have I experienced such creativity in a pizza. The pastas are amazing, but my favourite is the FIOCCHETTI ALLE PERE E TARTUFO. If you are fortunate that night, you will see the talented Chef Carmine walking through the restaurant with that incredible Italian smile to meet his guests and make sure they are over the top satisfied. I strongly dislike writing bad reviews. However, after my intimate birthday dinner experience at "call me Gaby", I felt cheated and honestly think this review is extremely necessary. We had reservations, but still had to stand outside for 1 hour. After standing outside for what seemed to be an eternity, the hostess decided to sit us inside because our table never became available ... there's a reason why I wanted to sit outside but this isn't the end of the world. Or is it?! since there is a whole pandemic going on and all. Inside of this establishment may as well be where Omicron took off in miami because let me tell you...the place is completely packed, guests are pretty much on top of each other and even going to the bathroom is a mission and a half. The service was bad, my server took 15 minutes to bring me silverware. ( after our first round of food was served) He also kept taking the menu away, after I repeatedly asked him to leave it on the table since we were not done ordering. We didn't even eat 1/4 of any of the appetizers and entrees we ordered and our server didn't even attempt to do anything about it. The food was the worst part about this entire experience and the main reason why I am writing this review. The FOCCACIA: dry, stiff and tasteless. The GNOCCHI: Chewy like rubber and the sauce literally tasted like milk. Just plain tasteless. So tasteless, my boyfriend thought his gustatory system was compromised. SPAGHETTI ALLE VONGOLE: Tasted like absolutely nothing, it was the most blend spaghetti I have consumed and my clams tasted bitter. ): The CHARCUTERIE PLATTER: ok.
